Abstract
A machine for filling containers with milled product comprising a plurality of filling stations (5, 6), each of which is provided with a dispensing unit (7) that receives the product from a containment reservoir (3) and is located in a position that lies above a support (8) of a container (9) which is connected to weighing means (10), the dispensing unit (7) being provided with a ducted motorized screw feeder (11) to convey the product to a dispensing mouth (14a) at the underlying container (9), each dispensing unit (7) being provided with a helical peripheral band (15) which is connected to the shaft of the screw feeder (11) for conveying the product, and having an opposite orientation with respect to the screw feeder (11) in order to work on the product that arrives from the containment reservoir (3) before access to the screw feeder (11).
Description
MACHINE FOR FILLING CONTAINERS WITH MILLED PRODUCT Technical Field
The present invention relates to a machine for filling containers with milled product.
Background art
Machines are known which are designed to fill containers with milled products with different particle sizes, and comprise a plurality of filling stations which are very commonly associated with a rotating carousel, each station in turn comprising a dispensing unit which receives the product from a reservoir and is located above a support of a container which is connected to weighing means.
The dispensing unit is provided with a ducted motorized screw feeder, which conveys the product to a dispensing mouth provided at the underlying container.
In the operation of the described machines, at the screw feeder a situation of compaction of the product might occur, which interrupts the normal outflow of the product, with evident inconvenience for operators and loss of productivity.
Disclosure of the invention
The aim of the present invention is therefore to provide a filling machine that provides assurance against the danger of clogging of the product at the screw feeders of the dispensing units and furthermore provides an effective mixing action.
This aim and these and other objects which will become more apparent hereinafter are achieved by a machine for filling containers with milled product, according to the invention, as defined in claim 1.

the accompanying drawings, wherein:
Figure 1 is a schematic sectional view of the machine, taken along a diametrical line;
Figure 2 is a view of one of the dispensing units provided on the machine;
Figure 3 is a view of the dispensing unit without the side wall and the containment tube.
Ways of carrying out the invention
With reference to the figures, the reference numeral 1 generally designates a rotating carousel, which comprises a pan 2 and a reservoir 3 of a milled product 4.
The rotating carousel 1 has a plurality of filling stations 5, 6 associated with it, all stations having the same configuration; therefore, only the station 5 is described in detail and comprises a dispensing unit, generally designated by the reference numeral 7, which is located in a position that lies above a support 8 of a container 9 which is associated with the pan 2 with the inteiposition of weighing means 10, which comprise a load cell.
The dispensing unit 7 is provided with a screw feeder 1 1, which is arranged with a right-handed orientation around a driving shaft 12 driven by a motor 13 and is inserted in a containment tube 14, so as to be adapted to convey the product to a dispensing mouth 14a.
A helical peripheral band 15 is connected to the driving shaft 12 of the screw feeder 1 1 in a position that lies above the screw feeder and is oriented oppositely with respect to the screw feeder, and thus has a left- handed orientation.
The band 15 is accommodated within a side wall 16 connected to the containment tube 14 of the screw feeder 11, and the side wall is provided with an opening with walls 16a, which is open and connected to the reservoir 3 that contains the product to be dispensed, so as to allow the passage of the product.
A fully favorable operating condition is thus created: the product is in fact allowed into the screw feeder 11 only after it has been subjected to the action of the helical peripheral band 15, which due to the opposite orientation with respect to the screw feeder keeps the product in a condition that excludes any possibility of compaction, with consequent clogging at the screw feeder.
The described invention is susqeptible of numerous modifications and variations, all of which are within the scope of the appended claims. Thus, for example, the helical peripheral band 15 can be connected to the driving shaft 12 of the screw feeder 11 in a position that is laterally adjacent to the screw feeder.
In the practical embodiment of the invention, all the details may be replaced with other technically equivalent elements.

Where technical features mentioned in any claim are followed by reference signs, those reference signs have been included for the sole purpose of increasing the intelligibility of the claims and accordingly such reference signs do not have any limiting effect on the interpretation of each element identified by way of example by such reference signs.
Claims
1. A machine for filling containers with milled product, comprising a plurality of filling stations (5, 6), each of which comprises a dispensing unit (7) that receives a product from a containment reservoir (3) and is located in a position that lies above a support (8) of a container (9) which is connected to weighing means (10), said dispensing unit (7) being provided with a ducted motorized screw feeder (1 1), which is adapted to convey the product to a dispensing mouth (14a) at the underlying container (9), characterized in that each dispensing unit (7) is provided with a helical peripheral band (15) connected to the shaft of the screw feeder (1 1) for conveying the product, said band having an opposite orientation with respect to said screw feeder (1 1) and being adapted to work on the product that arrives from the containment reservoir (3) before access to the screw feeder (1 1).
2. The machine according to claim 1, characterized in that the helical peripheral band (15) is connected to the shaft (12) of the screw feeder (11) in a position that lies above said screw feeder (1 1).
3. The machine according to claim 1, characterized in that the helical peripheral band (15) is connected to the shaft (12) of the screw feeder (11) in a position that is laterally adjacent to said screw feeder (11).

The machine according to claim 1, characterized in that the helical peripheral band (15) connected to the shaft (12) of the screw feeder (1 1) for conveying the product is accommodated within a side wall (16) which is connected to the containment tube (14) of said screw feeder (1 1) and is provided with an opening (16a) toward the reservoir (3) for containing the product.
