  • first pair of parallel creases to create a further second layer, or complete the second layer partially formed by said first end, such that bond can form therebetween; wherein the spacing between the first pair of parallel creases, and the spacing between the second pair of parallel creases, substantially correspond to the thickness of the closed cell coreboard.
  • the creases can be formed in the sheet by a variety of means.
  • the creases can be formed through merely pressing on the sheet with a wheel or former.
  • a wheel having a wedge shaped edge can be run across the sheet to press downwards to provide the deformation required to fold the board along the crease.
  • the folding can be achieved by a number of ways, for example manually or with the use of pressure plates that support and push the boards to the required angle.
  • a 10mm thick sheet of closed cell coreboard may have two parallel creases spaced around 10 mm apart. These are preferably positioned across the sheet of closed cell board approximately one third of the way along the length of the sheet.
  • a second pair of parallel creases may be positioned a further third of the way along the sheet of closed cell coreboard with creases spaced 20 mm apart.
  • the first fold is made in the vicinity of the first crease line.
  • the spacing between this pair of creases takes into account the thickness of the closed cell coreboard (approximately 10 mm).
  • a further advantage provided by the present invention is the fact the rounded corners on the edges provide an aesthetically pleasing look to the laminated board and any product made thereof, for instance, a pallet. Furthermore, the rounded edge provides strength and impact resistance to minimise damage as may be inflicted repeated handling by forklifts and the like.

  • the U-shaped channel (60) in use can be used for supporting lengths of flexible material such as pipes or cables.
  • the folding technique used for the U-shaped channel can also be used for folding closed cell coreboard into boxes or other support structures.
  • FIG 11 shows a laminated board (110) as shown in Figure 8 which has been wrapped in Kraft paper (111) which is glued to the laminated board so as to form the outer surface thereof.
  • the Kraft paper (111 ) acts a protective barrier.
  • Kraft paper (not shown) is also preferably wrapped around and affixed to the base (102) of the pallet (100) shown in Figure 10.
