Description

System for the treatment of diabetes
The subject of the invention relates to a system for the treatment of diabetes.
At present there are over 150 million registered diabetics in the world, and according to estimates the number of those who are not registered or do not yet know that they are diabetics is at least the same. In Hungary about 700 thousand people suffer from diabetes, and the number of unregistered diabetics is at least the same. However, the most distressing fact is that the total number of diabetics increases by 3-5% from year to year.
At present the cause of the development of diabetes is not precisely known, only the consequences are known, which, besides and despite medical treatments, generate harmful processes in the body, as a result of which the condition of the body deteriorates continuously, the vessel walls become damaged, after some time vision becomes defective, which is followed by more severe problems, such as renal and heart problems, muscular spasms, and the final consequence of all these is death. However, it is true that this process takes many years, 5-10 or sometimes even more than 20 years. Changes take place in people with diabetes that prevent normal, proper operation of the bodily functions. Diabetes is accompanied by the failure of certain regulating systems, therefore the operation of the body becomes unstable and fails to maintain or continue its appropriate operation. As a result of the failure of the regulating system fundamental irregularity develops in the organism in a measurable way - increased blood sugar level - and then this may be followed by other complications deriving from diabetes.
According to the present state of medical science, in the initial stages the disease can be treated by following an appropriate diet and a course of medication. At a more severe stage of the disease, or in cases when the blood sugar level is already extremely high when the disease is diagnosed, insulin injections need to be administered.
Diet and drugs help to slow down the deterioration and progression of the disease, to delay the more severe stages of the disease as much as possible. The higher the blood sugar level is in the organism as compared to the normal level, the sooner the condition of the organism deteriorates, and the sooner severe consequences and organ diseases develop in the body.
Consequently the current methods of medical treatment are not aimed at restoring the original and proper operation of the body, but they are aimed at supplying the materials lacking in the organism, for example, supplying the insulin that is lacking from the body, etc.
Many different types of drug research are currently being carried out to find a cure for diabetes, but so far no breakthroughs have been achieved in this field. On the basis of the above it is obvious that there is a great demand for developing a new therapeutic procedure that does not simply involve symptomatic treatment, but also restores the injured metabolic system of the body, while even in the case of permanent use of it no adverse events need to be feared.
The aim of the invention is to reduce increased blood sugar level to within the normal range, in other words to restore the appropriate operation of the body in a way completely different. from traditional medication, without the use of drugs. Consequently the final aim is to restore the health of patients with diabetes.
The human body is continuously exposed to magnetic fields of different types, intensities, frequencies, amplitudes, strengths and directions. If the intensity of these fields exceeds a certain limit, they have a harmful effect on the body. Hungarian and European standards allow the use of permanent or alternating magnetic fields of a maximum intensity of 100 μT. This intensity is not yet harmful to the body, therefore the use of magnetic fields of lower intensity is allowed in the scope of the so-called wellness technologies. The beneficial effect of the use of magnetic fields has been observed in numerous cases. Paracelsus was the first to realise that permanent magnetic iron ore could be used for medical treatments, and he used it successfully during various therapeutic procedures. Presently alternating or permanent magnetic fields are used first of all for relieving rheumatic complaints, treating allergies and improving circulation in capillary vessels.
The invention is based on the recognition that the joint or sequential use of various types of magnetic fields and electric current impulses of low intensity and alternating frequency introduced into the body generate changes in the operation of the organism, which result in the reduction of the blood sugar level and the enhancement of the natural regulating mechanism. By applying an appropriate combination of treatments in the appropriate order and for an appropriate duration, involving the use of various types of permanent and alternating current magnetic fields and the introduction of low-intensity electric current impulses into the body through the skin after choosing the appropriate electrodes, the blood sugar level in patients with type 2 diabetes can be restored to the normal value.
According to the invention the set aim is reached with a system for the treatment of diabetes, which comprises: - a first treatment device with a lying surface, under which surface magnetic coils are arranged with their axes essentially at right angles to the lying surface;
- a magnetic treatment tube for accommodating parts of the human or animal body, on the tubular supporting element of which there is a magnetic coil; and
- a pair of electrodes consisting of a first and a second treatment electrode.
Certain preferred embodiments of the system for the treatment of diabetes according to the invention are defined in the dependent claims. Further details of the invention are described on the basis of examples of the embodiment, with the help of a drawing. In the drawing figure 1 shows the schematic cross-sectional top view of the first treatment device of the system for the treatment of diabetes according to the invention, figure 2 is a schematic cross-sectional elevation diagram illustrating the treatment performed using the treatment device, figure 3 is a schematic perspective elevation diagram illustrating the use of the magnetic treatment tube according to the invention, figure 4 is the schematic cross-sectional view of the pair of electrodes according to the invention, figure 5 is a schematic elevation diagram illustrating the treatment performed using the bio-resonance treatment device according to the invention, and figures 6 - 10 are diagrams illustrating the changes in the blood sugar level of patients treated with the system for the treatment of diabetes according to the invention.
Figure 1 shows the schematic cross-sectional top view of the first treatment device 10 of the system for the treatment of diabetes according to the invention, while in figure 2 the use of the same first treatment device 10 is illustrated.
In the case of the embodiment shown, the first treatment device 10 comprises a mattress 12, inside which mattress 12 there are magnetic coils 16 attached to a flexible carrying plate 14. Preferably the mattress 12 is about 2 m long and about 90-100 cm wide (the size of a single mattress), to enable the person 18 to be treated to lie on the lying surface 20 of the mattress 12 and rest comfortably in a lying position during treatment.
In the case of the embodiment shown the magnetic coils 16 are arranged in one single line, along the line of the trunk of the treated person 18, although it is not mandatory as the magnetic coils 16 may also be arranged in different optional forms depending on the desired treatment, for example, in several lines or only along the section of the mattress 12 under the trunk of the treated person 18. The magnetic coils 16 may be created, for example, by etching onto printed circuit boards (PCB). The connection shown in figure 1 is not mandatory, as other different serial and/or parallel connections can also be realised between the magnetic coils 16. Furthermore - with the appropriate connection arrangement - the magnetic coils 16 can be controlled in pairs or in optional groups.
During the treatment, with the help of the magnetic coils 16 a magnetic field preferably with an intensity of less than 50 μT is created (the maximum value allowed by the health standards is 100 μT), more preferably the intensity of the magnetic field should be between about 3.5 - 35 μT.
The magnetic coils 16, together with the carrying plate 14, are arranged in the vicinity of the lying surface 20, therefore the magnetic field B created by the magnetic coils 16 in the environment of the lying surface 20 can be regarded as being perpendicular to it. The input of the magnetic coils 16 is connected to the alternating voltage output 26a of the voltage signal generator 24, the frequency of which can be altered preferably between 1 Hz and 200 kHz.
During the treatment the treated person 18 lies on the lying surface 20 of the mattress 12, and during the treatment period the frequency of the alternating voltage signal generator 24 is altered between 1 Hz and 200 kHz, creating by this a magnetic field pulsating at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the treated person 18 with the help of the magnetic coils 16.
The second treatment device of the system for the treatment of diabetes according to the invention is the magnetic treatment tube 30 shown in figure 3, which basically comprises a tubular supporting element 31 and a cable coiled around it, and the latter one forms an air-cored magnetic coil 32. The tubular supporting element 31 may be, for example, a cylinder as shown in the figure, or any other tube, for example, with a square profile. Preferably the internal diameter of the tubular supporting element 31 should be chosen to make it suitable for accommodating even the trunk of a human (optionally an animal). The use of smaller treatment tubes 30 is also possible, for example, for the targeted treatment of the limbs.
The magnetic coil 32 is connected to the output 26b of the voltage signal generator 24 shared with the first treatment device or separate from that of the first treatment device. Preferably alternating sine-wave low-frequency output voltage created by impulse groups consisting of two consecutive impulses is supplied on the output 26b of the voltage signal generator 24, and its frequency can be altered preferably between 1 Hz and 50 Hz. When using the magnetic treatment tube 30, the treatment tube 30 is pulled around the part of the body of the treated person 18 that needs to be treated (chest, trunk, limbs, etc.), and then with the help of the magnetic coil 32 a pulsating magnetic field is created parallel to the longitudinal axis of the treated person, and the frequency of this magnetic field is maintained at a permanent value during the particular instance of treatment. The frequency is chosen depending on the stage of the disease and on the patient's age, typically within the range between 10 and 40 Hz. The treatment can be performed before, after or even during the treatment performed on the mattress 12 of the first treatment device 10 with the first treatment device 10. It is pointed out that the magnetic field generated by the magnetic coil 32 is at right angles to the magnetic field generated by the magnetic coils situated in the mattress 12.
Furthermore, the treatment can be performed as shown in figure 3, in lying position, or in any other position, when the part of the body to be treated is guided through the treatment tube 30.
The third treatment device of the system for the treatment of diabetes according to the invention is the pair of electrodes 42 containing a first and a second treatment electrode 40, 41 as shown in figure 4.
The treatment electrodes 40, 41 have a longitudinal axis t, and they have an electrode surface 44 essentially at right angles to the longitudinal axis t and a magnet 46 positioned along the longitudinal axis. The magnets 46 are arranged in the treatment electrodes 40, 41 in such a way that their magnetic axis connecting the north pole N and the south pole S is essentially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the treatment electrodes; in the first treatment electrode 40 the north pole N while in the second treatment electrode the south pole S is situated closer to the electrode surface 44. Preferably a moisture absorbent sheet can be attached to the electrode surfaces 44 from the outside, practically a gauze pad 47, which, when wetted, can be used to reduce the electric resistance of the skin. Preferably the gauze pad 47 is fixed with the help of a clamp element, for example, a ring clamp 48, which can be joined to the treatment electrodes 40, 41 in a form-fitting way or in any other known way.
The treatment electrodes are connected to the output 26c of the voltage signal generator 24, which can be the same as the one above or a separate one, which output 26c emits a series of sharply peaked pulses with adjustable voltage value and with tune-like variable frequency between 5 and 20 kHz. The pitch of the tone of the tune controls the frequency of the treatment impulse, which varies preferably between 5 Hz and 20 kHz, and the given frequency is applied for as long as the given tone is emitted. In this way in practice a randomly varying series of sharply peaked pulses can be generated. The voltage value of the impulses is changed depending on the skin resistance of the treated person, practically with the help of a potentiometer, making sure that the applied voltage does not exceed the pain threshold.
The size of the electrode surface 44 of the treatment electrodes 40, 41 depends on the body part to be treated, for example, in the case of the limbs it may mean a diameter of about 30 mm, while in the case of the back or the chest it may mean a diameter of about 100 mm.
Before the treatment the gauze pads 47 attached to the electrode surface 44 of the treatment electrodes 40, 41 are wetted, then the treatment electrodes are placed on the body on the acupuncture points used for the treatment of diabetes (according to Chinese medical practices), and using the potentiometer the current intensity is increased until it is still not painful. Under such circumstances the treatment is performed for about 3 minutes on a given pair of points, and then the treatment is continued on all further pairs of acupuncture points. Through the treatment of the meridians the energy flow balance of the body is restored according to Chinese medicine.
The treatment performed with the treatment electrodes 40, 41 can be used in sequence with the first treatment device 10 or the magnetic treatment tube 30, or it can be preferably combined with either of them. The electric current generated between the treatment electrodes 40, 41 results in an enhanced therapeutic effect in the external magnetic field created by the magnetic coils 16 or the magnetic coil 32, as lateral forces are also exerted onto the flowing ions creating electric current in the external magnetic field.
The system for the treatment of diabetes according to the invention may optionally contain a fourth bio-resonance treatment device 50 too, the use of which is illustrated in figure 5. Bio-resonance treatment devices operate on the principle that deficient signal transmission inside the organism at cell-cell or organ-organ level is corrected with artificial external signs facilitating by this cooperation between the internal units of the organism and self-regeneration. During bio- resonance treatments the internal signal of the organism is measured, then it is appropriately modulated and returned into the organism in the form of a therapeutic signal. In accordance with this the bio-resonance treatment device 50 contains signal sensing and signal transmitting units, for example, bio-resonance electrodes 52 that can be attached to the wrists and the ankles as shown in figure 5, the signals of which are controlled by a bio-resonance signal controlling unit 54. Such a bio-resonance signal controlling unit 54 may be, for example, a computer with a software - available in commercial distribution -, and the bio-resonance signal is provided by an appropriate bio-resonance voltage signal generator 24, which can be a device the same as former generators, or a different device also available in commercial distribution. The output 26d of the voltage signal generator 24 provides alternating frequency low voltage for the bio-resonance electrodes 52. The frequency of the output 26d varies between 1 Hz and 1 MHz. The output voltage and frequency is set to a bio-resonance value adjusted to the operating frequency of the individual organs, which value is the same as the operating frequency of the given internal unit of the organism (its subharmonic and superharmonic frequencies).
During treatment the bio-resonance electrodes 52 are placed on and attached to the two wrists and ankles (optionally to the navel or other part of the body) with their metal surfaces facing the body of the treated person 18, and then with the help of the bio-resonance signal controlling unit 54 appropriately selected (filtered) frequencies are entered into the body through the output 26d.
The efficiency of the treatment can be improved by ensuring a lying surface 55 with a magnetic treatment section situated under the trunk of the treated person 18. The magnetic treatment section 56 may be a separate thin cushion placed on the lying surface 55 under the trunk of the treated person 18. Preferably the magnetic treatment section 56 is also connected to the output 26d of the voltage signal generator 24 controlled by the bio-resonance signal controlling unit 54.
Preferably the bio-resonance treatment device 50 and the first three treatment devices are used in succession, possibly with a treatment interval of several days.
Bio-resonance treatment devices have been used even before for the treatment of different diseases, but no such device has been used for the treatment of diabetes.
According to the state of the art, diabetes is treated with drugs, supplementecf with dietary advice. These treatments provide help in slowing down the rate of deterioration of the diseases, delaying the occurrence of more severe conditions.
As opposed to this, using the new system for the treatment of diabetes according to this invention, observing the treatment parameters described above, the blood sugar level of diabetics can be restored to the normal level, as a result of which the adverse effects caused by high blood sugar levels can be terminated, and as the operation of the body is normalised, other organ diseases are eliminated too. The term and frequency of the treatment, the order in which the individual treatment devices are used and the necessity of the optional bio- resonance treatment device 50 is determined depending on the reaction of the treated organism, as the organism of each patient gives a unique response to the treatment.
The diagrams in figures 6-10 show the decrease in the blood sugar level achieved using the system for the treatment of diabetes according to the invention, in the case of the individual treated persons. Table 1 below contains a summary of the results.
Figure imgf000010_0001
Table 1
Dr. L. S.: The diagram in figure 6 shows that by the second week of the treatment the blood sugar level became normal. Within a relatively short period of time the blood sugar level reduced gradually. Mrs. Dr. L. S.: Figure 7 shows that during the treatment the blood sugar level decreased continuously. After about two weeks the blood sugar level became stabilised.
M. B.: In the diagram in figure 8 it can be seen that during the first week there were still excessive fluctuations in the blood sugar level. In the second week these fluctuations became less significant, and in the third week the blood sugar level became stabilised at a normal level. This person reached this result without using any drugs, insulin or special diet.
Sz. L.: In figure 9 it can be seen that the organism of this person responded to the treatment quite quickly, as already in the first week a significant change could be observed. Already in the second week the blood sugar level became practically stabilised.
Mrs. Sz. L.: Figure 10 shows that the organism responded to the treatment relatively quickly. In the first two weeks there were still some fluctuations, and in the third week the blood sugar level became stabilised.
The efficiency of the system for the treatment of diabetes according to the invention is due to that treatment devices were provided (the first treatment device 10, the magnetic treatment tube 30, a pair of electrodes 42 and optionally a bio- resonance treatment device 50) the joint, successive or combined use of which has a positive effect on the operation of the human organism. For this we selected operation ranges (frequency, voltage) that have a favourably effect on the treatment of diabetes. In this way the operating mechanism of the body can be restored efficiently and in the long term to normal, healthy operation.
Obviously a person skilled in the art may elaborate alternative solutions other than the embodiments described herein, which, however, are within the scope of protection defined in the claims.
