Abstract

본 발명은 예측 움직임 벡터를 사용하여 현재 블럭의 움직임 벡터를 부호화 및 복호화하기 위한 방법 및 장치에 관한 것으로, 다수의 예측 움직임 벡터를 사용하여 움직임 벡터 부호화 과정을 수행함으로써 움직임 벡터 부호화 효율을 향상시키는 한편, 어떤 예측 움직임 벡터가 부호화 과정에서 사용되었는지 여부를 표현하기 위해 소요되는 정보를 추가하지 않거나 최소화할 수 있는 움직임 벡터 부호화 및 복호화 방법과 장치를 제공한다.
