Abstract

Dredging assembly (1) for reclaiming sand or minerals from a seafloor (9) or for excavating a trench in the seabed (9), comprising an elongated vessel (2), a submersible part (4) and hoisting mechanisms (26, 27, 28, 29) placed on the vessel (2) for from a number of hoist cables (10, 11, 12, 13) lowering the submersible part into the water alongside the vessel, wherein the submersible part is provided with an elongated pump part (5) and an elongated suction part (6) which at its front is connected to the rear of the pump part, wherein at its opposite rear the suction part is provided with a suction nozzle (62) which in the submerged condition of the submersible part rests on the seafloor (9), wherein the dredging assembly is provided with a flexible pipe (8) connecting the vessel and the pump part to each other for pumping reclaimed sand or minerals upwards therethrough.
