Abstract

 1つの画素列に対応して設けられる第1および第2データ信号線(S1・s1)を備え、画素(P)には同一の走査信号線(例えば、G1)に接続された4個の副画素(1a~1d)が含まれるとともに、画素(P)に2本の保持容量配線(Cs1・Cs2)が対応し、画素(P)の2個の副画素(1a・1c)が上記2本の保持容量配線の一方(Cs1)と容量を形成するとともに、これら副画素の一方(1a)が第1データ信号線(S1)に接続され、かつ他方(1c)が第2データ信号線(s1)に接続されており、残る2個の副画素(1b・1d)が上記2本の保持容量配線の他方(Cs2)と容量を形成するとともに、これら副画素の一方(1b)が第1データ信号線(S1)に接続され、かつ他方(1d)が第2データ信号線(s1)に接続されている。上記構成によれば、1画素に設けた4つの副画素を異なる輝度に制御し、これによって中間調を表示することが可能となる。
