  • the base panel (1) is further provided with recesses for (lc) fastening the resilient seat panel (2) onto it and hence the resilient panel (2) can be held securely.
  • the base panel (1) is a single piece molded panel manufactured by injection molding process.
  • the material used to manufacture the panels has to be rigid so as to support the body weight.
  • the said panels can be manufactured using polypropylene plastic material.
  • the disclosed ribs (la) pattern forms grid onto the panels (1), wherein ribs (la) are drawn as rows and columns.

  • the perforations (2a) patterns can be made in various shapes including but not limiting to circular, rectangular, and oval. Further the number of perforations (2a) can also be varied upon considering factors of heat dissipation and the load up to which it is desired to bear.
  • FIG. 3 is an exemplary embodiment which illustrates assembling sequence of the panels; wherein resilient seat panel (2) is mounted above the base panel (1) in such a way that substantial contour portion of the seat panel (2) is rested onto the base panel (2) so as to create space in-between the panels.

  • the fastening members can be selected from group including but not limited to screws, nails, rivets, nuts and bolts, and sleeve anchors or any other fastener which serve the purpose.
  • the present disclosure provides for a way of construction for office chair seating that uses two layers of molded plastic seat panels (1 and 2).
  • the resilient seat panel (2) has regular pattern of perforations which make seat flexible and allows free flow of air.
  • the base panel (1) with rigid construction provides for load bearing seat connectivity to the chair mechanism and also has provision for a slits (lb) to allow for the air flow.
  • the combined assembly of these two parts i.e. the resilient seat panel (2) and the base panel (1) makes the seating device comfortable to sit on by any occupant for long hours of working without a buildup of body heat.
  • the two piece seat panel construction of the seating device provides for facility to add foam cushioning material (3) on top with fabric or leather upholstery. The leather upholstery can be tied using strings on top of the seat panel (2).

  • the principle of this arrangement may further be adapted to provide cushioning effect for beds, sofas, and any other related furniture systems.
  • the air cushioning effect disclosed in this disclosure makes use of minimal number of components. Further, two panels (1 and 2) are being light in weight; it would also ease the transporting and handling difficulties.
