Description
DISPOSITIVO CORRECTOR DE LA POSICIÓN DE DIENTES
Sector de Ia técnica.
La presente invención se refiere a un dispositivo compuesto por un conjunto de fundas o cofias a las que en algunas de las fundas se adhieren bracket o tubos los cuales son atravesados por un alambre de alta resistencia y memoria para Ia alineación de dientes. Por tanto, esta invención se encuadra dentro del sector de Ia técnica de Ia ortodoncia, en especial Ia obtención o mantenimiento de Ia posición deseada de los dientes, por ejemplo para el enderezamiento, nivelación y alineamiento.
Estado de Ia Técnica.
Es conocido en el estado de Ia técnica diversos dispositivos basados en brackets que se unen a través de unos adhesivos a Ia dentadura y con Ia ayuda de un alambra de alta resistencia y memoria se procede a alinear Ia dentadura. El funcionamiento de estos dispositivos se basa en que al alambre se Ie de Ia forma del arco dental deseado para que este, una vez implantado en los brackets, ejerce una fuerza sobre los brackets que se transmite a los dientes y de esta forma, lentamente, produce el movimiento de las piezas dentales hasta Ia posición deseada. Todos estos dispositivos conllevan problemas, debido a las molestias que causan en Ia boca del paciente, higiénicos debido a Ia dificultad de mantenerlos limpios, en especial después de las comidas y los derivados del carácter estético.
Varias soluciones se han buscado para solucionar estos problemas. Para limitar Ia impacto negativo a Ia imagen de Ia persona, se han ideado dispositivos como el conocido alineador invisible el cual se basa en un conjunto de fundas o férulas transparentes y de plástico que tiene cierta elasticidad, las cuales se colocan cubriendo los dientes y las férulas van empujando a los dientes hacia una posición deseadas que viene fijada por Ia

forma de Ia férula y Ia fuerza constante que realiza sobre los dientes. Cuando los dientes se han desplazado por acción de Ia férula, y Ia férula no ejerce más presión sobre ellos, es necesario cambiar de férula por otro que continúe empujando a los dientes hasta Ia posición deseada. Este método es especialmente útil para correcciones de posición que impliquen un desplazamiento pequeño, menos de 0,5 milímetros. Pero para mayores desplazamientos, es caro y requiere de largos periodos de tiempo. Además tal y como indica Ia patente española 2.258.939 "es caro pues necesita realizar una simulación completa de las posiciones intermedias de los dientes durante el movimiento de toda Ia dentadura antes de generar las fundas, fabricar un número considerable de fundas para diversos estados intermedios del movimiento dental y, además, requiere visitas frecuentes al ortodoncista para comprobar el movimiento de los dientes y cambiar las fundas. Este método y estos dispositivos, además, no estimulan el crecimiento óseo, por Io que sus resultados quedan limitados".
Otra solución se presenta en Ia patente española cuyo número de publicación es 2.258.939. En ella se muestra un dispositivo ortodóntico que comprende a dos fundas o férulas de dientes, disponiendo cada funda de, al menos, un elemento alargado realizado en material flexible, estando cada uno de los elementos alargados fijos por uno de sus extremos a su férula correspondiente, disponiéndose libre otro extremo del mismo, y un resorte para unir los elementos alargados entre sí a través sus extremos. El elemento alargado suele ser alambriforme, realizado en material metálico como acero inoxidable y ejerce funciones activas como presión contra encías o dientes o pasivas de unión o transmisión a Ia funda y se actúa en el posicionamiento de los dientes.
No obstante, las anteriores soluciones no llegan a resolver el problema de encontrar un dispositivo que: 1. Permita en mejorar Ia posición de los dientes de un paciente en un corto plazo de tiempo. 2. El costo de este tratamiento sea a un precio menor.

3. El dispositivo que se utilice no produzca molestias y posibles heridas en Ia boca.
Explicación de Ia invención.
La presente invención pretende dar respuesta a los problemas anteriores en base a un dispositivo corrector del arco dental de una persona que permite al paciente ponérselo o quitárselo con gran rapidez y al mismo tiempo poder mejorar el alineamiento de los dientes en un corto periodo de tiempo. Para ello, el dispositivo objeto de Ia patente se basa en combinar Ia utilización de Ia técnica de bracket y el alambre de alta resistencia con Ia utilización de fundas o cofias de dientes. Los bracket se adhieren a las fundas individuales las cuales a su vez quedan ancladas en los dientes del paciente. El alambre de alta resistencia, al que previamente se Ie ha memorizado el arco dental ideal del paciente, ejerce las fuerzas constantes en los brackets los cuales son transmitidas a las correspondientes fundas y de éstas a los dientes produciéndose Ia correspondiente corrección.
La memoria del alambre viene marcada por el material con el que se fabrica y Ia industrial utiliza acero y especialmente níquel-titanio para construir estos alambres con objeto de ser utilizados en ortodoncia.
El objeto de Ia presente invención es mejorar el posicionamiento de los dientes, especialmente en adultos, y cuando los dientes deben realizar largos recorridos, es decir más de 0,5 milímetros, ya que para ajustes finos se puede utilizar técnicas más concretas como los alineadores invisibles. Esta técnica permite a un adulto quitarse pueda quitarse el dispositivo por si solo y rápidamente.
Gran parte de Ia técnica actual en Ia corrección del posicionamiento de los dientes se basa solo en el uso de los brackets los cuales se pegan directamente a los dientes y posteriormente se Ie engarza un alambre de

alta resistencia y memoria que ejerce una fuerza continua en los clientes a través de los brackets. De esta manera se mueven cada una de las piezas dentarias hasta Ia posición deseada. Esta técnica obliga, por tanto a abrir los brackets para introducir el alambre dentro de los brackets una vez que éstos están adheridos a los dientes y no es posible utilizar dispositivos cerrados como tubos adheridos a los dientes.
El dispositivo corrector objeto de esta patente está compuesto por un conjunto de fundas independiente las cuales pueden encajarse en un solo diente o en un conjunto de ellos. En aquellas fundas individuales que vayan a encajar en los dientes a corregir su posición se les adhiere un bracket o tubo. Las fundas pueden anclarse en un solo diente o en varios dientes, Io cual suele ser habitual para los molares. En este último caso, solo se incluye un bracket o tubo por el que se pasa el alambre y sirve de punto de apoyo en Ia dentadura y para que el alambre ejerza Ia fuerza sobre las piezas dentarias a desplazar ejerciendo este dispositivo su función correctora sobre los dientes.
La presente invención mejora Ia actual situación pues permite utilizar no solo brackets, sino también tubos ya que en este caso el alambre se introduce dentro de los tubos o brackets adheridos al conjunto de fundas antes de introducirse en Ia boca del paciente.
Las fundas, al igual que las férulas utilizadas en ortodoncia se ponen en Ia boca con Ia ayuda de las manos por los propios pacientes y se las pueden quitar con gran facilidad y sin ninguna técnica especial. Las fundas están construidas de un material de gran resistencia y elasticidad, como puede ser plásticos duros o metacrilato, de tal manera que al anclarse en cada diente o conjunto de dientes se adaptan a Ia geometría del diente y ejercen una presión suficiente para quedarse inmovilizados en ellos. Cuando este dispositivo no está encajado en Ia dentadura, cada una de las fundas se puede mover a Io largo del alambre. Es decir, el posicionamiento de las

fundas y Ia fuerza que ejerce el alambre en Ia dirección y sentido necesarios se establece cuando se coloca en Ia boca. Fuera de ella, las fundas se desplazan libremente a Io largo del alambre a través de los brackets o tubos. Además, este dispositivo permite ser llevado puesto en Ia boca o almacenarlo en un cajetín.

Exposición detallada de una realización de Ia invención.
En Ia figura 1 vemos en sección como una cofia o funda (2) está anclada a un diente (1 ) concreto y en Ia parte exterior de Ia funda (2) está pegada un bracket (3) por el que pasará un alambre (5) de alta resistencia y memoria como puede ser los fabricados en níquel-titanio. De esta manera el bracket (2) y el alambre (5) se sitúan en una posición vestibular y son más fáciles de ver.

No obstante, hay personas que no consideran atractivo que se les vean los bracket (2) así como todo el aparataje que puedan llevar para mejorar Ia posición de sus dientes. Para solventar esta problemática y mejorar Ia estética de los pacientes, el bracket (3) se puede pegar a Ia funda (2) en Ia parte interior del Ia funda (2). De esta manera tanto el alambre (5) como los brackets se sitúan en Ia zona lingual con Io que no es posible verlos a simple vista y solo quedaría expuesta Ia funda (2) Ia cual no es tan visible.
En Ia figura 5 se observa que este dispositivos corrector de Ia posición de dientes está compuesto por un conjunto de fundas (2) independiente las cuales pueden encajarse en un solo diente (1) o en un conjunto de ellos. En aquellas fundas (2) individuales que vayan a encajar en los dientes a corregir su posición se les adhiere un bracket (3) o tubo (4). Las fundas (2) pueden anclarse en un solo diente o en varios dientes, Io cual suele ser habitual para los molares como muestra Ia figura. En este último caso, solo se incluye un bracket (3) o tubo (4) por el que se pasa el alambre (5) y sirve de punto de apoyo en Ia dentadura y que el alambre ejerza Ia fuerza sobre las piezas dentarias a desplazar.
Tal y como se indicó anteriormente, las fundas (2) están construidas de un material de gran resistencia y elasticidad, como puede ser Io empleados habitualmente en el área de Ia tecnología de ortodoncia, es decir plásticos duros o metacrilato. Al anclarse las fundas en cada diente (1) o conjunto de dientes (1) ejercen una presión suficiente para quedarse inmovilizados en ellos. Cuando este dispositivo no está encajado en Ia dentadura, cada una de las fundas (2) se desplaza libremente a Io largo del alambre (5) a través de los brackets (3) o tubos (4). Es decir, el posicionamiento de las fundas y Ia fuerza que ejerce el alambre (5) en Ia dirección y sentido necesarios se establece cuando se coloca en Ia boca.
Por otro lado, en el caso que se Ie vaya a modificar Ia posición de un solo diente, será necesario utilizar una funda (2) anclada al diente en cuestión.

Sobre dicha funda (2) se adhiere un bracket (3) o tubo de luz (4). Además, para proceder a ejercer Ia fuerza sobre dicha funda (2) y al diente es necesario contar con dos puntos de apoyo los cuales se consigue incluyendo otras dos fundas con sus correspondientes brackets (3) o tubos (4). Estas fundas de apoyo pueden anclarse en un solo diente (1) o en varios, generalmente los molares.
La presente invención permite utilizar brackets (3), sistemas más simples y seguros como tubos (4) pues en este caso el alambre (5) se introduce el alambre (5) dentro de los tubos (4) o brackets (3) adheridos al conjunto de fundas antes de introducirse en Ia boca del paciente. Cuando el dispositivo se introduce en Ia boca se adapta y ancla a Ia misma y ejerce las fuerzas correctoras.
La figura 3 muestra Ia sección de un diente (1) al que está anclado una funda (2) y en su parte interna o lingual se incluye un tubo de luz (4) con suaves curvas para evitar heridas y problemas en Ia lengua. Esto supone otra mejora en relación a los brackets (3) los cuales tienen una geometría más áspera, en forma de "T" con gomas que crean fricciones y heridas en Ia boca.
No obstante, este tipo de dispositivos puede utilizar tanto bracket (3) como tubos (4), pudiendo darse el caso de incluir los dos dispositivos, brackets (3) y tubos (4) en un mismo dispositivo.
Esta invención es de aplicación en Ia industria relacionada con ciencias de Ia salud, en especial el sector de Ia órtodoncia.

Claims
1. Dispositivo corrector de Ia posición de dientes caracterizado porque está compuesto por un conjunto de fundas (2) independiente a las cuales están adheridas a cada una de ellas en su parte exterior o vestibular un bracket (3) por el que pasa un alambre (5) de alta memoria del tipo níquel-titanio o equivalente.
2. Dispositivo según Ia reivindicación 1 caracterizado porque los brackets (3) se colocan en Ia posición interior o labial de las fundas (2).
3. Dispositivo corrector de Ia posición de dientes caracterizado porque está compuesto por un conjunto de fundas (2) independiente a las cuales están adheridas a cada una de ellas en su parte exterior o vestibular un tubo de luz (4) atravesado por un alambre (5) de alta memoria del tipo níquel-titanio o equivalente.
4. Dispositivo según Ia reivindicación 3 caracterizado porque los tubos (4) se colocan en Ia posición interior o labial de las fundas (2).
