Abstract

La présente invention concerne des articles expansés préparés à partir d'une composition contenant un polymère à faible IFC (IFC : indice de fluidité à chaud), par exemple un copolymère d'éthylène/alpha-oléfine dont la masse volumique est inférieure à 0,91 g/cm3 et l'IFC est inférieur à 3 g/10 min, un agent d'expansion chimique, par exemple l'azodicarbonamide, un inhibiteur de vulcanisation prématurée, par exemple un composé TEMPO, et, éventuellement, un initiateur radicalaire, par exemple un peroxyde. Si la composition ne contient pas d'initiateur radicalaire, elle est alors exposée à une source de radicaux libres avant et/ou pendant le traitement d'expansion, par exemple un faisceau d'électrons ou un rayonnement UV. La composition est élaborée et expansée au moyen d'installations et de conditions de traitement classiques.
