Abstract
A device for discharging an extinguishing medium (13) comprising at least one discharge opening (22) is provided. The discharge opening (22) is distinguished by the fact that the extinguishing medium (13) emerges as a jet of such a flat form that there cannot form within it any flow turbulence that would emit sound waves of a wavelength in the audible acoustic spectrum. This is ensured by the geometry of the discharge opening (22).
