Abstract

HTTP 스트리밍 전송 중에 표현 스위칭이 일어날 경우의 자연스러운 재생을 가능케하는 처리 방법이 개시된다. 제 1 표현에 대해서, 스케일러블 비디오 코딩의 베이스 레이어로 구성된 복수의 세그먼트를 구성하는 단계, 상기 제 1 표현에 비해서 고화질의 제 2 표현에 대해서, 스케일러블 비디오 코딩의 인핸스드 레이어로 구성된 복수의 세그먼트를 구성하는 단계 및 상기 제 1 표현의 전송시에는 상기 제 1 표현에 대한 복수의 세그먼트 중 적어도 일부를 전송하고, 상기 제 2표현의 전송시에는 상기 제 1 표현에 대한 복수의 세그먼트 중 적어도 일부와 함께 상기 제 2 표현에 대한 복수의 세그먼트 중 적어도 일부를 전송하는 단계를 포함하여 구설될 수 있다. 따라서, 표현 스위칭이 발생될 경우, 제 2 표현에서 베이스 레이어만을 추출하여 다음에 재생될 저비트율 세그먼트를 디코딩할 때 참조하여 사용할 수 있기 때문에 화면의 끊김 없이 멀티미디어 컨텐츠를 제공할 수 있다.
