Description
본 발명은 탄약에 관한 것으로, 더욱 상세하게는 탄환의 후측부에서 발생하는 공기의 와류현상으로 인한 탄환의 공기저항을 줄임으로써 탄환의 비행속도 및 사거리(射距離)를 증가시키고 탄환의 직진성을 향상시켜 탄환의 명중률을 높인 탄약에 관한 것이다.
일반적으로, 탄약은 탄피와, 탄피의 트인 앞 부분에 설치되는 탄환과, 탄피의 내부에 채워진 장약과, 탄피의 뒷부분에 설치되는 뇌관으로 구성된다.

이러한 구성에 의하면, 웨드는 장약실의 장약 폭발에 의한 압력으로 탄환을 밀어내는 추진력을 제공하고, 총구를 벋어나면서 탄환으로부터 분리되어 탄환만이 높은 추진력을 가지면서 전방으로 발사된다. 이때 탄환의 유선형 꼬리부에 의해서는 비행시 주변공기와의 마찰저항을 최소화함과 동시에, 탄환의 후측부에 와류현상이 방지됨으로써, 비행속도 및 직진성이 향상되어 사거리가 길어지고 조준점과 탄착점의 오차가 적어 명중률이 높아진다.

본 발명에 따른 탄약에 의하면, 장약의 폭발압력을 받는 웨드의 가압면이 웨드의 추진력 작용방향과 직교하도록 형성되고, 탄환의 유선형 꼬리부에 형성한 수직면과 이에 밀착하는 웨드의 결합면이 웨드의 추진력 작용방향과 직교하도록 형성됨에 따라, 탄환에 강한 추진력을 작용시킬 수 있고, 이러한 유선형 꼬리부와 웨드의 조립구조에 의해서는 추진력 작용시 탄환과 웨드의 조립부분이 꼭 끼이는 압입현상의 발생이 방지되므로 탄환이 총구로부터 벗어날 때 웨드가 탄환으로부터 확실하게 분리되는 효과가 있다.
또한, 본 발명은 웨드가 접촉되는 탄환의 유선형 꼬리부 일부분을 탄환의 재질보다 경질인 금속으로 보강체로 구성하여 유선형 꼬리부에 일체적으로 결합한 것이므로, 웨드의 추진력 작용에 의해 강한 가압력을 받는 유선형 꼬리부의 수직면이 변형되는 것이 방지되어 웨드의 강력한 추진력을 탄환에 확실하게 전달할 수 있다.
또한, 본 발명은 상기 웨드를 구성하는 덮개부의 외측둘레면 직경이 탄환의 몸통부 직경보다 작게 형성됨에 따라, 탄환의 발사시 웨드의 외측둘레면이 탄피의 개방부 또는 총신의 강선과 접촉하지 않아 마찰저항을 최소화할 수 있다.
또한, 본 발명은 상기 웨드를 구성하는 덮개부의 내측둘레면 끝단부분에 제1 경사면이 형성됨에 따라, 탄환이 총구로부터 벗어날 때, 탄환의 표면으로 흐르는 공기가 상기 제1 경사면으로 유입되어 웨드를 탄환에서 분리하는 방향으로 밀게 되므로 웨드를 탄환으로부터 더욱 확실하게 분리할 수 있다.
또한, 본 발명은 상기 웨드를 구성하는 덮개부의 바깥둘레면 끝단부분에 제2 경사면이 형성됨에 따라, 탄환의 발사시 웨드의 바깥둘레면이 탄피의 개방부 또는 총신의 강선과 접촉하는 경우에도 미끄럼을 유발하여 이들 사이의 마찰저항을 최소화할 수 있다.

이하, 본 발명에 따른 탄약의 바람직한 실시예를 첨부 도면에 의거하여 상세히 설명한다.
도 1 및 도 2에 도시된 바와 같이 본 발명의 탄약은 탄피(10)를 구비한다. 탄피(10)는, 전방이 개방되어 있는 장약실(12)을 구비하고 있으며, 장약실(12)의 내부에는 장약(20)이 채워져 있다. 이러한 장약(20)은, 가해지는 충격에 의해 폭발된다.
탄피(10)의 뒷부분에는 뇌관(30)이 설치된다. 뇌관(30)은, 총기류 또는 대포류의 격발장치에 의해 물리적 또는 전기적인 충격을 받아 폭발하고, 그 폭발력을 장약(20)에 전달한다. 따라서, 장약(20)이 탄피(10)의 내부에서 폭발할 수 있도록 유도한다.
탄피(10)의 트인 개방부(14)에는 탄환(50)이 발사가능하게 설치되고, 탄환(50)의 후측부에는 장약(20)의 폭발시 상기 탄환(50)에 추진력을 작용하는 웨드(40)가 분리가능하게 설치된다.
상기 탄환(50)은 원추형상의 머리부(51), 원통형상의 몸통부(52) 및 이 몸통부(52) 후측부에 형성된 유선형 꼬리부(53)로 구성된다.
탄환(50)의 몸통부(52)는 탄피(10)의 개방부(14)에 분리가능하게 고정되는 것으로, 장약실(12)을 밀폐하도록 트인 개방부(14)를 틀어막는다. 여기서, 몸통부(52)는, 탄피(10)의 개방부(14)에 강제 압입함으로써 개방부(14)에 고정되고, 특히 장약(20)의 폭발시 탄피(10)로부터 분리될 수 있게 고정된다.
탄환(50)의 유선형 꼬리부(53)는, 탄환(50)의 발사시 공기와의 마찰저항을 최소화시키고, 주변의 기류가 층류(層流)를 이루면서 규칙적으로 흐를 수 있게 유도한다. 따라서, 탄환(50)의 후측부에서 공기의 와류현상이 발생되는 것을 방지한다.
한편, 상기 탄환(50)은 도 3에 도시된 바와 같이, 유선형 꼬리부(53)의 중간부분에 둘레방향을 따라 웨드(40)의 추진력 작용방향으로 형성한 수평의 원통면(53a)과, 상기 원통면(53a)의 일측에 연이어 형성되어 웨드(40)의 추진력 작용방향과 직교하는 수직면(53b)을 구비한다.
상기 탄환(50)의 후측부, 즉 유선형 꼬리부(53)에 설치되는 웨드(40)는, 장약(20)의 폭발압력을 받는 가압부(41)와, 유선형 꼬리부(53)의 둘레면을 덮는 덮개부(42)로 구성된다.
웨드(40)의 가압부(41)에는 유선형 꼬리부(53)의 원통면(53a)에 분리가능하게 끼워지는 관통구멍(41a)이 형성되고, 상기 유선형 꼬리부(53)의 수직면(53b)에 밀착되는 결합면(41b)이 형성되며, 이 결합면(41b)의 반대쪽에는 웨드(40)의 추진력 작용방향과 직교하는 가압면(41c)이 형성된다.
웨드(40)의 덮개부(42)는 상기 가압부(41)의 바깥둘레로부터 웨드(40)의 추진력 작용방향으로 연장 형성되고, 탄환(50)의 유선형 꼬리부(53) 둘레면 일부를 덮는 내측둘레면(42a)과, 탄환(50)의 원통면(53a)과 평행한 외측둘레면(42b)을 형성하고 있다. 이때 도 2에 도시된 바와 같이 상기 웨드(40)를 구성하는 덮개부(42)의 외측둘레면(42b) 직경(D1)은 탄환(50)의 몸통부(52) 직경(D2)보다 작게 형성하여 탄환(50)의 발사시 웨드(40)의 외측둘레면(42b)이 탄피(10) 또는 총신의 강선에 접촉함으로써 발생하는 마찰을 최소화하는 것이 바람직하다.
또한, 도 4에 도시된 바와 같이 상기 웨드(40)의 내측둘레면(42a) 끝단부분에는 끝단쪽으로 갈수록 유선형 꼬리부(53)의 바깥 둘레면으로부터 점점 이격되는 제1 경사면(42c)을 형성하여 탄환(50)이 발사되어 총구로부터 벗어나 비행할 때 공기가 경사면(42c)을 통해 웨드(40)를 밀어 탄환(50)으로부터 쉽게 분리될 수 있도록 하며, 상기 웨드(40)의 외측둘레면(42b) 끝단부분에는 끝단쪽으로 갈수록 직경이 점점 작아지는 제2 경사면(42c)을 형성하여 탄환(50)이 발사되어 웨드(40)의 외측둘레면(42b)이 탄피(10) 또는 총신의 강선에 접촉할 때, 이들 사이에 미끄럼이 발생되도록 함으로써 마찰저항을 최소화시키는 것이 바람직하다.
한편, 상기 웨드(40)가 접촉되는 유선형 꼬리부(53)의 수직면(53b)은, 예를 들면 탄환(50)은 연질인 구리합금으로 제조되고, 웨드(40)는 구리합금보다 경질인 철 또는 스테인레스 스틸로 제조되는 경우, 웨드(40)의 강력한 추진력을 탄환(50)에 전달할 때, 연질인 유선형 꼬리부(53)의 수직면(53b)이 변형될 염려가 있다.
따라서, 도 5에 도시된 바와 같이, 웨드(40)가 접촉되는 유선형 꼬리부(53)의 둘레면 일부와 수직면(53b)을 포함하는 유선형 꼬리부(53)의 일부분을 탄환(50)의 재질보다 경질인 금속, 예를 들면 웨드(40)와 같은 철 또는 스테인레스 스틸로 제작한 보강체(54)로 구성하여 유선형 꼬리부(53)에 일체적으로 결합하는 것이 바람직하다.
또한, 도 6은 상기 보강체(54)의 다른 변형예를 나타낸 것으로서, 보강체(54)를 웨드(40)가 접촉되는 유선형 꼬리부(53)의 둘레면 일부와 유선형 꼬리부(53)에 형성한 원통면(53a) 및 수직면(53b)을 포함하도록 형성하여도 좋다.
또한, 웨드(40)와 보강체(54)의 다른 변형예로서, 도 7에 도시된 바와 같이, 상기 보강체(54)에 형성되는 원통면(53a,53a') 및 수직면(53b,53b')을 복수단으로 형성하고, 이에 대응하여 상기 웨드(40)에 형성되는 관통구멍(41a,41a') 및 결합면(41b,41b')을 복수단으로 형성하여도 좋다.
이러한 구성으로 이루어진 본 발명의 작용을 설명하면 다음과 같다. 먼저 탄약을 총기류 또는 대포류(도시하지 않음)에 장전한 다음, 격발장치를 작동시켜 탄약의 뇌관(30)에 물리적 또는 전기적인 충격을 가하면, 충격이 가해진 뇌관(30)은 폭발하면서 장약실(12)의 장약(20)을 폭발시킨다. 장약의 폭발압력은 탄환(50)의 유선형 꼬리부(53)에 결합된 웨드(40)의 가압면(41c)을 강력하게 밀어 탄환(50)을 발사시키는 추진력을 작용시키게 된다.
이때 웨드(40)의 가압면(41c)은, 웨드(40)의 추진력 작용방향과 직교하도록 형성된 것이므로, 장약의 폭발압력을 최대한 받을 수 있어 탄환(50)에 강한 추진력을 제공할 수 있다.
탄환(50)의 유선형 꼬리부(53)에 형성한 수직면(53b)과 이에 밀착하는 웨드(40)의 결합면(41b)은, 웨드(40)의 추진력 작용방향과 직교하도록 형성된 것이므로, 웨드(40)의 강한 추진력을 탄환(50)에 그대로 전달하여 탄환(50)이 강한 추진력으로 발사될 수 있다.
더욱이 이러한 탄환(50)의 유선형 꼬리부(53)와 웨드(40)의 결합구조는, 웨드(40)의 추진력 작용방향으로 형성한 수평의 원통면(53a)에 웨드(40)의 관통구멍(41a)을 끼우고, 웨드(40)의 추진력 작용방향과 직교하는 수직면(53b)에 웨드(40)의 결합면(41b)이 밀착하여 결합된 것이므로, 강한 추진력 작용에 의해서도 탄환(50)의 유선형 꼬리부(53)에 웨드(40)가 꼭 끼이는 압입현상이 발생하지 않는다. 따라서 도 8에서와 같이 탄환(50)이 총구로부터 벗어날 때 웨드(40)를 탄환(50)으로부터 확실하게 분리시킬 수 있다.
또한, 본 발명은 상기 웨드(40)를 구성하는 덮개부(42)의 외측둘레면(42b) 직경(D1)이 탄환(50)의 몸통부(52) 직경(D2)보다 작게 형성된 것이므로, 탄환(50)의 발사시 웨드(40)의 외측둘레면(42b)과 탄피(10) 또는 총신의 강선이 접촉하는 것을 방지할 수 있고, 이로써 탄환(50)의 발사시 마찰저항을 최소화할 수 있다.
더욱이, 웨드(40)의 외측둘레면(42b) 끝단부분에 형성한 제2 경사면(42d)에 의해 탄환(50)의 발사시 웨드(40)의 외측둘레면(42b)이 탄피 또는 총신의 강선과 접촉하는 경우에도 미끄럼을 유발하여 이들 사이의 마찰저항을 최소화할 수 있다.
또한, 본 발명은 상기 웨드(40)를 구성하는 덮개부(42)의 내측둘레면(42a) 끝단부분에 제1 경사면(42c)이 형성된 것이므로, 탄환(50)이 총구로부터 벗어나 비행할 때, 탄환(50)의 표면으로 흐르는 공기가 상기 제1 경사면(42c)으로 유입되어 웨드(40)를 탄환(50)으로부터 분리하는 방향으로 밀게 된다. 따라서 웨드(40)가 탄환(50)으로부터 분리되는 것을 더욱 확실하게 실행시킴으로써 탄환(50)의 발사성능을 유지할 수 있다.
지금까지 설명된 실시예는 본 발명의 바람직한 실시예를 설명한 것에 불과하고, 본 발명의 권리범위는 설명된 실시예에 한정되는 것은 아니며, 본 발명의 기술적 사상과 특허청구범위 내에서 이 분야의 당업자에 의하여 다양한 변경, 변형 또는 치환이 가능할 것이며, 그와 같은 실시예들은 본 발명의 범위에 속하는 것으로 이해되어야 한다.
Claims (7)
- 개방부를 갖는 장약실이 구비된 탄피와, 상기 탄피의 장약실에 장입되는 장약과, 상기 장약을 폭발시킬 수 있도록 상기 탄피에 설치되는 뇌관과, 상기 장약실의 개방부를 몸통부가 밀폐하여 발사가능하게 탄피에 설치되며 발사시 공기저항을 최소화시킬 수 있도록 몸통부 후측부에 유선형 꼬리부를 갖는 탄환과, 상기 탄환의 유선형 꼬리부에 분리가능하게 설치되어 상기 장약의 폭발시 상기 탄환에 추진력을 작용하는 웨드(Wad)를 포함하여 이루어지며,상기 탄환은, 유선형 꼬리부의 중간부분에 둘레방향을 따라 웨드의 추진력 작용방향으로 형성한 수평의 원통면와, 상기 원통면의 일측에 연이어 형성되어 웨드의 추진력 작용방향과 직교하는 수직면을 구비하고,상기 웨드는, 상기 탄환의 원통면에 분리가능하게 끼워지는 관통구멍이 형성되고 상기 탄환의 수직면에 밀착되는 결합면과 이 결합면의 반대쪽에 웨드의 추진력 작용방향과 직교하는 가압면을 가지는 가압부와, 상기 가압부의 바깥둘레로부터 웨드의 추진력 작용방향으로 연장 형성되고 유선형 꼬리부의 둘레면 일부를 덮는 내측둘레면과 탄환의 원통면과 평행한 외측둘레면을 가지는 덮개부로 구성됨을 특징으로 하는 탄약.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 웨드가 접촉되는 유선형 꼬리부의 둘레면 일부와 수직면을 포함하는 유선형 꼬리부의 일부분을 탄환의 재질보다 경질인 금속으로 제작한 보강체로 구성하여 유선형 꼬리부에 일체적으로 결합한 것을 특징으로 하는 탄약.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 웨드의 내측둘레면이 접촉되는 유선형 꼬리부의 둘레면 일부와 유선형 꼬리부에 형성한 원통면 및 수직면을 포함하는 유선형 꼬리부의 일부분을 탄환의 재질보다 경질인 금속으로 제작한 보강체로 구성하여 유선형 꼬리부에 일체적으로 결합한 것을 특징으로 하는 탄약.
- 제 3 항에 있어서, 상기 보강체에 형성한 원통면 및 수직면을 복수단으로 형성하고, 이에 대응하여 상기 웨드에 형성한 관통구멍 및 결합면을 복수단으로 형성한 것을 특징으로 하는 탄약.
- 제 1 항에 있어서, 상기 웨드를 구성하는 덮개부의 외측둘레면 직경은, 탄환의 몸통부 직경보다 작게 형성됨을 특징으로 하는 탄약.
- 제 1 항 또는 제 5 항에 있어서, 상기 웨드를 구성하는 덮개부의 내측둘레면 끝단부분에 끝단쪽으로 갈수록 유선형 꼬리부의 둘레면으로부터 점차 이격되는 제1 경사면을 형성한 것을 특징으로 하는 탄약.
- 제 6 항에 있어서, 상기 웨드의 외측둘레면 끝단부분에 끝단쪽으로 갈수록 직경이 점차 작아지는 제2 경사면을 형성한 것을 특징으로 하는 탄약.
