Abstract
The winding belt press for separating liquids from solid substances where pressing pressure is increased by gradual tensioning of freely wound coils of the press wires (2), between which the pressed medium (3) is sandwiched.
Description
Winding Belt Press
Area of technology
The invention refers to the winding belt press for separating liquids from solid substances in the sphere of water purification and treatment in pulp and paper production, in chemical, food, mining and other industries.
Present situation of technology
Nowadays various types of presses are used for separating liquids from solid substances such as chamber filter presses, vacuum presses, membrane presses, and belt presses.
All of them have advantages and disadvantages in terms of acquisition cost, operating cost, output parameters , and suitability for use for given kind of pressed media.
Essence of the invention
The essence of the invention is the winding belt press, the principle of which is that liquid medium flows in between two wires that are wound or will be wound on the winding press roller (reel-system).
After gravity thickening the pressing process starts by tensioning freely wound coils of the press wires between which the pressed medium is sandwiched.
The pressure on the pressed medium is increased gradually by gradual tensioning of coils of the press wires, while liquid part flows out through channels created by the profile of rear side of the press wires pressed to each other.
After finishing the pressing process the press is emptied by means of reverse run.
The advantage of the equipment according to the invention is that it is possible to achieve large pressing area on a small-size equipment (length of wound wire * wire width).
The pressing pressure may be increased by means of the pressure roller.
Figure in the drawing
The invention is illustrated in the drawing in which the figure 1 shows the equipment according to the invention where the pressing pressure is created by gradual tensioning of freely wound coils of the press wires between which the pressed medium is sandwiched.
The pressing pressure may be increased by means of the pressure roller.
Example of the implementation of the invention
According to Figure 1 the winding belt press consists of the auxiliary rollers i, press wires 2, winding press roller 4, pressure roller 5, and scrapers 6.
The pressed medium 3 is sandwiched between the press wires 2. The press wires 2 are gradually tensioned from the middle of the winding press roller 4 by means of mechanical blocking of the auxiliary rollers 1 and increasing torque of the winding press roller 4 and in this way the pressing pressure is increased gradually. The pressing pressure is increased by depressing the pressure roller 5.
The winding press roller 4, auxiliary rollersI, and pressure roller 5 can be in vertical or horizontal position.
In case of vertical position of the rollers i, 4,_5, a shrinking seal is wound together with the wires in the bottom part between the press wires 2.
The shrinking seal of a certain thickness will secure that a spiral chamber 7 is created after the press wires 2_are wound. The spiral chamber is sealed from below by this shrinking seal. During the pressing process the shrinking seal and the pressed material 3 are shrunk together. In case of horizontal position of the rollers J_, 4,J>, the pressed medium can flow to the point 8.
In case of horizontal position of the rollersI, 4,_5, the shrinking seal is not necessary.
The pressed medium 3 is scraped from the press wires 2 by means of scrapers 6 during reverse run.
The equipment according to the invention can be used wherever a heavy-duty pressing capacity is necessary with small-size equipment.
