Definitions
- This case relates to a data broadcasting system, a data broadcasting server, and a data broadcasting program.
- the band of the broadcast signal is divided into 13 segments. Of these, one segment is used to broadcast mainly for mobiles called one-segment broadcasting.
- the reception function of one-segment broadcasting is introduced not only in dedicated television receivers but also in information devices such as personal computers and mobile phones.
- data broadcasting that supplies information via a network such as the Internet is being implemented as an additional service, in addition to images and sound as a normal television program supplied by terrestrial broadcasting from a broadcasting station.
- link information is included in information transmitted from a broadcasting station by terrestrial waves. This link information points to the content in the data broadcast server accessible via the Internet.
- the user device that functions as a television receiver on the user side acquires link information from the received terrestrial wave, acquires content corresponding to the link information from the data broadcast server, and displays the content.
- the content provided by the data broadcasting server includes not only text but also images and sounds.
- the user device receives data from the data broadcasting server and reproduces and displays the data using a decoder corresponding to the data when reproducing the image and the sound.
- Data broadcasting using a network connection can provide various information to the user device beyond the restrictions of transmission by broadcast waves, but the display performance of the user device may not be compatible with various information. If the user device selects reception of content that exceeds the display capability of the user device, the received content cannot be played back, and there is a risk that normal functions will be impaired. Therefore, there is a demand for restrictions on information transmitted to the user apparatus.
- a system that restricts reproduction of content by applying DRM (Digital Rights Management) to content supplied from a server to a user device is known as a method for limiting information to be transmitted (for example, Patent Document 1). reference.).
- the user device transmits a digital signature to the server, and the server inserts the signature into the DRM message in the content.
- Patent Document 2 There is also known a system including a user device that executes an application and an image server that receives a content acquisition request from the user device (see, for example, Patent Document 2).
- the user apparatus of this system writes application information indicating the type of application running at the time of content acquisition in the content acquisition request and transmits it to the server, and the server transmits the content according to the application information.
- JP 2004-342080 A JP 2006-163780 A
- the DRM message is inserted into the content, and the content needs to be modified for each user device in order to change the signature in the DRM message. This complicates the processing on the transmission side. Also, a system in which the image server receives application information is difficult to apply to broadcasts in which information that can be transmitted from user devices is restricted, such as one-segment broadcasting.

- the content performance determination unit 602 determines that the user device 2 is a type IV CPU and a 256 Mbyte memory from the manufacturer ID and model ID. It is determined that the decoder A is installed. Further, for example, when another user apparatus 3 that has transmitted a user agent is a model a of Company A, this user apparatus 3 is equipped with a type III CPU and a 128 Mbyte memory, and decoders A and B It is determined that none of these are installed.
- the secondary link information transmission unit 603 edits the submenu data that is data requested to be transmitted from the user device 2 (step S35), and transmits it to the user device 2 (step S36).
- the submenu data is information indicated by the URL transmitted with the transmission request, and is stored in the content storage unit 606.

- Each of the secondary link information includes, for example, three contents of “morning news 08: 00-10: 00”, “daytime news 12: 00-13: 00”, and “evening news 17: 30-19: 00”. It has an item name, a URL indicating the content, and an item display attribute.
- the sub-menu includes user device performance and decoder information necessary for display for each content pointed to by the secondary link information.
- morning news and noon news require a type IV or higher CPU, 256 MB or more of memory, and decoder B for display, and evening news includes a type III or higher CPU, 128 MB.
- the above memory and decoder A are necessary for display.
- the secondary link information transmitting unit 603 transmits the submenu data M2 with information indicating whether or not the content indicated by the secondary link information is content that requires content display performance that exceeds the content display performance of the user device. To do. More specifically, the secondary link information transmission unit 603 displays the content display performance of the user device in which the performance required for display is acquired by the content performance determination unit 602 for each of the contents corresponding to the three items of the submenu. If the number exceeds, the display attribute of the item is changed to a different type from that of other items. The display attribute is, for example, a “dark” attribute that makes the display darker than other items. Also, the URL corresponding to this item is deleted and made empty.
- the secondary link information transmission unit 603 maintains the display attribute as a normal attribute and the URL also indicates the content.
- the display attribute is set to the “dark” attribute for the morning news and the noon news that are content exceeding the content display performance of the user device 3

- a submenu is displayed.
- the submenu data has a plurality of secondary link information.
- Three buttons are displayed corresponding to each secondary link information.
- the morning news and noon news buttons are displayed darkly in distinction from the remaining buttons. Accordingly, it is displayed that the user device 3 cannot select the morning news and the noon news.
- the URLs corresponding to morning news and noon news are set to be empty, transmission of content is not requested even if these buttons are selected.
- the user device 3 is requested to transmit content when evening news is selected. In this way, reception of content that requires performance exceeding the content display performance of the user device 3 is avoided.
- the content performance determination unit 602 refers to the correspondence information 601a in step S34, and acquires the content of the user device.
- the information on whether or not the decoder A and the decoder B are included is referred to, and it is determined whether or not the requested content is requested from a decoder without the requested content (step S38). For example, if transmission of morning news as a content is requested from the user device 2, it is determined that this morning news requires a decoder B that the user device 2 which is the model B of Company A does not have.
- the program transmission unit 605 reads out the decoder requested by the content from the program storage unit 607, and the user device 2 (step S39).
- the content performance determination unit 602 determines that the user apparatus has the decoder required for content processing (Yes in step S38)
- the decoder is not transmitted.
- the content transmission unit 604 reads the requested content from the content storage unit 606 and transmits it to the user device 2 (step S40).
- FIG. 13 is a diagram illustrating a state in which a message indicating that the decoder is being transmitted from the server is displayed on the display screen of the user device.
- the decoder is incorporated (step S23). Thereafter, the network connection unit 203 receives the content, and the display unit 202 displays the content (step S24).
- the display unit decodes the received content using the incorporated decoder.
- FIG. 14 is a diagram showing a state in which the content transmitted from the server is displayed on the display screen of the user device.
- the content received from the server 6 is displayed in the upper left area P1 of the display screen 23a of the user device 2.
- the user devices 2, 3, and 4 can avoid receiving content that exceeds their own content display performance by transmitting the model information that the user devices 2, 3, and 4 have. it can. If the user apparatus does not have a decoder necessary for content processing, the decoder is transmitted from the server prior to the content.
- user agents that are already used in data broadcasting can be used to transmit model information, so existing one-segment broadcasting can be done without changing any hardware by simply changing the server processing.
- the data broadcasting system can be used.
- one server 6 is shown as an example of the data broadcast server in the basic form described in “Disclosure of the Invention”. It is not limited, and a plurality may be provided.
- the data broadcast server may be any server that transmits secondary link information and may not transmit content.
- an example of a personal computer is shown as an example of a user device in the basic mode described in “Disclosure of the Invention”.
- the user device is not limited to a personal computer.
- the receiver may be a mobile phone, an information user device, or a television receiver.
- this additional information may be any information that prevents a transmission request based on the secondary link information from being performed, for example, information indicating a lock of the transmission request. It may be added as an attribute that does not appear in the display.
- the CPU type and the memory capacity are shown as an example of the content display performance in the basic mode described in “Disclosure of the Invention”. It may be the clock speed or the presence or absence of an accelerator, or may be an index value of processing capacity such as a benchmark.
- the Internet is shown as an example of the network in the basic mode described in “Disclosure of the Invention”.
- this network may be a LAN (local area network).
- WAN wide area network
