Abstract

This invention relates to an automatic time synchronization system for the Islamic and Gregorian calendars. It shows accurately the date (by year, month, and day) and time (by hours, minutes, and seconds) according to the Gregorian calendar (the solar year), as well as the corresponding date and time according to the Islamic calendar (the lunar year). The system also shows crescent shape and size during the days of the lunar month, and the corresponding date according to the Gregorian calendar. In this way, the system calculates time precisely according to both Gregorian and Islamic calendars for thousand years past, and thousand years to come.

Description

An Automatic Time Synchronization System for the Islamic and Gregorian Calendars
Technical Field:
Automatic time synchronization system for the Islamic and Gregorian calendars.
Background Art:
So far, there has been no system for precisely calculating both Gregorian and Islamic (Hijri) calendars for years to come. The true Gregorian calendar is usually a day more or less than the printed calendar. Moreover, Hijri months are determined through crescent lookout at the beginning of the lunar month. Therefore, there is a need for developing a mechanical system for accurately showing the Gregorian calendar altogether with the Islamic one for thousand years past or years to come.
The prior art did not offer a system that combines between the Gregorian (solar) calendar and the Islamic (lunar) one. Therefore, the time synchronization system according to the invention has been developed to accurately show the Gregorian calendar with the corresponding Islamic calendar by year, month, day, hours, minutes, and seconds. It also shows the crescent shape and size to determine Hijri months.
Summary of the invention
The system according to the invention determines the beginning of Hijri months for many- even thousands- years past or years to come in a precise manner. Thus, it precisely shows both the Gregorian calendar and the corresponding Islamic calendar for these long years.
Disclosure of Invention
The system according to the invention consists of a plurality of gears with different sizes due to the different numbers of teeth they contain. Each gear is fixed in its designated place to perform a special function. Three gears are used as indicators to time by seconds, minutes, and hours respectively. Other gears are used to indicate days of the week, calendar months, and Hijri months. A gear is used to indicate crescent shape and size during the lunar months. When the indicator of seconds rotates, it transfers motion to the gears indicating time by minutes and hours, and date by days and weeks respectively. The motion is then transferred from the day indicator to the calendar year indicator, then the Hijri year indicator respectively. The data panel of the system precisely shows time according to the Gregorian and Islamic calendars, in addition to the beginning of Hijri months and their corresponding Gregorian calendar.
Applicability
The system according to the invention can be used to show both the Gregorian and Islamic calendars side by side. When turning the system on, time by hours, minutes, and seconds, as well as date by year, month, and day appear on the data panel according to both Gregorian and Islamic calendars. It also shows the shape and size of the crescent at that time.
