Abstract
본 발명은 위상지연소자 및 이를 포함하는 광픽업장치에 관한 것으로서, 더욱 상세하게는 제1 및 제2 위상지연층을 적층하여 위상지연소자를 구현하되 제2 위상지연층의 위상지연값에 대한 상기 제1 위상지연층의 위상지연값의 비를 최적화함으로써 파장이 상이한 2개의 레이저광에 대하여 각각 파장의 1/4 만큼 위상지연을 시킬 수 있는 위상지연소자를 제공하기 위한 것이다. 이를 위하여 본 발명에 따른 위상지연소자는 CD용 레이저광 및 DVD용 레이저광의 광경로상에 배치되어 상기 레이저광들의 편광상태를 변환시키는 위상지연소자에 있어서, 적층되어 있는 제1 및 제2 위상지연층을 포함하며, 제2위상지연층의 위상지연값이 140nm 내지 190nm이며, 상기 제1위상지연층의 위상지연값이 450nm 내지 1300nm인 것을 특징으로 한다.
