Die Erfindung betrifft eine Laser-Schweißpistole, insbesondere zum Verschweißen von Kunststoff-Bauteilen (7, 7'), mit einem Gehäuse (1) und einer Laserstrahlen-Quelle (2). Es ist eine Linse (3) vorgesehen, die einen oder mehrere aus der Laserstrahlen-Quelle (2) austretende/n Laserstrahl/en (4) flächig aufspreizt, so dass aus dem Gehäuse (1) eine Laserstrahlung (5) austritt, deren Querschnittsfläche (A) um ein Vielfaches größer als die Querschnittsfläche (a) des/r aus der Laserstrahlen-Quelle (2) austretenden Laserstrahls/en (4) ist. Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ferner ein Verfahren zur Herstellung einer Schweißverbindung mit einer Laser-Schweißpistole nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 8.
Description
LASER - SCHWEISSPISTOLE MIT EINER DEN LASERSTRAHL FLÄCHIG AUFSPREIZENDEN LINSE ; VERFAHREN ZUR HERSTELLUNG EINER SCHWEISSVERBINDUNG MIT EINER SOLCHEN LASER- SCHWEISSPISTOLE
Die Erfindung betrifft eine Laser-Schweißpistole, insbesondere zum Verschweißen von Kunststoff-Bauteilen, mit einem Gehäuse und
- einer Laserstrahlen-Quelle.
Derartige Handgeräte zur Herstellung von Schweißverbindungen sind im Markt hinlänglich bekannt. Bei den bekannten Laser-Schweißpistolen muss während des Schweißvorgangs eine Vorschubbewegung von Hand vorgenommen werden, um die gewünschte Schweißflä- che herzustellen. Aufgrund dieser freihändigen Vorschubbewegung ist das Schweißergebnis häufig ungenau und es sind daher keine reproduzierbaren Schweißungen möglich. Ohne die beschriebene Vorschubbewegung können keine ausreichenden Festigkeiten der Schweißverbindungen erzeugt werden, da der austretende Strahl bei einem maximalen Durchmesser von 0,5 mm keine hinreichend große Schweißfläche erzeugt.
Vor diesem Hintergrund liegt der Erfindung die Aufgabe zugrunde, eine Laser-Schweißpistole zur Verfügung zu stellen, welche die Herstellung von exakten, reproduzierbaren Schweißverbindungen ermöglicht. Ausgehend von einer Laser-Schweißpistole mit den eingangs beschriebenen Merkmalen wird diese Aufgabe erfindungsgemäße dadurch gelöst, dass eine Linse vorgesehen ist, die einen oder mehrere aus der Laserstrahlen-Quelle austretende/n Laserstrahl/en flächig aufspreizt, so dass aus dem Gehäuse eine Laserstrahlung austritt, deren
Querschnittsfläche um ein Vielfaches größer als die Querschnittsfläche des/r aus der La- serstrahlen-Quelle austretenden Laserstrahls/en ist. Erfindungsgemäß ist die durch den Effekt der Linse von der Laserstrahlung beaufschlagte Fläche so groß, dass mit dieser Großpunkt-Schweißung ohne manuelle Vorschubbewegung der Laser-Schweißpistole die gewünschte Schweißverbindung hergestellt werden kann. Vorzugsweise ist die
Querschnittsfläche der Laserstrahlung mehr als zehn Mal, z.B. mehr als 20 bzw. mehr als fünfzig Mal so groß wie die Querschnittsfläche des aus der Laserstrahlen-Quelle austretenden Laserstrahls / die gesamte Querschnittsfläche der aus der Laserstrahlen-Quelle austretenden Laserstrahlen.
Zweckmäßigerweise ist die Laserstrahlen-Quelle als Diodenlaser ausgebildet. Hierbei handelt es sich um einen aus einem oder mehreren Laserdioden bestehenden, mit elektrischem Strom gepumpten Halbleiterlaser. Die Laserstrahlen-Quelle kann beispielsweise durch Betätigung eines am Gehäuse der Laser-Schweißpistole angeordneten Schalters manuell betätigt werden.
Vorzugsweise ist die Linse als Planlinse ausgebildet. Gemäß einer Ausführungsform der Erfindung ist an dem Gehäuse ein Andruckglas angeordnet, durch das die Laserstrahlung das Gehäuse verlässt. Bei der Herstellung der Schweißverbindung wird das Andruckglas auf den zu verschweißenden Bereich aufgedrückt, so dass die Fügepartner spaltfrei aneinander anliegen. Danach erfolgt durch Betätigung der Laserstrahlen-Quelle die Erzeugung eines Laser-Impulses, welcher die gewünschte Schweißverbindung herstellt. Vorzugsweise ist die Laserstrahlen-Quelle derart ausgebildet, dass die daraus austretenden Laserstrahlen eine linienförmige Querschnittsfläche bilden. Die Linse ist zweckmäßigerweise derart ausgebildet, dass die Laserstrahlung eine, zumindest im Wesentlichen, kreisförmige oder alternativ rechteckige Querschnittsfläche aufweist. Gemäß einer Ausführungsform der Erfindung ist in Strahlungsrichtung gesehen hinter der Linse (also bei vor- handenem Andruckglas zwischen Linse und Andruckglas) ein Hohlprofil mit einer vorzugsweise polierten inneren Oberfläche angeordnet, durch das die aufgespreizte Laserstrahlung hindurchtritt. Bei diesem Hohlprofil kann es sich beispielsweise um ein Metallrohr handeln.
Zweckmäßigerweise ist eine Geräte-Elektronik vorgesehen, mit deren Hilfe eine Leistungs- und / oder Zeitsteuerung der Laserstrahlen-Quelle erfolgt. Diese Geräte-Elektronik ist z.B. ebenfalls innerhalb des Gehäuses untergebracht.
Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ferner ein Verfahren zur Herstellung einer Schweißverbindung mit einer Laser-Schweißpistole nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 8, wobei die Laser-Schweißpistole zum Schweißen von zwei zu verbindenden Fügepartnern auf diese aufgesetzt und angedrückt wird, wobei danach durch eine Betätigung der Laser-Schweißpistole ein zeitlich begrenzter Laserstrahl-Impuls ausgelöst wird, der die Fügefläche erwärmt und in einen zumindest gelartigen Zustand überführt und
wobei danach ein Nachdrücken mit der Laser-Schweißpistole auf die Fügefläche bis zur Verfestigung derselben erfolgt. Da keine manuelle Vorschubbewegung erforderlich ist, wird mit dem vorstehend beschriebenen Verfahren in reproduzierbarer Weise ein exaktes Schweißergebnis erzielt, so dass die hergestellte Schweißverbindung definierte Kennwerte (Festigkeit etc.) aufweist.
Die erfindungsgemäße Laser-Schweißpistole ist insbesondere zum Verschweißen von In- nenanbauteilen von Kfz-Stoßfängern aus Kunststoff sowie zum Verschweißen von Kunststofffolienstücken gleichen Materials geeignet. Darüber hinaus können generell dünnwandige thermoplastische Materialien gegen alle Wandstärken gleichartiger Materialien mit Hilfe der erfindungsgemäßen Laser-Schweißpistole miteinander verschweißt werden. Die Lasertransparenz ist nicht mehr Voraussetzung zur Herstellung einer entsprechenden Schweißverbindung. Generell kann mit der erfindungsgemäßen Lehre jedoch auch eine Verschweißung von beliebigen anderen Materialien, z.B. Metall, erfolgen.
Im Folgenden wird die Erfindung anhand einer lediglich ein Ausführungsbeispiel darstellenden Zeichnung ausführlich erläutert. Es zeigen schematisch:
Fig. 1 eine erfindungsgemäße Laser-Schweißpistole in einer dreidimensionalen
Darstellung und
Fig. 2 das Herstellen einer Schweißverbindung mit der erfindungsgemäßen Laser- Schweißpistole gemäß Fig. 1.
Fig. 1 zeigt eine als Handgerät ausgebildete Laser-Schweißpistole, die insbesondere zum Verschweißen von Kunststoff-Bauteilen vorgesehen ist. Generell wird das Verschweißen anderer Materialien jedoch ausdrücklich nicht ausgeschlossen. Die Laser-Schweißpistole weist ein Gehäuse 1 auf, in dem eine Laserstrahlen-Quelle 2 angeordnet ist. Ferner ist im Gehäuse 2 eine Linse 3 vorgesehen, die die aus der Laserstrahlen-Quelle 2 austretenden Laserstrahlen 4 zu einer Laserstrahlung 5 flächig aufspreizt. Die Linse 3 bewirkt, dass aus dem Gehäuse 1 eine Laserstrahlung 5 austritt, deren Querschnittsfläche A um ein Vielfaches größer als die gesamte Querschnittsfläche a der aus der Laserstrahlen-Quelle 2 aus- tretenden Laserstrahlen 4 ist. Die Laserstrahlen-Quelle 2 ist derart ausgebildet, dass die daraus austretenden Laserstrahlen 4 eine linienförmige Querschnittsfläche a bilden. Im
Ausführungsbeispiel beträgt die Abmessung dieses linienförmigen Querschnitts a 0,5 mm bis 1 ,5 mm in der Breite und 8 mm bis 12 mm in der Länge, beispielsweise 1 mm x 10 mm. Die Linse 3 ist als Planlinse ausgebildet und bewirkt, dass die Laserstrahlung 5 eine kreisförmige Querschnittsfläche A aufweist, beispielsweise mit einem Durchmesser von 8 bis 12 mm, z.B. ca. 10 mm.
Die Laserstrahlen-Quelle 2 ist als Diodenlaser ausgebildet. In dem Gehäuse 1 ist ferner ein Andruckglas 6 angeordnet, durch das die Laserstrahlung 5 das Gehäuse 1 verlässt. Während des Schweißvorganges wird dieses Andruckglas 6 auf die zu verbindenden Fügepart- ner 7,7' (s. Fig. 2) mit leichtem Druck aufgesetzt, so dass sich eine spaltfreie Anlage der Fügepartner 7,7' ergibt. Wie der Fig. 1 zu entnehmen ist, ist in Strahlungsrichtung gesehen hinter der Linse 2, also zwischen Linse 2 und Andruckglas 6, ein Metall-Hohlprofil 8 mit einer polierten inneren Oberfläche angeordnet, durch das die aufgespreizte Laserstrahlung 5 hindurchtritt. Entsprechend ist auch dieses Hohlprofil 8 innerhalb des Gehäuses 1 angeordnet. Ferner kann der Fig. 1 entnommen werden, dass das Gehäuse 1 zur manuellen Handhabung der Laser-Schweißpistole einen Griff 12 aufweist, an dem ein Schalter 9 zur manuellen Betätigung des Diodenlasers 2 angeordnet ist. Zusätzlich ist innerhalb des Gehäuses 1 eine (nicht näher dargestellte) Geräte-Elektronik vorgesehen, mit deren Hilfe eine Leistungs- und / oder Zeitsteuerung des Diodenlasers 2 erfolgt. Die Laser- Schweißpistole weist ferner einen (ebenfalls nicht näher dargestellten) Stromanschluss auf, der zur Energieversorgung des Diodenlasers 2 dient.
In Fig. 2 ist ein erfindungsgemäßes Verfahren zur Herstellung einer Schweißverbindung mit einer Laser-Schweißpistole gemäß Fig. 1 dargestellt. Zunächst wird die Laser-Schweiß- pistole zum Schweißen von zwei zu verbindenden Fügepartnern 7,7' auf diese aufgesetzt und angedrückt. Danach wird durch eine Betätigung der Laser-Schweißpistole mittels des Schalters 9 ein zeitlich begrenzter Laserstrahl-Impuls im Diodenlaser 2 ausgelöst, der die Fügefläche 10 erwärmt und in einen zumindest gelartigen Zustand überführt. Danach erfolgt ein Nachdrücken mit der Laser-Schweißpistole auf die Fügefläche 10 bis zur Verfesti- gung derselben. Der gelartige Zustand der Fügefläche 10 wird in Fig. 2 durch einen
Schmelzebereich 11 schematisch dargestellt. Innerhalb des Gehäuses 2 der Laserstrahlen- Pistole ist ferner eine nicht näher dargestellte Kühlungseinrichtung zur Kühlung des Diodenlasers 2 vorgesehen.
Claims
Patentansprüche
Laser-Schweißpistole, insbesondere zum Verschweißen von Kunststoff-Bauteilen, mit einem Gehäuse (1) und
einer Laserstrahlen-Quelle (2), dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass eine Linse (3) vorgesehen ist, die einen oder mehrere aus der Laserstrahlen-Quelle (2) austretende/n Laserstrahl/en (4) flächig aufspreizt, so dass aus dem Gehäuse (1) eine Laserstrahlung (5) austritt, deren
Querschnittsfläche (A) um ein Vielfaches größer als die Querschnittsfläche (a) des/r aus der Laserstrahlen-Quelle (2) austretenden Laserstrahls/en ist.
Laser-Schweißpistole nach Anspruch 1 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Laserstrahlen-Quelle (2) als Diodenlaser ausgebildet ist.
Laser-Schweißpistole nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Linse (3) als Planlinse ausgebildet ist.
Laser-Schweißpistole nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass an dem Gehäuse (1) ein Andruckglas (6) angeordnet ist, durch das die Laserstrahlung (5) das Gehäuse (1) verlässt.
Laser-Schweißpistole nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Laserstrahlen-Quelle (2) derart ausgebildet ist, dass die daraus austretenden Laserstrahlen (4) eine linienförmigen Querschnittsfläche (a) bilden.
Laser-Schweißpistole nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Linse (3) derart ausgebildet ist, dass die Laserstrahlung (5) eine, zumindest im Wesentlichen, kreisförmige oder rechteckige Querschnittsfläche (A) aufweist.
Laser-Schweißpistole nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass in Strahlungsrichtung gesehen hinter der Linse (3) ein Hohlprofil (8) mit einer,
vorzugsweise polierten, inneren Oberfläche angeordnet ist, durch das die
aufgespreizte Laserstrahlung (5) hindurchtritt.
Laser-Schweißpistole nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass eine Geräte-Elektronik vorgesehen ist, mit deren Hilfe eine Leistungs- und / oder Zeitsteuerung der Laserstrahlen-Quelle (2) erfolgt.
Verfahren zur Herstellung einer Schweißverbindung mit einer Laser-Schweißpistole nach einem der Ansprüche 1 bis 8, wobei die Laser-Schweißpistole zum Schweißen von zwei zu verbindenden Fügepartnern auf diese aufgesetzt und angedrückt wird, wobei danach durch eine Betätigung der Laser-Schweißpistole ein zeitlich begrenzter Laserstrahl-Impuls ausgelöst wird, der die Fügefläche erwärmt und in einen zumindest gelartigen Zustand überführt und wobei danach ein Nachdrücken mit der Laser-Schweißpistole auf die Fügefläche bis zur Verfestigung derselben erfolgt.
