Esta invención que se presenta aporta múltiples ventajas sobre los dispositivos equivalentes disponibles en la actualidad siendo la más importante que la superficie colectora o cara vista de la placa, puede ser de prácticamente cualquier material arquitectónico, pudiendo integrarse directamente en la estructura de un edificio, tanto en cubiertas como en fachadas.

PLACA SOLAR TERMOELÉCTRICA
La presente memoria descriptiva se refiere, como su título indica, a un placa solar termoeléctrica del tipo de las utilizadas para Ia generación de energía eléctrica a partir de Ia energía solar, caracterizada porque comprende en su parte anterior una placa colectora de Ia energía solar, en su parte intermedia una pluralidad de módulos generadores termoeléctricos de tipo Seebeck, y en su parte posterior un elemento refrigerador, estando todo ello relacionado entre sí por presión mediante los oportunos medios de fijación.
El efecto de Ia generación de energía eléctrica en un termopar metálico sometido a una diferencia de temperatura en sus uniones, también conocido como efecto Seebeck, fue descubierto por Thomas Johann
Seebeck ya en el siglo XIX. La fórmula que caracteriza este efecto es V = a (Tc - Tf), donde:
V = Voltaje (en Voltios, V) a = Coeficiente de Seebeck, característico de cada termopar (v/°K)
Tc = Temperatura de Ia unión caliente (grados Kelvin, 0K)
Tf = Temperatura de Ia unión fría (grados Kelvin , 0K)
Los coeficientes de Seebeck de los termopares metálicos son muy discretos y producen voltajes bajos que limitan su utilización como generadores eléctricos a Ia existencia de grandes saltos térmicos, del orden de centenares de grados, por Io que tradicionalmente se han utilizado únicamente en aquellos casos en los que existe abundancia de energía calorífica, como por ejemplo pilas nucleares en el caso de las sondas espaciales, quemadores en gaseoductos y oleoductos, gases de escape de maquinaria pesada, etc., o bien en situaciones muy particulares de escasa accesibilidad, como por ejemplo en el espacio profundo o en estaciones remotas o aisladas.
En el campo de las energías renovables, Ia limitada cantidad de energía eléctrica que se podía obtener ha hecho que se descarte comercialmente Ia utilización de generadores eléctricos basados en el efecto
Seebeck, en beneficio de generadores fotovoltaicos y aerogeneradores, ampliamente conocidos y utilizados en Ia actualidad.
El desarrollo de los materiales semiconductores ha permitido Ia fabricación de módulos compactos que agrupan en pequeñas superficies multitud de termopares, cada uno de ellos con un coeficiente de Seebeck notablemente superior al de los metálicos. Estos módulos son capaces de alcanzar voltajes y potencias eléctricas apreciables incluso a diferencia de temperaturas moderadas, del orden de decenas de grados, como las que se obtienen en las superficies expuestas a Ia radiación solar, Io que permite su utilización como generadores viables.
Los módulos Seebeck aptos para producir energía eléctrica basándose en este efecto son conocidos también como generadores termoeléctricos o termoeléctricos, TEGs, o termopilas.
En Ia actualidad, los dispositivos conocidos y utilizados para aprovechar Ia radiación solar en Ia producción de energía más habituales a nivel doméstico son principalmente de dos tipos".
1,- Paneles fotovoltaicos: Paneles, por lo genera) de células de silicio, sensibles a Ia luz del sol y capaces de producir del orden de 100 watios por metro cuadrado. Su utilización es muy común, en buena medida gracias a su relativo abaratamiento, sobre todo en ubicaciones alejadas de Ia red eléctrica y también en edificios que disponen de una superficie apta suficientemente amplia (viviendas unifamiliares, edificios públicos,...), ya que son difícilmente integrables en Ia estructura arquitectónica. Se utilizan también en los llamados 'huertos solares', instalaciones industriales de generación de energía. Presentan los siguientes problemas e inconvenientes:
• La propia estructura de los paneles, en los que Ia superficie fotosensible de silicio tiene que estar expuesta a Ia luz solar, hace que sean frágiles y requieran de un mantenimiento y limpieza periódicos.
• Baja integrabilidad arquitectónica
• El rendimiento eléctrico del panel fotovoltaico decrece con el aumento de temperatura del mismo. Conforme Ia radiación solar calienta Ia superficie fotosensible, Ia corriente eléctrica decrece.
• La competencia por el silicio con Ia industria informática hace temer una escasez en Ia oferta de este material y un eventual encarecimiento de los paneles.
• Únicamente generan energía eléctrica.
2.- Colectores solares: Son paneles diseñados para aprovechar Ia radiación solar para calentar fluidos, generalmente agua caliente de uso sanitario (ACS) o, en menor medida, para uso industrial.
También su uso se ha generalizado particularmente para Ia obtención de
ACS. Tiene como principales inconvenientes:
• Como los paneles fotovoltaicos, también tienen el problema de Ia fragilidad, el mantenimiento y Ia baja integrabilidad arquitectónica.
• No producen electricidad.
Se ha intentado buscar otras soluciones. Por ejemplo las patentes ES 542450 "Un generador termoeléctrico con factor de potencia mejorado", ES 432173 "Un dispositivo generador eléctrico perfeccionado junto con un convertidor termoeléctrico y una fuente primaria para el mismo" y US 581506 "Un aparato generador termoeléctrico" describen dispositivos basados en el efecto Seebeck para lograr Ia generación de electricidad a partir del calor, pero presentan el problema, tal y como se ha descrito anteriormente, de necesitar un elevado gradiente de temperatura,
por lo que únicamente son utilizables para obtener electricidad a partir de un regulador nuclear.
También son conocidas otro tipo de realizaciones basadas en el efecto Seebeck. Por ejemplo el Modelo de Utilidad 200501577 "Dispositivo de iluminación con recuperación de energía" presenta un dispositivo para Ia generación de electricidad a partir del calor generado por un dispositivo de iluminación a LED, aunque presenta el inconveniente de no ser directamente aplicable a Ia generación a partir de energía solar.
También son conocidas realizaciones como Ia descrita en el Modelo de Utilidad 230226 "Dispositivo generador de frío", que emplean el mismo principio para el efecto inverso, obteniendo frío a partir de electricidad.
Para solventar Ia problemática existente en Ia actualidad en cuanto al problema de Ia generación de energía eléctrica a partir de Ia energía solar se ha ideado Ia placa solar termoeléctrica objeto de Ia presente invención, Ia cual comprende en su parte superior una placa colectora de Ia energía solar, en su parte intermedia una pluralidad de módulos generadores termoeléctricos de tipo Seebeck, y en su parte inferior un elemento refrigerador, estando todo ello relacionado entre sí por presión mediante los oportunos medios de fijación, que pueden ser tanto medios mecánicos como sustancias adhesivas, o una combinación de ambos.
La placa colectora de energía solar se puede realizar utilizando cualquiera de los materiales comunes en acabados arquitectónicos, como por ejemplo metal, cemento, hormigón, ladrillo, porcelana, cerámica, o plásticos, Io cual Ie permite integrarse directamente en Ia estructura de un edificio, tanto en cubiertas como en fachadas. Esta placa colectora de energía solar incrementa su temperatura mediante Ia absorción de Ia radiación solar, transmitiendo ese calor a los módulos generadores termoeléctricos Seebeck que están en contacto directo o por medio de material termoconductor con Ia placa colectora por su cara caliente.
En caso de que sean más de un módulo, estos están conectados eléctricamente entre ellos en serie, en paralelo o en Ia combinación serie/paralelo más oportuna al objeto de obtener una corriente eléctrica de características adecuadas.
La cara fría de los módulos generadores termoeléctricos
Seebeck se encuentra en contacto directo o mediante material termoconductor con el elemento refrigerador, el cual puede estar constituido por un radiador de calor directamente 'al aire1 (con aletas u otro diseño difusor de calor) o bien de forma alternativa por unas conducciones apropiadas, a través de las cuales circula un fluido refrigerador, que propicia Ia utilización del calor retirado de Ia placa termoeléctrica para otros usos, como por ejemplo agua caliente sanitaria.
Para provocar el efecto invernadero y potenciar el aumento de temperatura, Ia placa colectora puede estar dotada opcionalmente de una cubierta transparente a Ia radiación solar y termoaislante.
Esta placa solar termoeléctrica que se presenta aporta múltiples ventajas sobre los dispositivos equivalentes disponibles en Ia actualidad siendo Ia más importante que Ia superficie colectora o cara vista de Ia placa, puede ser de prácticamente cualquier material arquitectónico, pudiendo integrarse directamente en Ia estructura de un edificio, tanto en cubiertas como en fachadas.
Es importante asimismo destacar Ia ventaja que supone que Ia superficie colectora es de material resistente, difícilmente alterable y precisa de poco o ningún mantenimiento o limpieza.
Otra importante ventaja a destacar es que el rendimiento eléctrico del panel termoeléctrico es función lineal directa de Ia diferencia de temperatura entre Ia superficie colectora y el difusor, con Io cual a mayor irradiación y gradiente de temperatura se obtiene más corriente eléctrica.
Es importante destacar asimismo Ia ventaja que supone que Ia capacidad de producción de Ia industria de módulos termoeléctricos excede
en mucho a Ia demanda, por Io que no es previsible un encarecimiento de los módulos por falta de suministro, además de Ia ventaja añadida de que el resto de los componentes del panel termoeléctrico son elementos estándar.
No debemos dejar de resaltar Ia innegable ventaja que implica Ia alternativa de refrigeración por fluido del difusor, ya que permite obtener agua caliente como segundo producto, consiguiendo Ia producción combinada de electricidad y agua caliente en una única placa.
Para comprender mejor el objeto de Ia presente invención, en el plano anexo se ha representado una realización práctica preferencial de una placa solar termoeléctrica
En dicho plano Ia figura - 1 - muestra unas vistas en alzado, planta y perfil, con un detalle ampliado, de un ejemplo de placa solar termoeléctrica con placa colectora al aire y elemento refrigerador del tipo de radiador al aire.
La figura -2- muestra un ejemplo de placa solar termoeléctrica adaptada según orientación y latitud mediante un ángulo calculado en función de Ia orientación de Ia placa y/o latitud.
La figura -3- muestra un ejemplo de realización alternativa de placa solar termoeléctrica con placa colectora dotada de cubierta para efecto invernadero.
La figura -4- muestra un ejemplo de realización alternativa de placa solar termoeléctrica con elemento refrigerador mediante fluido circulante.
La placa solar termoeléctrica objeto de Ia presente invención, esta formado básicamente, como puede apreciarse en el plano anexo, por una placa colectora (1) .de Ia energía solar, en su parte intermedia una pluralidad de generadores termoeléctricos (2) de tipo Seebeck, y en su parte inferior un elemento refrigerador (3,4), estando todo ello relacionado entre sí por presión mediante los oportunos medios de fijación (5).
El elemento refrigerador está constituido por un radiador (3) o bien de forma alternativa por unas conducciones (4) a través de las cuales circula un fluido (9) refrigerador.
El espacio entre Ia placa colectora (1) y el elemento refrigerador (3,4) que no queda ocupado por los generadores termoeléctricos (2) de tipo Seebeck se rellena con material termoaislante (6).
La placa colectora (1) de energía solar se puede realizar utilizando cualquiera de los materiales comunes en acabados arquitectónicos, como por ejemplo metal, cemento, hormigón, ladrillo, porcelana, cerámica, plástico, Io cual Ie permite integrarse directamente en Ia estructura de un edificio, tanto en cubiertas como en fachadas. Puede ser plana o bien adoptar una forma inclinada o escalonada en un oportuno ángulo (8) calculado en función de Ia orientación de Ia placa y/o latitud para obtener el máximo de incidencia de los rayos solares.
Esta placa colectora (1) de energía solar incrementa su temperatura mediante Ia absorción de Ia radiación solar, transmitiendo ese calor a los generadores termoeléctricos (2) de tipo Seebeck que están en contacto directo, o bien por medio de un material termoconductor intermedio, con Ia placa colectora (1) por su cara caliente.
En caso de que exista más de un generador termoeléctrico (2), estos están conectados eléctricamente entre ellos en serie, en paralelo o en Ia combinación serie/paralelo más oportuna al objeto de obtener una corriente eléctrica de características adecuadas. La corriente eléctrica generada se entrega mediante los oportunos cables de conexión a un circuito externo.
La cara fría de los generadores termoeléctricos (2) de tipo Seebeck se encuentra en contacto directo, o bien por medio de un material termoconductor intermedio, con el elemento refrigerador constituido
preferentemente por un radiador (3) que transfiere ese calor directamente al aire, del tipo de aletas u otro diseño difusor de calor equivalente.
Esta prevista una realización alternativa de Ia invención en Ia que el elemento refrigerador está constituido por unas conducciones (4) a través de las cuales circula un fluido (9) refrigerador, que propicia Ia utilización del calor retirado de Ia placa termoeléctrica para otros usos, como por ejemplo agua caliente sanitaria. En esta realización alternativa está previsto asimismo que el flujo del fluido (9) refrigerador pueda ser variable mediante un grifo o válvula reguladora, permitiendo obtener fluido (9) a temperatura regulable en función de Ia posición del grifo o válvula reguladora, ya que en función de Ia cantidad de fluido (9) circulante Ia refrigeración obtenida será mayor o menor, y por tanto Ia temperatura que alcance será diferente.
Para provocar el efecto invernadero y potenciar el aumento de temperatura, Ia placa colectora (1) puede estar dotada opcionalmente de una cubierta traslucida (10) a Ia radiación solar y termoaislante, fijada mediante los oportunos perfiles de sujeción (11).
Los medios de fijación (5) pueden ser tanto cualquiera de los elementos mecánicos convencionalmente utilizados, por ejemplo tornillería o mordazas termoaislantes, como sustancias adhesivas, o una combinación de ambos, siempre que aseguren Ia ruptura del efecto puente térmico y que Ia transferencia de calor entre ambas superficies se realiza exclusivamente a través los módulos Seebeck.
El funcionamiento de Ia placa solar termoeléctrica se basa en que Ia radiación solar que incide sobre Ia placa colectora (1) provoca un aumento de Ia temperatura de Ia misma. El elemento refrigerador (3,4) se mantiene, en cambio, a menor temperatura al ceder el exceso de calor al aire o al fluido (9) refrigerador. Como resultado, entre las caras caliente y fría de los generadores termoeléctricos (2) de tipo Seebeck se crea una diferencia de temperatura que genera el efecto termoeléctrico. La corriente
eléctrica producida por el módulo o combinación de módulos se transfiere al circuito externo para su adecuación y utilización o almacenamiento.
Claims
REIVINDICACIONES
1 - Placa solar termoeléctrica del tipo de las utilizadas para Ia generación de energía eléctrica a partir de Ia energía solar, caracterizada porque comprende en su parte anterior una placa colectora (1) de Ia energía solar, en su parte intermedia una pluralidad de generadores termoeléctricos (2) de tipo Seebeck, y en su parte posterior un elemento refrigerador (3,4), estando todo ello relacionado entre sí por presión mediante los oportunos medios de fijación (5).
2 - Placa solar termoeléctrica, según Ia anterior reivindicación, caracterizada porque el espacio entre Ia placa colectora (1) y el difusor (3,4) que no queda ocupado por los generadores termoeléctricos (2) de tipo Seebeck está relleno de material termoaislante (6).
3 - Placa solar termoeléctrica, según las anteriores reivindicaciones, caracterizada porque Ia placa colectora (1) de energía solar es una superficie plana.
4 - Placa solar termoeléctrica, según las anteriores reivindicaciones 1 a Ia 2, caracterizada porque Ia placa colectora (1) de energía solar adopta una forma inclinada en un oportuno ángulo (8) calculado en función de Ia orientación de Ia placa y/o latitud.
5 - Placa solar termoeléctrica, según las anteriores reivindicaciones 1 a Ia 2, caracterizada porque Ia placa colectora (1) de energía solar adopta una forma escalonada en un oportuno ángulo (8) calculado en función de Ia orientación de Ia placa y/o latitud.
6 - Placa solar termoeléctrica, según cualquiera de las anteriores reivindicaciones, caracterizada porque entre Ia placa colectora (1) de energía solar y los generadores termoeléctricos (2) de tipo Seebeck se intercala una lámina de material termoconductor intermedio.
7 - Placa solar termoeléctrica, según cualquiera de las anteriores reivindicaciones, caracterizada porque los módulos semiconductores (2) están conectados eléctricamente entre ellos en serie, en paralelo o en Ia combinación serie/paralelo más oportuna al objeto de obtener una corriente eléctrica de características adecuadas, que se entrega mediante los oportunos cables de conexión a un circuito externo.
8 - Placa solar termoeléctrica, según cualquiera de las anteriores reivindicaciones, caracterizada porque entre Ia cara fría de los generadores termoeléctricos (2) de tipo Seebeck y el elemento refrigerador (3,4) se intercala una lámina de material termoconductor intermedio.
9 - Placa solar termoeléctrica, según cualquiera de las anteriores reivindicaciones, caracterizada porque el elemento refrigerador está constituido por un radiador (3) de calor directamente al aire, del tipo de aletas u otro diseño difusor de calor equivalente.
10 - Placa solar termoeléctrica, según cualquiera de las anteriores reivindicaciones 1 a Ia 8, caracterizada porque el elemento refrigerador está constituido por unas conducciones (4) a través de las cuales circula un fluido (9) refrigerador.
11 - Placa solar termoeléctrica, según cualquiera de las anteriores reivindicaciones 1 a Ia 8 y 10, caracterizada porque el caudal de fluido (9) refrigerador por las conducciones (4) es variable mediante un grifo o válvula reguladora.
12 - Placa solar termoeléctrica, según cualquiera de las anteriores reivindicaciones, caracterizada porque Ia placa colectora (1) está dotada de una cubierta traslucida (10) a Ia radiación solar y termoaislante, fijada mediante los oportunos perfiles de sujeción (11).
13 - Placa solar termoeléctrica, según cualquiera de las anteriores reivindicaciones, caracterizada porque los medios de fijación (5)
son cualquiera de los elementos mecánicos convencionalmente utilizados que aseguren Ia ruptura del efecto puente térmico y que Ia transferencia de calor entre ambas superficies se realiza exclusivamente a través los módulos Seebeck.
14 - Placa solar termoeléctrica, según cualquiera de las anteriores reivindicaciones 1 a Ia 12, caracterizada porque los medios de fijación (5) son sustancias adhesivas que aseguren Ia ruptura del efecto puente térmico y que Ia transferencia de calor entre ambas superficies se realiza exclusivamente a través los módulos Seebeck.
15 - . Placa solar termoeléctrica, según cualquiera de las anteriores reivindicaciones 1 a Ia 12, caracterizada porque los medios de fijación (5) son una combinación de elementos mecánicos convencionales y sustancias adhesivas que aseguren Ia ruptura del efecto puente térmico y que Ia transferencia de calor entre ambas superficies se realiza exclusivamente a través los módulos Seebeck.
16 - Uso de una placa solar termoeléctrica, según cualquiera de las anteriores reivindicaciones, como parte integrante, y utilizando sus mismos materiales, de Ia estructura de un edificio, tanto en cubiertas como en fachadas.
17 - Uso de una placa solar termoeléctrica, según cualquiera de las anteriores reivindicaciones 1 a Ia 8, 10, 11, 13, 14 y 15, para Ia obtención de agua caliente para calefacción.
18 - Uso de una placa solar termoeléctrica, según cualquiera de las anteriores reivindicaciones 1 a Ia 8, 10, 11, 13, 14 y 15,, para Ia obtención de agua caliente sanitaria de temperatura variable.
