Abstract

The invention relates to an armature (10; 10a) for an electric machine (1), in particular a direct current motor, comprising a commutator (17; 17a) which is arranged in a rotationally fixed manner on an armature shaft (15) and which has an annular segment support body (18; 18a) on the peripheral surface of which commutator segments (19) are arranged, and comprising a magnetic element (25) as a constituent part of a sensor assembly for detecting the rotational angle position or speed of rotation of the commutator (17; 17a), wherein said element is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the armature shaft (15). According to the invention, the magnetic element (25) is formed as an integral part of the segment support body (18; 18a) and the commutator segments (19) are arranged at least approximately over the entire length of the commutator (17; 17a).
