Abstract

A fundamentally new automotive televisual vision system is proposed. By means of an automotive televisual vision system comprising at least one video camera, at least one display, an electronic vision system control apparatus, software and other known devices, and/or by means of at least one electronic device that is external to the vision system and is associated therewith and/or connected thereto, a virtual indication (virtual marker) is established on the vision system display for a vehicle shown thereon, which is travelling in the same direction as the vehicle that is equipped with the vision system or which is travelling faster than the vehicle equipped with the vision system and in the same direction thereas. On at least one display: 1) at least one virtual marker is established which is shown inside or partially inside the boundaries of the image of a vehicle seen on the display; and/or 2) at least one virtual marker is established which is shown inside or partially inside the boundaries of an image of a vehicle which, having entered the field of vision of the vision system, has disappeared from the display but is still fully or partially situated in the area shown on the at least one display.
