Abstract

L'invention concerne un vaccin contre l'encéphalite B japonaise contenant, comme adjuvant, un nouvel oligonucléotide immunostimulant possédant une activité inductrice d'interférons (IFN) accrue et une activité inductrice de cytokines inflammatoires réduite. L'invention concerne aussi un adjuvant pour un vaccin contre l'encéphalite B japonaise, qui comprend un oligonucléotide représenté par la formule suivante: 5'-(G)MPXCGYQ(G)N-3' (dans laquelle C représente un résidu de cytosine, G représente un résidu de guanine, X et Y représentent indépendamment une séquence nucléotidique qui possède une longueur de 0 à 10 nucléotides et qui ne contient pas au moins quatre résidus de guanine contigus, (sous réserve que la longueur totale de X et de Y soit comprise entre 6 et 20 nucléotides), XCGY représentent une séquence nucléotidique qui possède une longueur de 8 à 22 nucléotides et qui contient une séquence palindrome possédant une longueur d'au moins 8 nucléotides, P et Q représentent indépendamment un résidu de nucléotide différent d'un résidu de guanine, M représente un entier compris entre 6 et 10 et, N représente un entier compris entre 0 et 3), et qui possède une longueur totale de 16 à 37 nucléotides (sous réserve qu'un oligonucléotide comprenant la séquence nucléotidique décrite dans SEQ ID NO:5 dans la liste des séquences soit exclu.
