L'invention concerne un dispositif de production de gaz pauvre et de charbon de bois à partir de combustibles solides, comportant un gazéificateur (10), notamment un gazéificateur à courant continu, pour la production de gaz pauvre, et une chambre de pyrolyse (3) pour la carbonisation de combustibles solides (1) en charbon de bois (12), la chambre de pyrolyse (3) étant disposée au-dessus du gazéificateur (10) et reliée à celui-ci de telle manière que d'une part, une partie des combustibles solides (1) contenus dans la chambre de pyrolyse (3) entre dans le gazéificateur (10), et d'autre part, la chaleur quittant le gazéificateur (10) par le haut, chauffe les combustibles solides (1) situés dans le chambre de pyrolyse (3).
