Abstract

The parking-garage is designed for storing, i.e. parking, vehicles in a multi-storey, i.e. multi-level, facility. A car is parked on a floor (4) which is assignated to a specific level of the garage. The floor (4) is moved to the lifter (2) which carries it to the ground where the car is brought onto the floor (4), then the lifter (1) takes the floor with the car and carries it to the assigned level where the sliding mechanism takes the floor (4) and slides it back into its place. If a car has already been parked, then the floor (4) with the parked car is brought onto the ground where the car is removed, and the floor (4) is taken back to its place. Parking always involves the floor (4) assigned to a given level, i.e. storey. Parking-garages may and should be used in cities as it takes four times less space. Parking-garages should be used in the train stations where people would be able to leave cars and go to city by train.- Parking-garages offer an especially preferable solution when constructed against the walls of houses and stadiums. The driver may reach the car straight from the flat and together with it be moved onto the ground, and further to the stadium to the parking-garage, and from the parking-garage straight at the assigned level to the seat in the stadium.

Description

Parking-garage
The invention concerns a parking-garage intended for temporary storage of cars that is vehicles for transporting people. Temporary storage, i.e. parking, may involve shorter or longer periods, or long-term storage, i.e. garaging.
Generally known parking facilities include: small structures with single parking spaces and several-storey structures for multi-level car parking.
There are also multi-level parking structures where floor is lifted vertically upward by hydraulic cylinders, but cars parked on higher level may only leave its parking space upon removal of all cars from lower levels which is troublesome as special persons are needed to re-park the cars for this purpose.
The parking-garage according to the invention offers a different solution and it is world's first state-of-the-art multi-level car parking facility. The parking-garage provides standalone parking spaces for each vehicle separately and individually, on several levels, i.e. storeys. . In a preferred embodiment each car leaves its parking space separately, used for transport, and then re-parked, individually from other vehicles.
The parking-garage according to the invention may be constructed as a three-;, four- or five- level facility, and it is highly capacity-efficient as it occupies little space. The access road is shorter which gives an opportunity to reduce fuel consumption, and hence to reduce air pollution during parking. The parking-garage may be constructed as one individual multilevel parking facility or it may be a single segment of a few, a few dozen, or several dozen, parking-garages, constructed as segments attached one to another.
Parking-garages as segments may be adapted for needs and location in a given housing estate or region. The parking-garage structure involves steel beams, screwed with bolts. It means that if after some time it presents an obstacle in a given location, it may be disassembled and removed to another location.
Each level, i.e. each parking space, has a removable floor which can be extracted and retracted, with and without the car, individually from other vehicles. Each floor assigned to a parking space is extracted, placed onto the ground, and then taken back and returned to its space.
For carrying these removable floors, there is one special conveyor, shown in Fig. 3, which extracts floor, with or without car, and moves it onto the ground, i.e. to the level 0, and then takes it back to its space, while the conveyor itself goes back to its original position at the top of the parking-garage.
The floors in the parking-garage may be extracted and retracted: using a cogwheel and gear wheel or using two press wheels - factional movement, or they can be moved using hydraulic or air powered cylinders. The conveyor is moved up and down by means of chain 7 with wheels of the lifting mechanism 5, moved by means of electric motor with worm gear 14 and cogwheel 12 on the axis 11, protected with the cover 10, and this entire lifting mechanism is operated electrically or electronically. Each level, i.e. garage, has its own control box with buttons, possible to lock, and the parking-garage is inaccessible to anybody but a car owner or lessee. The parking procedure is as follows:
When a driver comes to leave, i.e. to park, the car, he opens the control box and presses the button to start the lifter 2, Fig. 3, which takes the floor from a given level and moves it onto the ground, then the driver moves the car onto the floor and presses the button to start the lifter which lifts the floor with the car and takes it to its parking space where it is put into place using the retracting mechanism.
If a vehicle has already been parked, then the driver presses the operating button to move the floor with the car onto the ground and moves the car from the floor, and then presses the button to start the lifter 2 which takes the floor back to its place in the parking-garage, and the driver leaves.
Parking-garages may and should be applied literally everywhere in towns and cities where there is always little space for parking. As parking-garages occupy little space and may be constructed in narrow passages, along streets or in small squares for they may be adapted for sites of all shapes.
In a preferred embodiment it would mean greater convenience for people and city transport, and in particular it would contribute to four-times space saving. Thus, it would at the same time eliminate bottlenecks caused by large concentration of cars in one place.
Then, it could be applied in train stations where people would leave their cars and commute to city by train. In a special embodiment, it could be constructed against walls of houses as almost each house has a wall without windows. Such blind wall is not more aesthetic than cars parked against it. And thus each resident would have his/her car at his/her level. In a mostly preferred embodiment, parking-garages would be constructed against external walls of a stadium while the space around stands is unutilized, i.e. unused.
It would be as follows:
A house resident has a garage against a wall at his/her level, i.e. such resident goes straight from the flat through the corridor to the car, goes down using the lifter and drives to the stadium and there on production of a ticket obtains a key to the parking-garage against the wall of the stadium at his/her level, drives into the parking-garage and parks the car while he/she is inside. Then, he/she leaves the car and goes straight to his/her place in the stands at his/her level without wandering up and down, and up again.
In such embodiment, parking-garages against walls of houses and stadiums, it would result in very beneficial fuel savings, shorter parking time, and additionally reduced air pollution with exhaust gases.
A parking-garage according to the invention would be the most up-to-date parking technique of the 21st century.
