Definitions
- the object of the present invention patent is a device, system and portable security method of reduced size and energy consumption configured to transmit emergency alerts efficiently, using WIFI® communication networks or using mobile phones through Bluetooth
- Spanish patent ES 2222086 describes a location system for personal security, characterized in that it primarily uses GPS and Bluetooth® technology, composed of a personal locator with alarm, and a control center, that manages the information received from personal locators, being able to track in real time, and / or deferred, and a remote control of alarms.
- US7502619 describes a system for locating a wireless device over a wide area that includes emitting, but not receiving devices, configured to emit a series of signals that are likely to be received by a central reception that determines the location.
- the phone's GPS greatly slows down the location and complicates it.
- US20020175819 describes a rescue method using Bluetooth®.
- the plurality of devices involved generate a packet of emergency messages that are transmitted to other devices attached to a network.
- the Bluetooth® device that receives the emergency signal will automatically execute a predetermined program in the event of an emergency.
- US20040000994 describes a search system based on GPS and wireless technology capable of establishing or tracing the distance between a plurality of transceivers, so that a first transceiver can call, via satellite, a second transceiver in case of emergency.
- the patent US20060284732 describes a device that detects an abnormal functioning of a patient, which communicates it to a mobile and the latter issues the pre-programmed emergency call.
- US20070082652 describes a portable communications device to be transported by a person together with a mobile telephone configured to issue an emergency signal to a base station.
- the object of the present invention is a device and system that allows transmitting alerts efficiently, with reduced energy consumption, using WIFI networks or mobile communication networks and mobile phones connected to it.
- the connection between the security device and the mobile phone or WIFI access point ("bridge" element) is carried out via a wireless link, preferably Bluetooth® or WIFI, and from the mobile phone or access point to the center control, through the free connection to 112 or through a GPRS or IP connection.
- the position of the security device that creates the alert can be ascertained by triangulation of the bridge device that sends the alert if it is also a mobile phone (it is also possible to use your GPS if you have it incorporated), by known geographical position if the bridge device is a WIFI access point or through the security device, if it optionally incorporates a GPS.
- the security device may incorporate other sensors that are capable of generating the alert automatically, in addition to the button. For example, a pulse, blood pressure, temperature meter, etc. Depending on the type of alert or the individual carrying the device, it is possible to choose the way in which the alert is processed.
- the alert may be convenient to show the alert on the surrounding mobile phones, for example when it is a health problem of the person wearing the security device (in these cases the device called "bridge" is not used as such anymore which is the recipient of the alert), while in others, it is convenient to use the surrounding mobile phones to send the alert in a hidden way.
- object of the present invention patent which comprises at least:
- a switch configured so that the device sends the alarm when activated (for example in a dangerous situation), or for not being activated after a certain time (if it is carried by a baby or a person with a disease that prevent doing so).
- any device that identifies any possible alarm situation a heart rate monitor, blood pressure monitor, thermometer, etc.
- (c) third-party means a bluetooth or Wi-Fi communication device to connect to an external receiving element, what has been called the "bridge" device, a Wi-Fi access point, a mobile phone with Bluetooth or Wifi. It is also necessary to modify the software that currently contains the devices that have been called as a bridge to accept connections of this type of security devices without requiring the intervention of the user and to send the alert to the control center and / or display it in screen and / or emit some kind of alert sound automatically.
- FIG. 1 shows a schematic view of a security device of the type described in the present patent.
- FIG. 2 shows a sequence of device operation, using Bluetooth® technology to send the alert through the surrounding mobile phones.
- FIG. 3 shows an explanatory diagram of the operation when the recipient of the alarm is a mobile phone
- the low-power and small-sized portable safety device comprises means for capturing 1 possible emergency situations where these means comprise, in turn, one of the following: a push button, activated when pressed or not in a certain time, or a biometric device of any kind, such as a heart rate monitor, a blood pressure monitor, thermometer, etc; signal processing means 2, where the information obtained by the capture means is processed and where, by means of radio-frequency transmission systems 3 (preferably of the Bluetooth ® or WIFI type), they communicate with the "bridge" device 4 , usually a mobile phone or a wireless WIFI access point, configured as a signal transmitting medium.
- a push button activated when pressed or not in a certain time
- a biometric device of any kind, such as a heart rate monitor, a blood pressure monitor, thermometer, etc
- signal processing means 2 where the information obtained by the capture means is processed and where, by means of radio-frequency transmission systems 3 (preferably of the Bluetooth ® or WIFI type), they communicate with the "bridge" device 4 , usually a mobile
- FIG 3 An operation diagram is shown in figure 3, where when one of the means of detecting alarm situations is activated (100), the device starts searching for Bluetooth devices within its range (101). As soon as you find one (102) try to connect. The search only stops (103) when the alarm ends if caused by a sensor or when a predetermined time passes or because simply is cancelled.
- mobile phones can be configured so that they are not visible by other Bluetooth devices and also depending on the security level configured, they may require user authorization before accepting a connection.
- One of the simplest is to reserve certain MAC addresses for devices of this type.
- the IEEE 802 standard allows more than 281,474,976,710,656 possible network addresses, therefore, it is very easy to reserve, for example, all those that start with aa- (in hexadecimal notation there are six groups of two numbers, in the example the two are used first) for this purpose.
- any "bridge" device that receives a connection attempt from one of these MAC addresses would accept that connection (104).
- the "bridge” device if the "bridge" device is the recipient of the alarm (106), it would display the message (together with a beep and / visual signal) that comes from the safety device.
- This message could include information related to the type of alarm generated, the device code, the name of the user, telephone (to notify family members if they are an elderly person, or a small child), etc. The user would know at that moment that a person has the need to be treated within a radius of 10/100 meters (depending on the scope of the device).
- the "bridge” device is a WIFI access point, the same message can be sent but by sending a broadcast type message (broadcas ⁇ ) to all the equipment connected to the network.
- notification of the alert could be made through 112, by sending an SMS to a toll-free number, 112 style in voice calls or through a GPRS connection to a toll-free number that only allows connections to the server that collects emergency requests, to avoid fraudulent use of it.
- the content of the message is similar to case a) and it is also expandable, type of alarm generated (press of a button, biometric sensor, etc.), the device code, the name of the user, telephone, GPS position if known and / or antenna / antennas within reach, to obtain the approximate position of the safety device.
- the security device would only stop the search for "bridge" devices if the alarm ends, after a certain time or because it is canceled.
