Abstract

The invention relates to a rotating metal cutting tool (1) comprising a rotational axis with at least one primary cutting edge (2) and at least one secondary cutting edge (3). According to the invention, a free surface (10, 11) adjoins the secondary cutting edge (3) in the azimuthal direction in the opposite direction to the rotational direction (7). An outer surface region (8) is located in one region of the tool (1) with a maximum diameter, said tool region adjoining the secondary cutting edge (3) by means of a section running in the direction of the rotational axis of the tool (1) and in the azimuthal direction in the opposite direction to the rotational direction (7). The outer surface region has no relief angle.
