Description

The present invention relates to a clip that engages with an attachment hole formed in a member to be attached.
Resin clips are used to attach trim (garnish), bumpers, curtain airbags, and other parts to the body panel. Such a clip includes a leg portion (elastic portion) that can be engaged with a mounting hole formed in a vehicle body panel or the like (for example, Patent Document 1). The leg portion is formed larger than the diameter of the mounting hole, and when inserted into the mounting hole, it is elastically deformed and passes through the mounting hole. Get caught on the edge. Patent Document 1 describes a leg portion that can be deformed in a direction orthogonal to the axis of the mounting hole and a leg portion that can be deformed in a rotation direction around the axis of the mounting hole.

Hereinafter, an embodiment in which the present invention is applied to a trim clip for attaching a trim to a vehicle body panel of an automobile will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. In the following description, front / rear, left / right, and upper / lower are determined based on the coordinate axes shown in FIG.
The clip 1 is formed by injection molding a resin material. As shown in FIG. 1, the clip 1 has a disk-like base 2, a leg 3 projecting from a lower surface 11 of the base 2, and an upper surface 12 ( The head 4 projecting from FIG. 4) is provided as a main component. In FIG. 1, the clip 1 is arranged so that the lower surface 11 of the base portion 2 faces downward, the upper surface 12 faces upward, and an axis A passing through the center of the base portion 2 coincides with the vertical direction. The direction orthogonal to the axis A is the radial direction of the clip 1.
An annular extension 14 is extended on the circumference of the base 2. The extension portion 14 protrudes radially outward and downward from the circumferential portion of the base portion 2. The extension part 14 is formed thinner than the base part 2 and can be elastically deformed.
The head 4 has a shaft portion 16 that protrudes upward from the upper surface 12 of the base portion 2 with the axis A as the center axis, and an enlarged head portion 17 provided at the upper end of the shaft portion 16. The shaft portion 16 has a substantially cylindrical shape, and has a lightening portion 18 penetrating in the front-rear direction at the center thereof. The enlarged head portion 17 is formed in a substantially rectangular plate shape, and is provided at the upper end of the shaft portion 16 so as to be parallel to the base portion 2 (that is, the main surface faces upward and downward). Projecting in the radial direction of the shaft portion 16.
The leg portion 3 is composed of a total of four leg pieces including a pair of first leg pieces 21 and a pair of second leg pieces 22 projecting from the base portion 2. A virtual surface including the axis A and having the principal surface facing left and right is defined as a first virtual surface B, and a virtual surface including the axis A and orthogonal to the first virtual surface B is defined as a second virtual surface C. . As shown in FIGS. 2 to 5, the pair of first leg pieces 21 are symmetrical with respect to the first imaginary plane B, and extend on the second imaginary plane C so as to sandwich the axis A. .
Both the first leg pieces 21 have a plate-like shape having a predetermined width in the front-rear direction. Has in series. The outer surfaces of the first base end portion 23, the first intermediate portion 24, and the first distal end portion 25 facing outward in the left and right directions are formed into curved surfaces in which the center portion in the front-rear direction protrudes outward in the left and right directions.
Both the first base end portions 23 extend downward from positions spaced apart from each other of the base portion 2, and gradually increase in thickness in the left-right direction so that the outer surface protrudes leftward and outwardly (radially outward) as it goes downward. Has increased. The first intermediate portion 24 is continuous with the lower end of the first base end portion 23 and extends downward. The thickness in the left-right direction of the first intermediate portion 24 is the same as the thickness at the lower end of the first base end portion 23 and is constant in the vertical direction, and the outer surface of the first intermediate portion 24 is the first base end portion 23. It is located on the left and right outside of the outer surface. Accordingly, the first intermediate portion 24 is in a state of bulging (projecting) outward in the left and right directions with respect to the first base end portion 23. The first tip 25 extends continuously downward from the lower end of the first intermediate portion 24 and inclines in the direction approaching the left or right axis A (inward and leftward and rightward). 1 imaginary plane B) are continuous with each other to form a first tip connecting portion 26. The thickness of the first tip portion 25 in the left-right direction is substantially the same as that of the first intermediate portion 24. Both the first leg pieces 21 are elastically deformable in the left-right direction (arrows in FIG. 2).
Both the second leg pieces 22 are formed in a 180-rotation symmetrical shape with the axis A as the axis of symmetry, and the second base end portion 31, the second intermediate portion 32, and the second tip end portion 33 are connected to the base portion 2 from the base side. Has in series. The second base end portion 31, the second intermediate portion 32, and the second tip end portion 33 have a bar shape with a substantially square cross section. Both the second base end portions 31 are provided at positions on the lower surface 11 of the base portion 2 that are spaced apart from each other and do not overlap the first virtual surface B and the second virtual surface C. As shown in FIG. 2, the second base end portion 31 and the second intermediate portion 32 extend downward so as to rotate the axis A counterclockwise when viewed from below. That is, the second base end portion 31 and the second intermediate portion 32 extend in a right-handed spiral shape with the axis A as the center. Further, the second intermediate portion 32 protrudes outward in the radial direction of the clip 1 from the second base end portion 31.
Both the second tip portions 33 extend from the lower end of each second intermediate portion 32 in a direction downward and close to each other, and are continuous with each other on the axis A at the lower end to form a second tip connecting portion 34. In the present embodiment, the second tip connecting portion 34 extends in the front-rear direction on the first virtual plane B.
As shown in FIG. 2, when viewed from below in the direction of the axis A, the left corner of the outer surface of the second base end portion 31 and the second intermediate portion 32 (the surface located on the radially outer side of the clip 1) is chamfered. As a result, a guide surface 37 is formed. The angle of the surface of the guide surface 37 is set so as to generate a clockwise component of the axis A when viewed from below when an upward load is applied to the guide surface 37. With the above configuration, the second leg piece 22 is elastic in the clockwise direction of the axis A when viewed from below when receiving an upward load on the guide surface 37 (arrow in FIG. 2).
As shown in FIG. 5 as viewed from above, the cross-sectional area of the second leg piece 22 when cut along an arbitrary virtual plane orthogonal to the axis A is smaller than the cross-sectional area of the first leg piece 21, The deformation of the two leg pieces 22 in the rotation direction around the axis A is generated with a smaller external force than the deformation of the first leg pieces 21 in the left and right directions.
The first tip connecting portions 26 of both first leg pieces 21 and the second tip connecting portions 34 of both second leg pieces 22 are connected by a column portion 35 extending along the axis A. The column portion 35 maintains the relative position between the first tip connecting portion 26 and the second tip connecting portion 34 and prevents the first leg piece 21 and the second leg piece 22 from being deformed in the vertical direction.
4 and 5, the first leg pieces 21 and the second leg pieces 22 are arranged so as not to overlap each other when viewed from the front-rear direction. As a result, the clip 1 can be molded with two molding dies having the second virtual plane C as the mold splitting surface. As is clear from the illustrated example, the head 4 of the clip 1 can be formed with the second virtual surface C as the parting surface. Further, when the second imaginary plane C is a parting surface, the extended portions 14 have overlapping portions. However, when the clip 1 is extracted from the mold, the extended portions 14 are elastically deformed. The clip 1 can be detached from the mold.
It is preferable that both the second leg pieces 22 have a large distance from the adjacent first leg pieces 21 in a range where they do not overlap each other when viewed from the front-rear direction, that is, an angle around the axis A is large. That is, it is preferable that both the first leg pieces 21 and the two second leg pieces 22 are distributed in the circumferential direction around the axis A.
The clip 1 having the above configuration can be made into a product in combination with the packing 41 (see FIG. 6). The packing 41 may have a disk shape with a circular through hole at the center, and the radius of the through hole is determined by the distance between the axis A and the outer surface of the first intermediate portion 24 of the first leg piece 21. And the distance between the axis A and the outer surface of the second intermediate part 32 of the second leg piece 22 is set to be smaller than the distance between the first base end part 23 and the second leg piece 22 of the first leg piece 21 in the vertical direction. The packing 41 can be held on the outer peripheral portion of the second base end portion 31. Since the clip 1 has a total of four leg pieces of the first leg piece 21 and the second leg piece 22 dispersed in the circumferential direction, the packing 41 can be held relatively stably.
Next, a mounting structure between the vehicle body panel 50 and the trim 60 via the clip 1 will be described. The vehicle body panel 50 is formed of a steel plate and has a circular mounting hole 51 with which the leg 3 of the clip 1 can be engaged. The trim 60 is provided with a slot 61 for coupling with the clip 1 on the back surface thereof. The slot 61 has a substantially square bottom plate 62 and a side wall 63 erected on the back surface of the trim 60 so as to connect the other side and the back surface of the trim 60 with one side of the bottom plate 62 left. It has a bag shape (box shape) with one side open. A slit 64 penetrating the bottom plate 62 extends to the back side of the slot 61 from the side of the bottom plate 62 that opens. The slit 64 is formed in a size that allows the shaft portion 16 of the head 4 to pass therethrough, and the slot 61 is formed in a size that can receive the enlarged head 17 therein. On the inner surface of the bottom plate 62 and the side wall 63, a ridge 65 for improving the adhesion of the head 4 is formed.
First, the head 4 of the clip 1 is press-fitted into the slot 61 of the trim 60. At this time, the shaft portion 16 of the head 4 is received in the slit 64 of the slot 61, and the enlarged head 17 is received in the slot 61. The shaft portion 16 and the enlarged head portion 17 are held in the slot 61 through the protrusions 65 so that the coupling between the clip 1 and the trim 60 is formed.
Next, the leg portion 3 of the clip 1 on which the packing 41 is mounted in advance is inserted into the mounting hole 51 of the vehicle body panel 50. At this time, the first tip portion 25 and the first intermediate portion 24 of the first leg piece 21 are pressed against the hole wall of the attachment hole 51 and deformed radially inward (in the direction close to the axis A), and attached. Pass through hole 51. When the first intermediate portion 24 passes through the attachment hole 51, the first leg piece 21 protrudes radially outward by the restoring force, and the first base end portion 23 of the first leg piece 21 is caught by the attachment hole 51. At the same time, the second intermediate portion 32 of the second leg piece 22 is pressed against the hole wall of the mounting hole 51 on the guide surface 37, is deformed in the direction around the axis A, and passes through the mounting hole 51. When the second intermediate portion 32 passes through the attachment hole 51, the second leg piece 22 returns to the original state by the restoring force, and the second base end portion 31 of the second leg piece 22 is caught by the attachment hole 51.
As shown in FIG. 6, when the first base end portion 23 of the first leg piece 21 and the second base end portion 31 of the second leg piece 22 are hooked in the mounting hole 51, the clip 1 and the vehicle body panel 50 are coupled to each other. Is formed. At this time, the mounting hole 51 is covered and sealed by the packing 41 and the extension 14.
The clip 1 according to this embodiment can be reliably engaged with the mounting hole 51 by having a pair of first leg pieces 21 and second leg pieces 22 having different deformation modes. The 1st leg piece 21 and the 2nd leg piece 22 can implement | achieve various fastening states by changing each thickness and shape. For example, the protruding length in the radial direction of the first leg piece 21 may be reduced, and the protruding length in the radial direction of the second leg piece 22 may be increased. In this case, the 2nd leg piece 22 can be used as an engaging claw (elastic claw), maintaining the shape of the leg part 3 with the 1st leg piece 21. FIG.
In the above description, the clip 1 and the vehicle body panel 50 are combined after the clip 1 and the trim 60 are combined. However, the clip 1 and the trim 60 may be combined after the clip 1 and the vehicle body panel 50 are combined. .
This is the end of the description of the specific embodiment, but the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and can be widely modified. For example, the column portion 35 that connects the first tip connecting portion 26 and the second tip connecting portion 34 of the clip 1 may be extended upward and connected to the lower surface 11 of the base portion 2. In this case, the vertical deformation of the leg 3 can be further suppressed. Moreover, about the usage pattern of the clip 1, you may fasten the clip 1 in the state which piled up the two board members in which the attachment hole was formed, respectively. In this case, two plate members are overlapped so that the mounting holes are coaxial, and the leg portions 3 are inserted into both the mounting holes, so that the first base end portion 23 and the second base end portion 31 have two. A single plate member can be supported. When used in such a form, the head 4 of the clip 1 may be omitted.
