Abstract
A presente invenção descreve o processo de preparação, aplicação e recuperação de um material absorvente para compostos ou misturas de compostos apolares, tais como solventes orgânicos, petróleo e derivados, óleos lubrificantes, óleos comestíveis, mas não limitantes. O material absorvente é composto por uma matriz inorgânica de elevada porosidade, baixa densidade e elevada resistência mecânica. Esta matriz é hidrofobizada adquirindo a capacidade de absorção de compostos ou misturas de compostos apolares.
