Abstract

The present invention relates to a guard rail installed along both sides of a road, in which the surface of the connecting portion between the ends of adjacent guard rail bodies is flattened, and the exposure of bolt heads on the surfaces of the guard rail bodies is prevented, thereby achieving aesthetic enhancement for drivers, and reducing damage caused due to bolt heads. Vehicle crash damage is minimised in an inexpensive manner by providing said guard rail with a means of simple configuration for absorbing crash impact on said guard rail bodies. The guard rail of the present invention comprises a pillar (10) with the lower end driven deeply into the ground; a U-shaped bracket (20) fastened onto the pillar (10) by bolts (1) and nuts (2), the centre of which covers one side of the pillar (10) and the ends of which extend forwards toward the other side of the pillar (10); an inner rail (30) formed integrally with the bracket (20), having a rear joint portion (31) with bolt holes, and a cross sectional shape corresponding to that of the guard rail body; and a guard rail body (40) disposed in front of the inner rail (30), having a front joint portion (41) which engages with the rear joint portion (31) of the inner rail (30), and which is coupled to the inner rail (30) by fastening the rear joint portion (31) and the front joint portion (41) with bolts (3) and nuts (4).
