Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for preparing transformed potato plants, according to which potato cells are transformed with a recombinant expression vector containing a fusion gene (YLRATRPM) or a fusion gene (YLRA), prepared by fusing genetic fragments obtained from each of the following five plant viruses: potato virus Y (PVY), potato leafroll virus (PLRV), potato virus A(PVA), tobacco rattle virus (TRV) and potato mop-top virus (PMTV), thus enabling the potato plants to exhibit resistance to all of the five or to all of three viruses used in the preparation of the fusion gene. The present invention also relates to the transformed potato plants prepared by the method.
