Abstract

The invention relates to a method for biologically manufacturing itaconic acid formed by microorganisms from corresponding substrates under a regime of oscillating dissolved oxygen concentration in the bioreactor during cultivation. In particular, the invention relates to a method for microbially manufacturing itaconic acid using itaconic acid-producing microorganisms, preferably yeasts, under aerobic submersed conditions.
