Definitions
- TABLE UTENSIL PROTECTOR This descriptive report of the Utility Model Patent is referred to as a TABLE UTENSIL PROTECTOR, which essentially aims to prevent the possibility of contamination generated by the end user, and more specifically the possibility of contamination of plates, cutlery and food containers in general, in food service outlets, in particular in self-service restaurants.
- Food is a basic necessity in any society and is capable of influencing the quality of life as it relates to the maintenance, prevention or recovery of health. It must be healthy, complete, varied, pleasant to the taste and safe to fulfill its role.
- Transformations in the contemporary world have brought about significant changes in the diet and eating habits of human beings, who have less and less enjoyed the domestic universe. These changes were caused by factors that permeate urbanization, industrialization, professionalization of women, raising the standard of living and education, the broader access of the population to leisure, the reduction of time for preparation and / or consumption. food, travel, among other factors.
- meal providers should not only be to feed, but to feed well. This means not only offering sensorially suitable products, but above all safe products especially with regard to hygiene and sanitation.
- a healthy diet recommends the ingestion of food with adequate sanitary and hygienic control, since contamination of products can cause serious damage to health, such as food poisoning.
- OTD foodborne disease
- Contamination of food begins in the production of raw materials and extends to the stages of transport, reception, storage. During handling there may be contamination by poor hygiene conditions of handlers, equipment, utensils, environment and improper storage conditions of ready-to-eat products.
- Food hygiene is fundamental to the quality assurance of food products and is part of all operations related to the handling of any foodstuff; requires proper procedures in the field, processing, distribution and consumption.
- Handler training programs emphasize the importance of individual and collective health, and include basic notions of personal and environmental hygiene, highlighting the damage that absence! of these precautions cause on the health of the consumer, in order to raise awareness their role in preventing OTD. They also underline the importance of consumers' awareness of their attitudes and the risks of product contamination in later stages of production and distribution, not only to minimize the emergence of OTD, but also to prevent product waste.
- Hands are an important vehicle of contamination in contact between individuals; between the individual and the food; between the individual and the equipment; between the individual and the utensil, and between the individual and the environment. Splashing on hands or any other surface can contaminate a large number of microorganisms.
- Hazard analysis using an instrument that aims to minimize the risks of contamination, contributing to food safety, also includes considering aspects that are beyond the control of the processor, such as self-service.
- the proposed TABLE GUARD PROTECTOR was designed and developed, which is basically and essentially a cover element, made of paper. recycled material, or any other material suitable for this purpose, which will be applied to utensils intended to contain the food, such as plates, platters, cups and others, as well as utensils intended to handle the food, such as cutlery in general, said cover element incorporating means capable of generating its secure adhesion to said utensils, further having means allowing their rapid attachment upon use of such utensils.

- the proposed TABLE PROTECTOR basically consists of a laminar element (1), which may be made of recycled paper or any other material suitable for this purpose, and may take a shape that varies according to the shape of the tool which will be applied, such as circular, quadrangular, rectangular, triangular or other, having, along its entire peripheral edge of the lower surface of said laminar element (1), a region where glue (2) is intended to be applied, said glue region being covered by a peelable tape (3) , which should be removed at the time of application of said laminar element on the appliance, and after its application, the appliance will be ready to be made available to the end user, which, at the time of use of said appliance, may remove the laminar element, by detaching the tape (4) disposed transversely to the laminar element, to provide an opening therein, whereby the remainder of said laminar element can then be completely removed from the utensil, thus allowing its safe use.
- a laminar element (1) which may be made of recycled paper or any other material suitable for this
- the glue application region (2) is positioned to generate an edge (5) on the laminar element.
