[13] In accordance with an aspect of the present invention, the above and other objects can be accomplished by the provision of an article-based advertising method using electronic books according to the serial numbers of the electronic books, the method including: (1) at a server computer for providing an advertisement service using the electronic books, generating and storing the electronic books in a database on the basis of original source files received from one or more publisher computers; (2) at the server computer, calculating costs of article-based advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books generated in the step (1); (3) at the server computer, providing the cost information of the article-based advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books calculated in the step (2) by the request of the one or more advertiser computers which perform an access operation and registering the article-based advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books in at least one database on the basis of advertisement registration information received from the advertiser computers; (4) at the server computer, when an electronic book search is performed by each of user computers, extracting and providing a list of the electronic books from the database to each of the user computers, and determining whether or not the reading of a specific electronic book is requested from each of the user computers; and (5) at the server computer, outputting the article contents of the specific electronic book selected and read by a user and the article-based advertisements sequentially or randomly exposed in correspondence with the article contents if it is determined that the reading of the specific electronic book is requested from each of the user computers in the step (4).
[14] The method may further include, after the step (5), (6) at the server computer, generating statistical information of the electronic books exposed by the searches of users and the use status of the article-based advertisements exposed in correspondence with the article contents of the electronic books and providing the statistical information to advertisers who register the article-based advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books; and (7) at the server computer, settling and providing advertisement revenue generated by the use of the electronic books of the users to the publishers.
[15] In accordance with another aspect of the present invention, there is provided an article-based advertising apparatus using electronic books according to the serial numbers of the electronic books, the apparatus including: a plurality of publisher computers providing original source files including books and magazines, which are being possessed and sold, to a server computer for providing an advertisement service using the electronic books; a plurality of advertiser computers registering article-based advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books to be published in the server computer; a plurality of user computers confirming the electronic books registered in the server computer by a search, receiving and displaying the article contents of a specific electronic book and advertisements sequentially or randomly exposed in correspondence with the article contents on screens thereof by the selection of users; and the server computer generating the electronic books on the basis of the original source files received from the publisher computers, calculating costs of the article-based advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books, providing the cost information of the article-based advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books to the advertiser computers which perform an access operation, registering one or more article-based advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books on the basis of the advertisement registration information received from the advertiser computers, providing a list of electronic books requested by each of the user computers to each of the user computers, and outputting the article contents of the specific electronic book and the article-based advertisement sequentially or randomly exposed in correspondence with the article contents if the reading of the specific electronic book is requested from each of the user computers.
Advantageous Effects
[16] As described above, according to an article-based advertising method using electronic books according to serial numbers of the electronic books and an apparatus thereof, since a sever computer receives and registers one or more advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books from advertisers and sequentially or randomly exposes one or more advertisements registered in an electronic book in correspondence with the article contents of the electronic book when a user reads the electronic book by a search, it is possible to maximize marketing effect by significantly improving attention degrees and recognition degrees of the advertisements.
[17] In addition, it is possible to maximize advertising effect by exposing the adver- tisements in a half or the whole of a screen in one-to-one correspondence compared with the conventional online advertisement having a small advertisement area, and perform target marketing by suitable advertisement publication according to the serial numbers of the specific electronic books.
[18] In addition, since the advertiser can freely set an advertisement period according to the serial numbers of the electronic books and freely change the advertisement contents in a predetermined period, it is possible to solve the problems of the conventional offline advertisement, that is, problems that the advertisement publication period is restricted by the publication period of the book and the advertisement period cannot be flexibly selected.

At this time, each of the user computers 300 which perform the electronic book search may perform a desired search using a portal site af- filiated with the server computer 400, instead of a method of directly connecting to the server computer 400 so as to perform the search.

[77] Finally, the server computer 400 settles the advertisement revenue generated by the use of the electronic books of the users, provides information about the settled advertisement revenue to the publisher computers 100, and divides the revenue generated by provision of the contents (original source files such as books or magazines possessed) (S150). [79] It is possible to maximize marketing effect by sequentially or randomly exposing advertisements in correspondence with the article contents of electronic books so as to significantly improve attention degrees and recognition degrees of the advertisements, maximize advertising effect by exposing the advertisements in a half or the whole of a screen in one-to-one correspondence, and perform target marketing by suitable advertisement publication according to the serial numbers of the specific electronic books.

Claims

Claims [1] An article-based advertising method using electronic books according to the serial numbers of the electronic books, the method comprising:
(1) at a server computer for providing an advertisement service using the electronic books, generating and storing the electronic books in a database on the basis of original source files received from one or more publisher computers;
(2) at the server computer, calculating costs of article-based advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books generated in the step (1);
(3) at the server computer, providing the cost information of the article-based advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books calculated in the step (2) by the request of the one or more advertiser computers which perform an access operation and registering the article-based advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books in at least one database on the basis of advertisement registration information received from the advertiser computers;
(4) at the server computer, when an electronic book search is performed by each of user computers, extracting and providing a list of the electronic books from the database to each of the user computers, and determining whether or not the reading of a specific electronic book is requested from each of the user computers; and
(5) at the server computer, outputting the article contents of the specific electronic book selected and read by a user and the article-based advertisements sequentially or randomly exposed in correspondence with the article contents if it is determined that the reading of the specific electronic book is requested from each of the user computers in the step (4).
[2] The method according to claim 1, further comprising, after the step (5),
(6) at the server computer, generating statistical information of the electronic books exposed by the searches of users and the use status of the article-based advertisements exposed in correspondence with the article contents of the electronic books and providing the statistical information to advertisers who register the article-based advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books; and
(7) at the server computer, settling and providing advertisement revenue generated by the use of the electronic books of the users to the publishers.
[3] The method according to claim 1, wherein the article-based advertisement registration information according to the serial numbers of the electronic books, which is received from the advertiser computers in the step (3), includes the selection of an advertisement period in the unit of days or months, the selection of a one-sided or double-sided advertisement area, the selection of an electronic book, the use of a representative link, a representative link position plan file, a representative link image file, a link uniform resource locator (URL) and an advertisement file.
[4] The method according to claim 1, wherein the contents of the article-based advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books, which are registered in the step (3), are arbitrarily changed by advertisers during a registered advertisement period.
[5] A computer-readable recording medium having recorded thereon a computer program for executing the method according to any one of claims 1 to 4 by a computer.
[6] An article-based advertising apparatus using electronic books according to the serial numbers of the electronic books, the apparatus comprising: a plurality of publisher computers providing original source files including books and magazines, which are being possessed and sold, to a server computer for providing an advertisement service using the electronic books; a plurality of advertiser computers registering article-based advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books to be published in the server computer; a plurality of user computers confirming the electronic books registered in the server computer by a search, receiving and displaying the article contents of a specific electronic book and advertisements sequentially or randomly exposed in correspondence with the article contents on screens thereof by the selection of users; and the server computer generating the electronic books on the basis of the original source files received from the publisher computers, calculating costs of the article-based advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books, providing the cost information of the article-based advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books to the advertiser computers which perform an access operation, registering one or more article- based advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books on the basis of the advertisement registration information received from the advertiser computers, providing a list of electronic books requested by each of the user computers to each of the user computers, and outputting the article contents of the specific electronic book and the article-based advertisement sequentially or randomly exposed in correspondence with the article contents if the reading of the specific electronic book is requested from each of the user computers. [7] The apparatus according to claim 6, wherein the server computer generates statistical information of the electronic books exposed according to the searches of the user computers and the use status of the article-based advertisements exposed in correspondence with the article contents of the electronic books, provides the statistical information to the advertiser computers which register the article-based advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books, settles advertisement revenue generated by the use of the electronic books of the user computers, and provides revenue division information to the publisher computers.
[8] The apparatus according to claim 6, wherein: the advertiser computers are capable of frequently changing the contents of the article-based advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books registered in the server computer during a registered advertisement period.
[9] The apparatus according to claim 6, wherein the server computer includes: a data communication unit processing the input of the original source files and the output of the revenue division information with the publisher computers, processing the input/output of data for the access, the output of the cost information of the article-based advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books, the input of the article-based advertisement registration information according to the serial numbers of the electronic books, and the output of the statistical information of the use status of the article-based advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books with the advertiser computers, and processing the input of search data, the output of the list of the requested electronic books, the input of the request for the reading of the article contents of the specific electronic book, and the output of the article contents of the specific electronic book and the article-based advertisements sequentially or randomly in correspondence with the article contents with the user computers; an electronic book generator converting the original source files received from the publisher computers via the data communication unit into electronic books; an advertisement registration unit calculating the costs of the article-based advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books converted by the electronic book generator, and generating advertisement files on the basis of the advertisement registration information including the selection of the advertisement period in the unit of days or months, the selection of the one-sided or double-sided advertisement area, the selection of the electronic book, the use of the representative link, the representative link position plan file, the representative link image file, the link uniform resource locator (URL) and the advertisement file, which is received from the advertiser computers via the data com- munication unit; a database storing the electronic books generated by the electronic book generator and one or more pieces of article-based advertisement data according to the serial numbers of the electronic books generated by the advertisement registration unit; a controller controlling the generation of the electronic books on the basis of the original source files received from the publisher computers and the calculation of the costs of the article -based advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books, controlling the access of the advertiser computers, the output of the cost information of the article -based advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books and the generation of the advertisement files according to the input of the article-based advertisement registration information according to the serial numbers of the electronic books, controlling the output of the list of the electronic books according to the search of the user computers and the output of the article contents of the specific electronic book according to the request for the reading of the specific electronic book and the article-based advertisements sequentially or randomly exposed in correspondence with the article contents, controlling the generation of the statistical information of the use status of the article-based advertisements according to the serial numbers of the electronic books and the output of the generated statistical information to the advertiser computers, and controlling the settlement and the division of the advertisement revenue generated by the use of the electronic books; and a statistical information generator generating the statistical information of the article contents of the electronic books exposed according to the searches of the user computers and the use status of the article-based advertisements exposed in correspondence with the article contents of the electronic books and periodically providing the generated statistical information to the advertiser computers, under the control of the controller; and a settlement unit performing the settlement and division of the advertisement revenue generated by the use of the electronic books of the user computers and providing division information of the settled revenue to the publisher computers, under the control of the controller.
