- Fig. 7a depicts the telescope bridge of the arrangement during extension from the vessel to the installation or during return from the installation to the vessel
- Fig. 7b depicts the telescopic bridge connected to the installation.
- the arrangement 1 consists of a telescopic bridge 5 arranged on a pedestal 6, which in turn is mounted onto the vessel 25.
- the telescopic bridge 5 can be arranged on the vessel's front section, rear section or midship.
- the telescopic bridge 5 is arranged with an internal gliding telescopic section.
- the telescopic bridge 5 is arranged with gliding guiding devices 13, 14 that can be angled out in a V-shape, and which buckles on a hawser 15 between its end points 11 , 12.
- Figure 2 shows the entire arrangement, i.e. the section of the arrangement being mounted onto the vessel 25 and a receiving arrangement 20 arranged on the installation 30.
- Figure 2 shows the vessel 25 placed at an appropriate distance from the installation 30.
- the telescopic bridge 5 is adjusted with respect to the tilt angle and the gliding guiding devices 13, 14, in the form of flexible rails being brought towards the installation and angled out in a V-shape.
- a hawser 15 buckles between the end points 11 , 12 of the guiding device. The hawser 15 is now in position to be lowered down behind a vertical stick 23 on the receiving
- the guiding devices 13, 14 are in the form of flexible or soft rails which will have a large distance to the installation 30 during connection, and which does not do any damage to the installation even if contact should be made.
- FIG 3 shows the hawser 15 placed behind the vertical stick 23, and connected to the receiving arrangement 20.
- the receiving arrangement 20 comprises a bracket 21 with the outer vertical stick 23.
- the gliding guiding devices 13, 14 are now pulled back into the telescopic bridge 5, and the hawser 15 is tightened up in order to reduce relative motions.
- the vessel 25 can now be located, with a constant propeller force, away from the installation (will revolve around the weather).
- the hawser 15 will ensure that the relative movements between the vessel 25 and the installation are significantly reduced, such that you afterwards may bring forward the telescopic section of the bridge 5 and enter it on the same stick 23 as the hawser is hanging behind, possibly a separate mooring design.
- Figure 4 shows the telescopic bridge 5 brought forward and connected to receiving arrangement 20 on the installation 30.
- the telescopic section of the bridge 5 is equipped with a flexible receiving device that can withstand impacts, and allows the bridge 5 to be placed on the stick 23, even when there are relative movements between the bridge 5 and the stick 23.
- Figures 5a and 5b show a detailed embodiment of the connection between the flexible receiving device 7 of the bridge 20 and receiving arrangement 20 of the installation with the outer vertical stick 23.
- a mechanism is arrangement on the bridge, that may come from the side and grab hold of a vertical tube and then to land the bridge on a soft surface at the bottom of the tube. This is because the hawser then arrests horizontal movements of the bridge end much better than the vertical movements, and thus has a better control of a lateral entry into a connection device than a vertical one.
- the present invention is based on that the forces shall go through the hawser, also after the bridge is connected. This means that the bridge should be free to be adjusted in the longitudinal direction also during operation. This means that the hydraulic system that brings the bridge in and out must be released when it is connected.
- Figures 6a and 6b show further details of the receiving arrangement 20 being arranged on the installation 30.
- Figure 7a shows the telescopic bridge 5 in a phase of extension to the installation 30 after return to the vessel 25.
- the telescopic bridge is in its anterior and lower area arranged with a control device which encloses the hawser 15.
- the hawser 15 constitutes a guiding structure for the extension of the telescopic bridge to the receiving arrangement 20, and also for the return to the vessel 25.
- the control device comprises a bracket 35 being arranged with a passage 37 for the hawser 15. Further, there is a passage 37 arranged with at least one horizontal guiding roller for the hawser 15. In this phase, the guiding roller 39 will be in its lower position such that it rests on the hawser 15.
- Figure 7b shows the telescopic bridge 5 connected to the installation 30.
- the guiding roller 39 will be in its upper position and at a distance from the hawser 15.
- the control device for the hawser 15 ensures that the telescopic bridge 5, during the extension to the installation 30, is being completely controlled in relation to the receiving arrangement 20 and directed straight into this. Such operations are often carried out under poor weather conditions, which mean that the telescopic bridge 5 will move much up and down, so that it can be a challenge to manage and connect the telescopic bridge 5 to the receiving arrangement 20.
- the control device according to the present invention solves this problem in an efficient and safe manner, and further provides a secure transfer of workers and tools or parts for maintenance operations on the installation. It should further be noted that the bridge will normally not take any anchoring forces.
- the telescopic bridge 5 can be lowered onto the hawser 15, is released in all degrees of freedom except translation in the longitudinal direction of the bridge and rotation about this, and is pushed out as it is controlled along the hawser 15. In this manner, the vessel's translations and rotations acting on the bridge are reduced, resulting in a fixed point when the bridge is extended all the way to the anchoring point.
- the control device ensures that the bridge cannot get off the hawser 15 when the bridge is pushed out along the hawser 15.
- the horizontal guiding roller 39 is arranged within the passage 37 for the hawser 15.
- the receiving arrangement 20 that is the outer vertical stick 23
- Disconnection of the telescopic bridge from the installation 30 is carried out in a reversing manner in relation to the mounting.
- the locking system of the receiving arrangement 20 is released and the horizontal guiding roller 39 is lowered, and thus the bridge is lifted off the outer vertical stick 23.
- the telescopic bridge 5 can then be pulled back along the hawser 15 until it is completely retracted.
- the hawser can then be disconnected at one end and pulled in (with a winch) as the vessel 25 leaves the installation 30.
- the telescopic bridge 5 can then be rotated to a transit position, and the vessel 25 is ready to head ashore.
- the method for connecting the vessel 25 to the installation 30 is shown, using the following steps:
- the vessel 25 is placed at a suitable distance from the installation 30.
- Gliding guiding devices 13, 14 are angled out in a V-shape, and buckles on a hawser 15 between the end pointsi 1 , 12 and which are arranged on a telescopic bridge 5 of the vessel 25, are moved away from the vessel 25 towards the installation 30, such that the hawser 15 is hooked onto a receiving arrangement 20 arranged on the installation 30, whereby the hawser connects the vessel 25 to the installation 30, the hawser is further tightened up, and the vessel is kept at a constant distance from the installation 30 by a constant propeller force in the direction away from the installation 30, and the telescopic bridge is brought out to the receiving
