Description

Homogenizing mixer device for preparing and cooking food.
The present invention relates to a homogenizing mixer device for preparing and cooking food. In particular, the invention relates to a homogenizing mixer device for preparing and cooking food with steam.
Homogenizing mixers of the type comprising a water boiler generating steam which is fed into a container, in which a food to be cooked is placed, are known for a long time.
EP971616 describes a device for heating and/or cooking food comprising: a steam generator producing steam for heating or cooking food; a cooking container, receiving a removable cooking basket provided with through apertures arranged at the base to allow the steam through. The container is reversibly closed at its upper end with a removable lid. The removable lid is provided with a through aperture, to allow the steam generator to communicate with the cooking container inside, and particularly the cooking basket inside. The container is further provided with a through aperture arranged substantially near the top end of the wall defining it.
CH 696134 describes a homogenizer blender device of the type comprising a base carrying a steam boiler in which steam is generated to be fed, via a channel opening laterally to the boiler into a container flanking the boiler and removably positioned on the base. The aforementioned container is open at an upper end where a closure element is present and contains a removable basket suitable for containing a food to be subjected to preparation, such as thawing or steam cooking. The opening of the boiler channel faces an aperture in the closure element through which the steam from the boiler penetrates into the container.
The Applicant has observed that in known devices, such as those described above, usually the steam generator is arranged laterally of the container receiving the food, and the food is reached by the steam coming from a channel extending crosswise from the generator to the food container.
The Applicant has noted that in such devices the construction of ducts for conveying the steam form the generator to the food is, exactly because of the arrangement of the generator relative to the cooking container, very complicated and the duct path is articulated.
A complicated construction and an articulated path of the duct conveying the steam, besides reducing the construction reliability of the device, may cause head losses and thus a reduction in the device efficiency.
The Applicant has further noted that a construction such as that of the devices described above involves a loss of space and ergonomics.
The Applicant has found that it is possible to reduce the construction complication of the device and to increase the efficiency and reliability thereof by placing the steam generator in the support base below the food container and by extending vertically the duct from the generator directly inside the container.
In a first aspect thereof, the invention relates to a homogenizing mixer device for preparing and cooking food comprising:
- at least one steam generator intended to produce steam for heating and/or cooking food; - at least one cooking container;
- at least one cooking basket removably receivable in said at least one cooking container and provided with through openings, intended to allow the steam through;
- at least one removable lid for reversibly closing the said cooking container at the top;
characterized in that:
- said cooking container is arranged above and at least partially overlapping the said steam generator; and in that
- said device comprises at least one duct for conveying the steam from said steam generator to said cooking container, which extends vertically inside the said cooking container.
Advantageously, the cooking container fully overlaps the steam generator.
Such a choice allows the ergonomics of the device to be increased and further space to be saved.
Advantageously, the device comprises at least one support base for containing the said steam generator.
Preferably, the cooking container is removably mounted on the said support base.
Preferably, the steam generator may comprise at least one water tank and at least one heating unit for heating the water contained in the tank.
Advantageously, the device may comprise at least one rotary tool for cutting and mixing the food, contained inside the said container, at least one electric motor for making at least the said tool to rotate and a gearbox for transmitting the motion form said electric motor to said tool.
Suitably, the cooking container may comprise a receiving guide formed at an inner wall for housing at least partially the duct for conveying the steam.
Alternatively, the duct for conveying the steam can be formed integral with an inner wall of the cooking container.
Preferably, the duct for conveying the steam extends vertically up to a height H greater than 60% of the depth of the cooking container.
Alternatively, the duct for conveying the steam extends vertically up to a height H greater than 10% of the depth of the cooking container,
In this case, preferably the duct for conveying the steam extends vertically up to a height H lower than 50% of the depth of the cooking container.
Advantageously, the duct for conveying the steam comprises a hole formed at an upper end thereof for letting the steam out.
Suitably, the cooking container may be made of polypropylene.
Preferably, the cooking basket may be made of polypropylene.
Such a choice is particularly advantageous in devices, such as that of the present invention, intended for preparing or cooking food, since it avoids the risk that portions of the material of which the baskets are made may be dissolved into the food, causing health problems.
Further features and advantages of the invention shall become clearer from the detailed description of some preferred but not exclusive embodiments of a homogenizing mixer device for preparing and cooking food, according to the present invention.
Such a description shall be presented hereafter with reference to the accompanying drawings, provided only for indicating, and thus non-limiting, purposes, wherein:
- figure 1 is a schematic lateral view of an embodiment of a homogenizing mixer device for preparing and cooking food, according to the present invention;
- figure 2 is a schematic sectional view of the device of figure 1 ;
- figure 3 is a schematic exploded view of the device of figure 1 ; and
- figure 4 is a schematic sectional view of an enlarged portion of the device of figure 1.
Referring to figures 1-4, a homogenizing mixer device for preparing and cooking food, according to the present invention, is indicated with reference numeral 1.
The homogenizing mixer device 1 comprises a steam generator 2 intended to produce steam for heating and/or cooking food;
- at least one cooking container 3;
- at least one cooking basket 4 removably receivable in the cooking container 3 and provided with through openings 31 , intended to allow the steam through,
- at least one removable lid 5 for reversibly closing the said cooking container 3 at the top.
According to an important aspect of the present invention the cooking container 3 is arranged above and at least partially overlapping the steam generator 2.
The device 1 comprises at least one duct 7 for conveying the steam from said generator 2 to said cooking container 3, which extends vertically inside the cooking container 3.
The cooking container 3, as better shown in figure 3, has a hollow cylindrical shape and is open at the top for removably receiving the cooking basket 4 suitable for containing the food to be prepared with steam. In the preferred embodiment shown in the figures the cooking container 3 is made of polypropylene.
At an external lateral wall, the cooking container 3 has a handle 12 for making easier the handling of the same cooking container 3. At the upper edge of the lateral wall, in a position diametrically opposite to the handle 12, it is further provided a spout 13 for helping the pouring of the liquid or semi- liquid products present in the cooking container 3.
The upper opening 14 of the cooking container 3 is removably closed by the lid 5 which mates with the profile of the said opening 14.
The cooking basket 4 has a hollow cylindrical shape open at the top, which follows the inner shape of the cooking container 3.
The cooking basket 4, made of a semi-transparent plastic material suitable for food, has at its bottom, as through openings, a plurality of circular holes 31 for allowing the steam through. In the preferred embodiment shown in the figures, the cooking basket 4 is made of polypropylene.
Such a choice is particularly advantageous in devices, such as that of the present invention, intended for preparing or cooking food, since it avoids, or in any case reduces, the risk that substances harmful to health are dissolved into the food.
The cooking container 3 is removably mounted on a support base 8 having a frusto-pyramidal shape. The said support base 8 contains the steam generator 2.
In detail, said cooking container 3 is mounted on the said support base 8 so as to protrude with respect to the said support base 8 by a length L corresponding to 50% of the maximum dimension of the support base 8 at most.
In the embodiment shown in the figures, as the maximum dimension it is intended the diameter of the bottom surface of the support base 8.
Moreover, according to such an embodiment, the container does not protrude, leaving out minor portions, such as the spout 13 and the handle 12, with respect to the bottom surface of the said support base 8.
In this way, the cooking container 3 fully overlaps the support base 8 and therefore the steam generator 2.
As previously mentioned, the support base 8 contains the steam generator 2, which is made up of a water tank 10 and at least one heating unit 11 for heating the water contained in the said tank 10.
The heating unit 11 is a heating unit of known type and thus not further described.
In order to allow the water tank 10 to be refilled, the latter communicates with the outside through an opening provided at the upper surface of the support base 8. The opening is closed by suitable removable cap 16, see figure 3.
In the lower portion of the cooking container 3 a rotary cutting tool 33 is provided, such as for example a rotary double blade 18 operated, when the cooking container is placed on the support base 8, by a driving shaft 19 actuated by an electric motor 20, for example of the brushless type. The rotary double blade 18 allows the food to be mixed in the cooking container 3.
The electric motor 20 and partially the shaft 19 are contained in the support base 8.
A gearbox 21 transmits the motion form said electric motor 20 to said shaft 19.
On the base 8 are further provided control means 23 for controlling from outside the functions of the said device. Such control means are of a known type and thus not described in further detail.
As previously mentioned, the device 1 comprises a duct 7 for conveying the steam from the steam generator 2 to the cooking container 3, which extends vertically inside the cooking container 3.
For this purpose, directly above the steam generator 2 there is arranged a frusto-pyramidal conveying hood 35 and, above the latter, a straight flexible fitting 36 , which then extends out of the support base 8 into the duct 7.
The duct 7 extends vertically inside the cooking container 3 up to a height H greater than 60% of the depth of the cooking container 3, so that the steam reaches the food contained therein from above.
The duct 7 has a height greater than the depth of the cooking basket 4.
Alternatively, the duct for conveying the steam extends vertically up to a height H greater than 10% of the depth of the cooking container.
In this case, preferably the duct for conveying the steam extends vertically up to a height H lower than 50% of the depth of the cooking container. The duct 7 has a substantially elliptical cross section in order to reduce the space taken inside the cooking container 3, and is provided at an upper end thereof with a hole 22 for letting the steam out.
The hole 22 faces towards the centre of the cooking container 3.
For holding the duct 7 inside the cooking container 3 and in particular to an inner surface thereof, a guide 32 is provided consisting of two wings 37 having a shape and dimension suitable for at least partially surrounding the duct 7 for the steam.
The two wings 37 have a height corresponding to the height of the duct 7, but they could also have a different height without departing from the scope of protection of the present invention.
Alternatively, according to an embodiment not shown, the duct for conveying the steam can be made integral with an inner wall of the cooking container.
During operation, the steam generated by the steam generator 2 reaches, through the duct 7 and the hole 22, the food contained in the cooking basket 4 from above. The steam coming out from the holes 31 rises in the space defined between the cooking basket 4 and the cooking container 3 and exits at a purposely provided clearance between the spout 13 and the upper lid 5.
