Abstract
The present invention pertains to medical techniques and essentially relates to devices for applying a physical action on the organism of a patient through the acupuncture regions. The present invention may be used for the prophylactic or curative treatment of patients. The system of the present invention comprises a pair of electrodes which the patient holds tight in his hands during a therapy session, the cathode being held in the right hand while the anode is held in the left one. The cathode has a body in the shape of a cylindrical hollow casing which is made of a copper alloy such as brass or tin-containing bronze. The end portions of the casing include previously electrified dielectrics or electrets which are oriented so that their opposite loads face each other. A mixture of minerals having therapeutic properties is used as the filler between the electrets, wherein said minerals include nephrite, malachite, carnelian, graphite and amber. The anode also has a body in the shape of a hollow casing which is made of a zinc-lead-tin alloy. The end portions and the central portion of the casing include permanent magnets which are oriented so that their identical poles face each other. The gap between the magnets contains a filler which consists of a mixture of magnetic iron ore, jasper and garnet. The system of the present invention may be used to apply a composite (tonic and sedative) action on the biologically active points of meridians. The voltage applied does not exceed the level of the naturally occurring voltage of the bio-active points which ranges from 0.5 to 0.6 V.
