Abstract

This invention relates to a monitoring, theft-detection and tracking system for beehives that is fitted inside the beehive so as not to reveal the existence thereof and to prevent any tampering or theft thereof, in which the system includes a stand-alone electronic device enabling operating times in excess of six months, which is much greater than the time between honey collections, all of which without altering the normal operation of the beehive, i.e. the beehive remains productive for the beekeeper and the presence of the electronic device does not affect the behavior of the beehive, the system also including geographical locating capabilities with maximum resolution using GPS and maximum sensitivity to ensure correct GPS coverage in the worst conditions.

The present invention relates to a monitoring system, theft detection and monitoring hives that fits inside the hive in order not to advertise its existence and thus prevent manipulation or theft thereof.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Currently known in the prior art two large groups of technologies applicable to tracking systems: wireless alarm systems and GPS tracking systems.

The first simply are able to detect the intrusion event to the area protected by motion sensors or barriers, sending a notice via text message or phone call, but no ability to track the beehives stolen so only interesting for settlements in nearby areas or to work monitoring and remote.

Among the above European patent is related to EP1357789 a method and system for managing and monitoring hives for transmitting various parameters (temperature, humidity, ...) but is not able to detect the theft thereof.

Also, in the Spanish patent with publication number ES2289919 one wireless communication system and a motion detector that notifies the theft of objects, including beehives, to the base station, but which can not later follow-up to locate described its new location. In this system, hives use the base station to transmit its parameters, so if it departs from communication would lose coverage.

An additional problem with these devices is the low autonomy of the complete system based on batteries, depending on the operation can not exceed 30 days, insufficient for such rustic settlement time.

Among the systems included in the second group they are exclusively designed for tracking vehicle fleets, pagers, etc. systems, which are fed with uninterruptible power (electrical circuit of the vehicle) and where there are no problems of autonomy as if present, or mobile phone-based limited to less than 12 days autonomies systems. The present system provides a technical solution to detect and subsequent monitoring thefts of hives that occur, with increasing frequency, in apiculture settlements trashumantes, settlements are outside the scope of the beekeeper and long periods of time after between inspections that facilitates and even encourages potential thieves, in most cases knowledgeable experts in the world of beekeeping in the removal of large quantities of hives in rustic settlements, sometimes even very difficult to access.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a monitoring system, theft detection and monitoring hives that fits inside the hive so as not to advertise its existence and prevent tampering or theft thereof, adapting to any kind of hives .

The monitoring system, theft detection and tracking is composed of two elements, firstly an electronic device that is introduced into the hive and performs the subtraction detection, monitoring and tracking; and secondly a processing center that can transmit data positioning information and other variables that transmits the electronic device to the owner of the installation using a graphical information easy to interpret.

The electronic device has a battery with an autonomy that allows times longer than 6 months of operation, much higher than the time between accessions from honey-time, all without altering the normal functioning of the hive, ie, the hive continues to perform efficiently for the beekeeper without being altered behavior of the hive by the presence of the electronic device.

Also, the electronic device (1) has sensors (1.2) to allow monitoring of various parameters inside the hive to remotely know the conditions in which the hive is: temperature, humidity, sound, weight and especially of movement based on devices such as accelerometers that detect the movement produced to lift or move the hive, a sign of theft and opening the hive.

Temperature sensors (1.2.2) and moisture (1.2.3) of the hive give an idea of ​​the activity inside the same, as having to maintain these parameters within limits, should be out thereof an abnormality is indicated and an alarm is activated. Similarly it provides information about the poor location of the hive, hives or settlement, as well as the correct estimation of reserves of honey or food necessary for subsistence blooms between the community and the queen bee.

It also includes, in this preferred embodiment a sensor of the state of the door (1.2.6) of the hive that indicates whether this is open or closed, which can be an infrared transceiver to eliminate the influence of the daylight, a tamper switch or reed phial. For activating the microcontroller (1.1), the user must load the battery (1.3) contained in a frame as used in the inside of the hive to collect honey, thus ensuring complete autonomy. To start the electronic device (1) attachable to the hive operation saving the frame is introduced into the hive to be monitored and electronics is activated to communicate with the central data processing (2) and indicate its position .

By doing this, the hive is automatically positioned on the tracking map. This activation puts the hive in active mode. Having recognized the new position the microcontroller (1.1) leaves the system in low power consumption, which will wake up in any of the following situations: hive movement detected by the motion detector (1.2.1); door opening detected by a detector door opening (not shown) and periodically, as programmed, for communicating the state of charge of battery (1.3) and monitor parameters of interest.

The central data processing (2) receive any of the three previous cases, situations motion or periodically, information from the hive and, in case of theft, notify the owner or the service responsible for monitoring via SMS pre-programmed and / or email. Before this alarm, the monitoring center will be connected to data processing (2) prior identification and can track the hive by a map that locates the position where you are in real time.
