Abstract

A power supply device which supplies power to an electric vehicle in a magnetic induction method, includes a plurality of power supply core units. Each of the power supply core units has a plurality of magnetic poles arranged at a predetermined distance from each other along a traveling direction of a road and has a width equal to or less than 1/2 of the distance between the magnetic poles in a direction perpendicular to the traveling direction of the electric vehicle on the road. Further, the power supply device includes a plurality of power supply lines arranged along the traveling direction of the electric vehicle on the road such that the magnetic poles of the adjacent power supply core units have different polarities.
