Abstract

The invention relates to a closing device (1) comprising at least one locking mechanism (2) having a rotary latch (3), a swivelable first pawl (4) and a second pawl (5) with which the first pawl (4) can be blocked from being swiveled. The closing device (1) further comprises an actuating mechanism (6) which swivels the second pawl (5) in a direction in such a manner that it first releases and then actively swivels the first pawl (4). The closing device is used to lock or unlock seat backs of motor vehicles.
