Abstract

A fuel cell (1) is provided with a membrane-electrode assembly (2) having an anode (23), a cathode (26) and an electrolyte membrane (27) sandwiched by the anode (23) and the cathode (26); a fuel supply mechanism (3), which is arranged on the side of the anode (23) of the membrane-electrode assembly (2) and supplies the anode (23) with a fuel; and a liquid introducing section (6), which directly introduces an introducing solution, which is composed of water or a diluted aqueous solution of the fuel component, at least into the one selected from the anode (23) and the cathode (26), from the external of the fuel cell (1).
