Abstract

　膝保護用エアバッグ装置のエアバッグが膨張展開時に損傷するのを抑制しつつ、エアバッグを左右均等に展開させて乗員の保護機能を向上させる。 　テザー（２４）、（２５）によりエアバッグ（１０）内を複数の気室（２１）、（２２）、（２３）に区画し、第１気室（２１）内にディフューザ（３０）に収納されたインフレータ（２）を配置する。ディフューザ（３０）に、インフレータ（２）からのガスをエアバッグ（１０）内に流入させる開口部（３１）を設け、第１テザー（２４）の中央部に対向して配置する。この開口部（３１）をインフレータ（２）からのガスで開口可能に閉鎖し、エアバッグ（１０）の展開時のガス圧で全体を同時に開口させて、収納部（３２）内のガスを、開口部（３１）からエアバッグ（１０）内に左右均等に供給する。また、ディフューザ（３０）により、インフレータ（２）が発生するガスからエアバッグ（１０）を保護する。
