Definitions
- the present invention aims at a system for monitoring, theft detection and tracking of hives that is adapted to the interior of the hive in order not to warn of its existence and thus avoid possible manipulation or theft thereof.
- the system includes an electronic device with an autonomy that allows operating times greater than 6 months, much longer than the time between honey collections, all without altering the normal operation of the hive, that is, the hive continues to perform efficiently for the beekeeper without altering the hive's behavior due to the presence of the electronic device.
- the geographical location capacity system is provided with maximum resolution via GPS and maximum sensitivity to achieve correct GPS coverage in the worst conditions, as well as the incorporation of environmental sensors for measuring value-added variables for the beekeeper
- the invention also aims at a method for carrying out the monitoring, theft detection and monitoring of hives.
- the former are simply able to detect the event of intrusion to the protected area by means of volumetric sensors or barriers, sending a warning via text message or phone call, but without any ability to track the stolen hives so it is only interesting for settlements in nearby areas or for monitoring and remote control.
- the way in which the user knows the exact position of the terminal is through text messages with angular coordinates to copy them in one of the geographic information systems, a very procedure cumbersome to track the stolen object in real time, and then be able to visualize the exact point on the map.
- the present system provides a technical solution to detect and perform the subsequent monitoring in the theft of beehives that occur, more and more frequently, in transhumant beekeeping settlements, settlements that are outside the reach of the beekeeper and with long periods of time elapsed between inspections that facilitates and even encourages potential thieves, in the Most expert cases of the world of beekeeping, in the subtraction of large quantities of hives in rustic settlements, even sometimes very difficult to access.
- the present invention relates to a system for monitoring, theft detection and tracking of hives that adapts to the interior of the hive in order not to warn of its existence and thus avoid possible manipulations or theft thereof, adapting to any type of hive .
- the monitoring, theft detection and tracking system consists of two elements, on the one hand an electronic device that enters the hive and performs the functions of subtraction detection, monitoring and tracking; and on the other, a data processing center that allows the positioning information and other variables that the electronic device transmits to the owner of the installation through graphic information that is very easy to interpret.
- the electronic device has a battery with an autonomy that allows operating times greater than 6 months, much longer than the time between honey collections, all without alter the normal operation of the hive, that is, the hive continues to perform efficiently for the beekeeper without altering the behavior of the hive by the presence of the electronic device.
- the electronic device has a microcontroller that is responsible for managing the operation of the entire system, managing energy consumption to achieve the widest possible autonomy, which is carried out by keeping the various elements disconnected so that they do not consume energy, except the element which allows to detect the movement of the hive at the time of theft and the detection of the opening of the hive.
- the electronic device is provided with a geographical location system with maximum resolution via GPS and maximum sensitivity to achieve a correct GPS coverage in the worst conditions, in addition to an assisted location system based on GSM / GPRS technology to support the GPS system in situations Low or no coverage.
- the electronic device is contained in a frame identical to those used inside the hive to collect honey so that its presence goes unnoticed by thieves, where in addition, to avoid damage caused by bees, it is completely covered by panels of wood veneer.
- the electronic device has sensors that allow monitoring the different parameters inside the hive: temperature, humidity, sound and especially the movement, based in devices such as accelerometers that allow to detect the movement produced when lifting or moving the hive, an unequivocal sign of theft.
- the invention also relates to a method for carrying out the monitoring, theft detection and monitoring of hives comprising the following steps:
- a microcontroller present in a device that can be connected to a hive and its communication with a data processing center.
- Figure 1 shows a scheme of the monitoring, theft detection and hive tracking system. PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION
- the hive monitoring, theft detection and tracking system has a data processing center that transmits the hive positioning information and other variables transmitted by an electronic device (1) arranged in the hive , to the owner of the installation, electronic device (1) that performs the functions of subtraction detection, monitoring and monitoring by means of a microcontroller (1.1) that is responsible for managing the operation of the entire system.
- a microcontroller 1.1
- the system allows the hive owner or the tracking service to be alerted at the time of theft by SMS and email and to follow up by geographical maps showing the exact position of the hive.
- This visualization is presented by a data processing center (2) through web pages and is accessible through the browser of a computer or a mobile phone.
- the electronic device (1) has a battery (1.3) that provides sufficient energy for the operation of the equipment autonomously between collection periods, preferably using lithium polymer batteries, in addition to a regulator (1.4) that allows feeding to the different elements from the battery voltage and make the most of its charge.
- the electronic device (1) presents a global positioning system (1.5) GPS or Galileo, which allows to know the coordinates of the position in which the device (1) is located with an accuracy of 3 meters, as well as a communication system GSM / GPRS wireless (1.6) that performs communication tasks with the data processing center (2) through mobile phone networks, ensuring that in any area where the hive is located it will be able to communicate, where the systems Communication employees have worldwide (quad-band) coverage secured by common infrastructure.
- the system uses GSM / GPRS technology for alternative hive positioning when there is no GPS coverage, for example inside buildings.
- the electronic device (1) has sensors (1.2) that allow monitoring the different parameters inside the hive to remotely know the conditions in which the hive is: temperature, humidity, sound, weight and especially that of movement, based on devices such as accelerometers that allow to detect the movement produced when lifting or moving the hive, an unequivocal sign of theft and the opening of the hive.
- the temperature (1.2.2) and humidity (1.2.3) sensors of the hive give an idea of the activity inside the hive, since having to keep these parameters within limits, in case of being outside an abnormality is indicated and an alarm is activated. In the same way, it provides information on the bad location of the hive, or settlement of hives, as well as the correct estimate of reserves of honey or food needed between blooms for the subsistence of the community and the queen bee.
- the absence of the same collection in the sound sensor (1.2.4) indicates that there is no activity of bees so that a bad situation is foreshadowed.
- the steep increase in buzzing may indicate situations of stress in the hive, normally caused by external agents, possible theft or an uncomfortable visit.
- a weight greater than Programmed detected by the weight sensor (1.2.5) can indicate that a sufficient amount of honey has been generated to start the collection or at least to schedule a visit to the apiary.
- the weight sensor (1.2.5) is located on the outside of the hive, below it, to be effective and will communicate the measured value periodically by means of wireless communication via a wireless beacon (1.7).
- a door status sensor (1.2.6) of the hive indicating whether it is open or closed is incorporated, which can be an infrared emitter-receiver to eliminate the influence of the daylight, a tamper switch or reed blister. It serves to alert the attempted theft without displacement of the hive.
- the electronic device (1) incorporates the wireless beacon (1.7) that is activated on demand from the data processing center (2) in order to be able to track over short distances and with greater precision than the one provided the global positioning system (1.5).
- the invention also relates to a method for carrying out the monitoring, theft detection and monitoring of hives comprising the following steps:
- microcontroller 1.1
- an electronic device attachable to a hive and its communication with a data processing center (2)
- the user For the activation of the microcontroller (1.1), the user must previously charge the battery (1.3) contained in a rack like those used inside the hive to collect honey, thus ensuring total autonomy.
- the frame To put the electronic device (1) attachable to the hive in operation in low consumption, the frame is inserted into the hive that you want to monitor and the electronics are activated to communicate with the data processing center (2) and indicate its position .
- the hive When you do this, the hive is automatically positioned on the tracking map. This activation places the hive in active mode. Once the new position is recognized, the microcontroller (1.1) leaves the system in low power consumption, from which it will wake up in any of the following situations: hive movement, detected by motion detector (1.2.1); Door opening, detected by a door opening detector (not shown) and periodically, as programmed, to communicate the battery charge status (1.3) and the parameters that you want to monitor.
- the data processing center (2) will receive, in any of the three previous cases, situations of movement or periodically, the hive information and, in case of theft, will notify the owner or the service responsible for monitoring by means of a pre-programmed SMS message and / or an email. Before this alarm, the person in charge of the monitoring will connect to the data processing center (2) after identification and will be able to track the hive by means of a map that places it in the position in which it is in real time.
- the system verifies that it has really changed position and no longer returns to the state of low consumption since it has to be transmitting the position in which it is continuously so that the owner can locate it wherever the thief takes it.
