Abstract

The invention relates to an exercise bench especially designed to be placed in spaces for public use, which combines its function as an element for doing exercise with aesthetics such that it can be integrated, as a decorative element, into a space for public use such as a garden, a children's playground, a shopping centre or the like. The bench comprises a series of vertical posts (1, 2 y 3), horizontal posts (4, 5 and 6) and transverse posts (7, 8, 9, 10 and 11), two supporting boards (15 and 16), grab bars (12), and cylindrical bars (13 and 14). The most striking characteristic of said bench is the fact that it can be designed as a novel reinterpretation of the known Rietveld chair on a larger scale, as a monument, urban sculpture or symbol, the initial concept of said bench having been transformed in a revolutionary manner by modifying its original components and introducing other new components enabling it to carry out the functions described.

D E S CR IP C OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

The present invention, as specified in the title of the present report, refers to an exercise bench specially configured to be arranged in public use spaces which allows users to carry out a complete gymnastics table in a single element, combining this function with an aesthetic that allows its integration as a decorative element in a space for public use such as garden, playground or similar. The main application of this device will be found within the urban furniture manufacturing industry. BACKGROUND

A wide variety of exercise benches that have varied accessories and many different designs are known today. These benches, however, are not configured for outdoor installation, with mobile parts that need periodic maintenance and that are exposed to atmospheric conditions and suffer rapid deterioration. Also, traditionally these elements are not configured as a design element on a sculptural scale of reference There are, on the other hand, elements of street furniture that serve to perform certain exercises, such as fixed bars or hanging rings for exercising arms, pedals for leg exercises, etc .; being only valid for the realization of a single group of exercises, and therefore suffering from versatility in that it is necessary to have in one place several of these exercise equipment to allow to perform a complete gymnastic table

For all this, it would be desirable the appearance of an element of urban furniture that would combine the performance of various types of exercises on the same element, it is enough to be able to make a complete gymnastics table, with adequate durability and resistance characteristics to Atmospheric agents, both properties that meets the invention described in the specification.

It is also worth mentioning the fact that in these elements of street furniture, the aesthetic component is of great importance, since it must be properly integrated in a public use space, often next to children's play areas, gardens, shopping centers, hotels, etc., so that it is necessary that, together with the aforementioned versatility and durability characteristics, it is possible to have a playful and aesthetically pleasing configuration. This being the case, it will be promoted that parents who accompany their children to the park can do more than wait, going from simple spectators to active participants, in addition to instilling by means of the example, the realization of physical exercise in the little ones.

As indicated in the following sections, the present invention is configured from the well-known Rietveld Chair, helping us to reinterpret this chair as an object recognized worldwide, enlarged to make it a landmark, sculpture urban or symbol, and whose initial concept has been transformed revolutionaryly, through the modification of its original components and the introduction of new ones, so that a device of the characteristics mentioned in the previous paragraphs is obtained, preserving a neoplasticist aesthetic in terms of Its finishes and colors. This configuration also allows a modern interpretation of the element with minimalist finishes.

No similar device is known by the owner of the present invention that solves the problem posed analogously to how the present invention does so that the novelty of the present invention is considered obvious, which will provide numerous advantages to the industry. of urban furniture manufacturing. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION.

The exercise bench for public spaces that is recommended is configured from a support structure formed by three pairs of vertical crossings of different lengths, which will be referred to as anterior, intermediate and posterior; that are arranged aligned in two rows each composed of them by a cross member of each couple. These vertical elements are braced by another pair of longitudinal crossbars that join the elements of each of the rows at an approximate height of 30 cm measured from the ground. Two horizontally located flat crossbars join the upper end of the intermediate vertical crossbar with the rear crossbar, which is the longest of these. Said flat crossbars will have handles made by cylindrical pieces in their encounter with the intermediate vertical crossbars and at their udder end. Both rows of conveniently braced vertical crossbars will be joined by a series of transverse crossbars, two of them located in the encounter of the pair of previous vertical crossbars and in the meeting of the pair of intermediate vertical crossbars with the horizontal bracing crossbar. Said transverse crosspieces shall be arranged first in the upper part of said meeting and the other in the lower part, so that they are misaligned in order to subsequently have a support table on them that should be conveniently inclined. Two other transverse crossbars will be located in the encounter of the flat crossbars with the rear verticals and at the upper end of said rear crossbars.

The cross traverse that joins the previous verticals will also have at its end cylindrical handles equal to those mentioned above.

The unions between crossings will be made in such a way that the ends will protrude approximately 10 cm on each side of the joint. In the meeting of the horizontal bracing crossbar with the rear verticals of a pair of short-length pieces that will stand out in the same way and allow maintaining the aesthetic balance of the device.

The recommended exercise bench will have two cylindrical bars for the execution of various exercises. These bars will be located one at the top end of the front vertical crossbars, and one at the top end of the rear vertical ones, protruding towards the rear of the bench by another pair of short length pieces

The support tables on which various exercises will be carried out will be two, one arranged, as discussed, with a certain tilt supported between transverse crossbars that have been misaligned; and another that will be vertically attached to the transverse crossbars located on the back of the device. In an optional embodiment of the described invention, it is possible to incorporate movable cylindrical handles, so that it is possible to adjust the distance between these handles for the convenience of each user. These movable handles are configured by means of a base housed inside a grooved area along which it is possible to move the cylindrical handle and which has a series of position holes connected by a groove. By means of a spring housed inside the handle, it can be unlocked from the hole in which the handle is inserted and move it along the groove towards the most convenient position hole. Another optional element that can be incorporated into the invention consists of a pair of cylindrical handles arranged next to the cylindrical bar located at the upper end of the rear vertical crossbars, with a certain degree of inclination. This, pair of handles allows to expand the range of possible exercises to perform in the bank.

In this way, and according to the graphic representation that is attached to this report, the exercise of dorsals, upper and lower abdominals, biceps, triceps, and the realization of chin-ups and push-ups will be possible. DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

A preferred embodiment of the device object of the present specification is described below without limitation as to its formal constitution or small variants that lack importance as regards the modification of its main function.

The structure of the exercise bench for public spaces is composed of cross-sectional crossbars of 8 x 8 crα. The vertical vertical crossbars (1) have a length of 73 cm, the crossbars intermediate verticals (2) will be 125 cm long and the rear verticals (3) 186 cm.

These crossbars are braced longitudinally by means of a horizontal crossbar (4) of length 160 cm located at a height from the ground of 30 cm. A pair of short sections (11) will be arranged at the rear end of the horizontal crosspieces (4), which will have a length of about 15 cm and are arranged with flight outwards, having the sole function of achieving an adequate aesthetic balance of the device. Another pair of said short sections (11) will be located in the encounter between posterior vertical crossings (3) and upper transverse crossbar; these short sections (11) being arranged with flight towards the back and a cylindrical bar (14) having a diameter of 2.5 cm between them.

Another cylindrical bar of greater diameter (13), in this case 6.25 cm, will be placed between the anterior vertical crossbars (1), joined thereto 10 cm from the end end of said crossbars.

Finally, a new vertical support table (15) will be attached to the intermediate (9) and upper (10) transverse crossbars.

As indicated above, in an optional configuration of the exercise bench for public use spaces, it is possible to incorporate movable handles (6), which allow the modification of the distance between opposite handles to adapt to the user. Such handles
