Abstract

Machining tools that cause thin and wide chips during the cutting process generally tend to be instable, which can lead to rattling during machining. For peeling blades supported in a floating manner, opposite cutting edges can no longer be adequately stabilized. The result is that both cutting edges start to rattle and mutually amplify the undesired motions of the cutting edges. The aim of the invention is to eliminate said rattling. Said aim is achieved by an insert (500), in particular an indexable insert (500) for internal peeling of metal pipes (290), wherein the insert has a first cutting edge (16), which is formed in particular by the first cutting surface (19) and a first cutting-edge support chamfer (20), wherein the insert has a first fastening receptacle (9, 9a, 9b) in an advancing direction and a second fastening receptacle (9, 9a, 9b) opposite to said advancing direction so that the insert (500) can be fastened both in the advancing direction and in a rotational direction, wherein a rotational axis of the rotational direction is oriented axially parallel to the advancing direction.
