Le procédé comprend : lorsqu'un terminal bi-mode est mis sous tension, la recherche des cellules 3G et la détermination s'il existe ou non une cellule 3G satisfaisant les exigences de résidence; lorsqu'il existe une cellule 3G satisfaisant les exigences de résidence, la résidence dans la cellule 3G satisfaisant les exigences de résidence; sinon, la recherche des cellules de deuxième génération (2G) et la détermination s'il existe ou non une cellule 2G satisfaisant les exigences de résidence, et lorsqu'il existe une cellule 2G satisfaisant les exigences de résidence, la résidence dans la cellule 2G satisfaisant les exigences de résidence.
