Abstract

The invention proceeds from a food‑carrier holder with at least one component (10) made of a material having a density of less than 6 g/cm3. In order to provide a food‑carrier holder of the type in question which makes it possible for an oven to be highly energy efficient and, at the same time, combines high mechanical and chemical strength with advantageously straightforward and cost‑effective production, it is proposed that the food‑carrier holder has a protective layer (12) which is arranged on the component (10) and comprises an oxide and/or a hydroxide.
