Abstract

복수의 지문 센서를 통해 입력된 지문 데이터를 가공하여 인증판단에 사용함으로써 보안성과 성능을 향상시킨 지문인증장치 및 방법이 개시된다. 본 발명의 일실시예에 따른 지문인증장치는 사용자로부터의 제1지문 데이터를 획득하는 제1센서와 상기 제1지문과는 다른 제2지문 데이터를 획득하는 제2센서 및 상기 획득한 제1지문 데이터 및 제2지문 데이터를 등록 지문 데이터들과 각각 비교한 유사도를 가지고 사용자 인증여부를 결정하는 제어부를 포함한다. 이에 의해 복수의 지문센서를 통해 입력된 지문 데이터를 조합하여 인증에 이용함으로써, 본인 거부율 및 타인 수락율을 모두 낮추어 안정적이고 정확한 사용자 인증결과를 얻을 수 있다.
