Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a rice hull board, and to a rice hull board manufactured by same. More particularly, the method comprises the steps of: depositing whole unground rice hulls into an aqueous solution which is prepared by mixing chlorinate paraffin, borax, rosin, sodium silicate and water with an emulsifier and heating the mixture, and drying the whole unground rice hulls to form coating films on the inner and outer surfaces of the whole unground rice hulls; again depositing the whole unground rice hulls into a resin solution to provide the whole unground rice hulls with adhesive properties; and mixing a resin and the whole unground rice hulls and stirring the mixture to enable the resin and the whole unground rice hulls to adhere to each other, drying the mixture, melting the mixture by means of hot air, and press-molding the molten mixture into a board. As the rice hull board of the present invention is molded from the mixture in which the whole unground rice hulls are mixed with the resin while maintaining the shapes of the whole unground rice hulls, the characteristics of the whole unground rice hulls can be maintained, the bending strength of the rice hull board which might otherwise be lower than that of wood is improved, and water resistance, flexibility, fire resistance, and antiseptic properties are imparted to the rice hull board, thereby improving the value of the rice hull board as a product.
