POLIVALENT BOAT FOR RESCUE, CLEANING AND RESEARCH AT SEA

D E S C R I P C I Ó N

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

The main object of the present invention is a multi-purpose vessel for rescue, cleaning and research at sea, especially designed for work in coastal areas.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

At present there are no boats dedicated and prepared for the fight against marine pollution on the coast and the coast. For example in Spain, the state agency dedicated to the fight against marine pollution (Spanish Maritime Rescue Society), has vessels with the most advanced means for such work, such as the new high-altitude tugboats "Clara Campoamor", with a construction cost of 34,250,000 euros, or the "Miguel de Cervantes" with a construction cost of 14,250,000 euros. But these are large ships with lengths of up to 80 mt. and draft of more than 8 mt., Although they are perfect for offshore missions, they are very restricted, if not made impossible by their dimensions, to perform work in coastal areas, which is a problem, considering that Spain has a very extensive coastline, which for example in the case of the Balearic Islands, reaches 1,528 km. of coast with changing orographic characteristics, great number of beaches and coves and scarce depths in the coast.

For this reason, the economic cost of collecting a polluting product on the coast is 10 times higher than collecting it on the high seas, and waste management generated tax even 20 times more said cost. In addition, although the affected coast can be regenerated more or less successfully, the damage to the ecosystem is irremediable, and also the economic damages due to the decline in tourism, in highly dependent areas, such as the Balearic Islands. In addition, the use of facilities that use seawater such as desalination plants, thermal power plants, etc. is also prevented. And the operation of the ports of discharge of essential materials is impaired.

Precisely in the case of the Balearic Islands, they are in a strategic and vulnerable situation, with an annual transport of about 350 million tons of oil per year and with some spills from land or produced by ships in navigation of between 635,000 and 800,000 tons.

On certain occasions, as in the sinking of the Don Pedro ship on August 11, 2007 in front of the Port of Ibiza (second contingency for marine pollution in less than 10 years in the area), the effects can be contained in a short space of time (12 days) without severely damaging the coast thanks to the good weather, the low pollution load of the damaged ship, the effective performance of emergency services and the collaboration of national and regional organizations, and even individuals, using small vessels designed to other type of work and in conditions of port areas, which evidences the absence of specialized vessels in these works.

However, on other occasions not so much luck is available, or the nature of the spills (chemical, harmful, lethal, etc.) only allows the use of very specific means, which are not available to other vessels, much less private vessels. .

Another drawback of the vessels dedicated and prepared for the fight against marine pollution is precisely their specialization, since although they are conveniently equipped for the function for which they were designed, they are not used for other purposes, such as for rescue at sea or for oceanographic research.

All the described drawbacks are remedied by the use of the vessel of the invention.

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The multi-purpose vessel for rescue, cleaning and research at sea of the invention has a constitution that allows these tasks to be carried out, both on the high seas and, especially, in coastal and coastal areas.

In accordance with the invention, the vessel comprises a hull with different decks in which at least crew cabins, cloths and the bridge with a government post are provided, also implementing the means of propulsion and service warehouses.

The invention proposes incorporating at least the following elements in the vessel: a side pole with implements for collecting jellyfish and contaminants; at least, a crane for multiple uses, for example for the start and collection of floating oil recovery tanks, for loading and unloading of reels and other research elements; at least one cannon of liquids to fight fires of vessels and, at least, a decontamination compartment, which enables the vessel to work to collect toxic and lethal chemical spills effectively, by implementing the means of decontamination and safety for the crew and divers.

Additionally, the vessel can incorporate a decompression chamber for divers, as well as an oceanographic and biological laboratory and an emergency care communications center, manageable by the emergency care body (112).

You can also incorporate other implements such as drag reels or start and collection of an oceanic barrier or of fish and oceanographic research networks.

Given its versatile vocation for rescue, it can also incorporate a department for the passage of shipwrecked and nursing, independent of the crew cabins.

Finally, to allow its work in coastal or shallow areas, the vessel of the invention has contained dimensions, which facilitates maneuverability and approximation in coastal areas.

The invention comprises a helmet (2) with different covers (20, 24, 25) in which the crew cabins (3), cloths (4, 4a) and the bridge (5) are arranged with Government post It also has means of propulsion (6) and service warehouses.

Likewise, the vessel (1) of the invention comprises, at least, a lateral pole (7) with implements, not shown, for collecting jellyfish and contaminants; at least one crane (8), preferably 9 tons, 11.25 meters high and an arm length of 8.60 meters; at least one cannon (9) of liquids; and at least one decontamination compartment (10) for personnel, preferably of inflatable structure. These characteristics enable the vessel to fight fires of other vessels, the rescue and collection of pollutants, both hydrocarbons and chemical, biological or organic origin, of high danger.

The vessel (1) of the invention can also comprise a fixed point tow hook (11), which in this example of the invention is 14 tons of towing capacity. The vessel of the invention also has a cloth (4a) for stowage of hydrocarbon recovery tanks (35)

("recoil" tanks), which can be extended to the water by means of the crane (8) and be towed, once filled, by means of the hook (11), so that the vessel (1) is enabled for the collection of floating spills. At destination the tanks are emptied by means of own or external pumps, and they can be stowed again in the cloth (4th).

In addition, the vessel (1) comprises a start and pick-up reel (16) of an oceanic barrier, not shown, with which it can be equipped, to confine floating spills, before or during collection.

Additionally, it can be equipped with a trawling reel (17), which increases the functions of combating spills and collecting them, as well as oceanographic or fish research.

The spools (16, 17) are removable, ideally by means of flanges and screws, not shown, and can be mounted and disassembled, and loaded and unloaded of the boat by means of the crane (8)

For stowage of all the described material, and other complementary materials, the vessel (1) additionally comprises cargo anchors on deck, not shown.

Another possibility of using the boat (1) is for rescue and rescue at sea, even by divers. To this end, it is additionally equipped with a decompression chamber (14), and with a department (18) for shipwreck and nursing, independent of the crew cabins (3). This department (18) preferably comprises an open cabin with two facing rows of armchairs (19). The armchairs (19) are convertible into stretchers, the department (18) also providing a first aid kit.

Another possibility of using the vessel (1) is for oceanographic research, for which, in addition, it is equipped with an oceanographic and biological laboratory, which can also be used for spill analysis.

The vessel (1) is also provided with a communications center optimized for the planned works of rescue, investigation and collection of spills with specific equipment. In this example of the invention, a single room (15) has been provided for the joint location of the laboratory and the communications center, in order to achieve the smallest possible vessel dimensions, to allow work in coastal areas.

Precisely for this purpose, it is preferred that the boat has a length between 12 and 30 meters.

The distribution of the boat, according to this example of the invention, would be as it appears in the figures: with an outer deck (20) on two levels, being located higher in the bow and being accessible by stairs (21) located in two side aisles ( 22). In the central part, between both corridors, it has a cabined area (23) with two inner decks (24, 25), superimposed on the bow area, thanks to the greater height of the outer deck (20) here. The two inner covers (24, 25) are connected by an internal staircase (26). In the upper inner cover

(24) the bridge (5) with the government post, the wrecking passage department (18), the decompression chamber (14), the room (15) shared by the laboratory and the communications center, and a toilet (27); while in the lower inner deck (25) the crew cabins (3), a second toilet (27a) and a kitchen (28) are arranged.

The boat (1) implements the machine room (29) under the outer deck (20) in the central area, and has fresh water tanks (30), fuel (31), sludge (32), water Faecal (33) and oils (34). In the stern area it has the storage tank (4a) of the hydrocarbon recovery tank (35), while over the cabin area (23) it has an open bridge (36) for stowage of an auxiliary vessel (37) and of a launch crane (38) thereof. In this area there is also an arc (39) for mounting the signaling mast (40) electronic equipment (41) and the liquid cannon (9). In the bow area it has an anchor windlass (42) on the outer cover (20) and a rasel (42) under said outer cover (20).

Claims

1. Multi-purpose vessel (1) for rescue, cleaning and research at sea, comprising a hull (2) with different decks (20, 24, 25) with crew cabins (3), cloths (4, 4a) and bridge (5) with a government post, as well as means of propulsion (6) and service deposits; characterized in that it comprises at least one lateral pole (7) with implements for collecting jellyfish and contaminants; at least one crane (8); at least one cannon (9) of liquids; and at least one decontamination compartment (10).

2. Multi-purpose vessel (1) for rescue, cleaning and research at sea according to claim 1 characterized in that the crane (8) consists of a 9-ton crane, 11, 25 meters high and an arm length of 8.60 meters .

3. Multi-purpose vessel (1) for rescue, cleaning and research at sea according to claims 1 or 2 characterized in that the decontamination compartment (10) has an inflatable structure.

4. Multi-purpose vessel (1) for rescue, cleaning and research at sea according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that it additionally comprises a fixed point drag hook (11).

5. Multi-purpose vessel (1) for rescue, cleaning and research at sea according to claim 4 characterized in that the hook (11) has 14 tons of drag capacity.

6. Multi-purpose vessel (1) for rescue, cleaning and research at sea according to any of the preceding claims, characterized in that it additionally comprises cargo anchors on deck.

7. Multi-purpose vessel (1) for rescue, cleaning and research at sea according to any of the preceding claims characterized in that additionally it comprises a decompression chamber (14).

8. Multi-purpose vessel (1) for rescue, cleaning and research at sea according to any of the preceding claims characterized in that it additionally comprises an oceanographic and biological laboratory.

9. Multi-purpose vessel (1) for rescue, cleaning and research at sea according to any of the preceding claims characterized in that it additionally comprises an emergency communications center.

10. Multi-purpose vessel (1) for rescue, cleaning and research at sea according to claims 8 and 9 characterized in that the laboratory and the communications center are located in the same room (15).

11. Multi-purpose vessel (1) for rescue, cleaning and research at sea according to any of the preceding claims characterized in that it additionally comprises a start and pick-up reel (16) of an oceanic barrier.

12. Multi-purpose vessel (1) for rescue, cleaning and research at sea according to any of the preceding claims characterized in that it additionally comprises a trailing trolley (17).

13. Multi-purpose vessel (1) for rescue, cleaning and investigation at sea according to claims 11 and / or 12 characterized in that the start and pick-up reel (16) and / or drag reel (17) are removable.

14. Multi-purpose vessel (1) for rescue, cleaning and research at sea according to any of the preceding claims characterized in that it additionally comprises a department (18) for shipwreck and nursing passage, independent of the crew cabins (3).
