Abstract

The present invention relates to a smoke barrier screen device to be installed on the ceiling of a path or a stairway in which humans pass, wherein the smoke barrier screen device operates and a smoke barrier screen thereof gets closer to the floor upon the outbreak of a fire to protect humans from noxious gases. To accomplish the above object of the present invention, a smoke barrier screen device is provided that comprises a sensing unit installed on a ceiling to sense noxious gases generated upon the outbreak of a fire, operating means having a stopper member movably fixed at one side of a smoke barrier wall, one end of which is fixed at the ceiling and the other end of which is free, such that the stopper member responds to applied power, an accommodating member, one end of which is fixed at the smoke barrier wall and the other end of which gets caught by and is released from the operating means in response to the operation of the operating means, a smoke barrier screen member, one end of which is connected to and accommodated in the accommodating member, such that the smoke barrier screen member is spread in response to the operation of the operating means to cut the flow of noxious gas and enable people to escape from the fire, and a control unit for controlling the operating means in response to the signal applied by the sensing unit.
