Abstract
The present invention relates to an internal combustion engine cover on which a flame arrester is installed to absorb, distribute, and prevent the transmission of a flame when an explosion occurs inside the internal combustion engine and the flame spreads. More particularly, an arrester seat (11) is integrally formed onto the center of the upper portion of an internal combustion engine cover (10). The arrester seat (11) has a center with a through-hole (12), an upper inner surface with an O-ring groove (13) and a plurality of joint holes (14), and an outer surface with a mounting portion (15). An O-ring (21) to be inserted into the O-ring groove (13), a disk (22), an elastic spring (23), and bolts (25) to be assembled into the joint holes (14) are arranged onto the center of the arrester seat (11), and an arrester panel unit (30) formed by stacking arrester panels is directly mounted on the mounting portion (15) formed at the outer surface of the arrester seat (11). A cover plate (35) is assembled onto the arrester panel unit (30), and a nut (28) is assembled onto the bolt (25) from the upper surface of the cover plate (35). Contrary to a conventional arrester which is separately assembled and then installed onto an engine cover, the arrester of the present invention is assembled directly onto the engine cover, thereby enabling easy assembly and the simple replacement of arrester parts.
